Dear Parents and Community Members,

Last night there was a video posted of a student who was shooting a BB gun out the window of his vehicle while making offensive racial comments. This video has quickly circulated around our community and city causing a great concern among our stakeholders and students.

Law enforcement was immediately involved and we worked together with them in the investigation. The investigation has concluded and we have taken the appropriate actions to address these students and their families. We also want you to know that there was no threat to our campus at any time. We are aware and understand the great concern from many of our parents that we have spoken to today in regards to this incident. Please know that the safety of your students, teachers, and staff is paramount to our daily operation.

We do not condone these actions and though they were made by Chiles students, it is not a reflection of our student body. We will continue to work with our students and our community to provide guidance to all students, especially those who would act in such an inappropriate manner. This incident should not overshadow the great work of our students, parents, teachers, and staff everyday.
