Yeah, that doesn't sound appealing or worth it.

I'd say it's weird that they don't allow foreigners at the soapland, but that's Japan in a nutshell.

As for the filming of random people, they have it ingrained into them by their culture to be reserved, polite, and borderline stifled. So even when they want to break free or deviate, it comes out in strange ways, like the stealing and smelling of underwear. Or in ways that while frowned upon there, seem tame over here. This is a place where it's socially unacceptable to call someone by their given name unless you're super familiar with them..

It actually does sound like a pretty amazing experience, and I'm not entirely sure it's deserving of a negative stigma. If it's within your budget/location/schedule, I would actually consider it.

Not that I'm complaining, because this movie is the shit.. but the case said it was 89 minutes, and I've been watching it for over two hours now. Just kinda threw me off; I had to look it up and it's actually 2 hours, 11 minutes.
