honestly I'm a little curious what the movie actually is... not enough to watch it, but I read the book far before the movie was even a thing and it honestly just felt like a sorta cheesy nostalgia friendly action story. Nothing groundbreaking but it has a coherent plot, a somewhat interesting world, and was just generally fun to read even if it's not some sort of literary masterpiece. And then after the movie came out all of a sudden everyone is acting like it's the worst thing ever and that it's nothing more than a list of every piece of media released from 1980-2000

I think the easiest way to see it is the lack of downside or condition. It means there's basically no reason to not play it. When you draw it, you get to play it and immediately exchange it for a replacement card + an extra card. It's like using a genie to wish for extra wishse

tsubasa reservoir chronicles is, I guess? maybe not so much in the sense it's used nowadays though since the story is about hopping around a bunch of dimensions instead of just living in one single new world

I actually recently started a rewatch of the anime for it because I wanted to hear that OST again in its original environment. one of the best anime soundtracks out there imo

I think usually the promises are more vague, more complex, and with a larger timeframe. this is a relatively straightforward single task that's supposed to happen in the near future, which means he won't be able to rely on people just forgetting it if it's a lie

I kinda feel like if he's saying this it is actually true that someone has been hired, though how much control they end up having is another question entirely

I've played sorta recently with some pretty significant overhaul mods

the base game of minecraft does not really appeal to me at all, I have essentially no desire for creative structure / base building in games

it's weird seeing it on individuals because the entire purpose of it is businesses. one of the features of a gold checkmark is that you can give blue checks to people along with a little icon that says they're officially affiliated with you. Which makes sense for larger companies that manage a bunch of public-facing individuals but is kind of pointless to have as a single person yourself

about a week ago I was eating with family and my mom tried making vegan burgers (no one in our family is vegan she just felt like trying). I think they were made of oats, black beans, and beet mostly? I'm not sure exactly.

Didn't taste like a burger at all, had the colour of kinda raw meat (thanks beets), had a very squishy gluey non-burger-like texture... I sound pretty negative here but honestly they were pretty good. Just didn't really come out like any sort of burger substitute. I also immediately unveganed it by having mayo on it <_<

I gave this a fair bit of thought but I can't even really come up with good guesses. The things that are famous about games tend to be the games themselves, or the characters, or maybe the music, but not the actual people involved. Ask people if they know/recognize pikachu and you'll probably get a lot of people saying yes. But ask if they know who designed pikachu, or even the main director of pokemon, and I suspect you'll mostly get blank stares.

I'm almost inclined to say it's some popular streamer like I dunno ninja or pewdiepie or etc etc. Not necessarily because they're the most famous video-game adjacent person but because I suspect they got the most more famous by their video game involvement

well this is part of why I said that - that content warning was not always there. I do agree far less people would play it without knowing something was up so there's definitely a lot gained but there's also a bit lost
