People still can't accept that in a pandemic, the economy necessarily goes to shit, disproportionately hurting the service industry and other social kinds of industries. It is all value judgments what to try to keep open or not, but for those judgments to be useful at all, they need to be grounded in reality.

Opening schools doesn't mean kids can choose to do normal school again, it means teachers have to do hybrid classes, which is a disaster at best. Opening bars doesn't mean restaurants and bartenders are saved, they're still at like 25% revenue at best. The only solution to these and the economy in general is to eradicate the virus. Any attempt to stop economic bleeding in the short term that increases long-term longevity of the virus is almost impossible to justify.

Yeah convert it to multiplication, and remember that the base is always 1

"100% + 100%" = (1 + 100%) * (1 + 100%) = (1 + 1) * (1 + 1) = 2 * 2 = 4 = (1 + 3) = (1 + 300%) = "300%"

Your example is confusing because it's using 100%, but try it with smaller and less even numbers:

"5% + 9%" = 1.05 * 1.09 = 1.1445 = "14.45%"

So it's pretty clear that this extra .45% comes from the compounding math. And the extra 100% in your example works the same way.

I've had steaks the past 3 thanksgivings, skipped the turkey. If you want to do it then do it, people need to stop acting like it's a law to eat turkey.

That said I'm ok with turkey. I much prefer chicken, but neither has to be dry. It's entirely a temperature thing. Even people who watch for temp forget about carry over cooking, that's probably the main culprit. But if you get that right then you can have a moist white and dark meat.

The problem is turkey just doesn't taste that good. It has a gamey flavor vs chicken's savoriness, and the fibers are so large. The worst part is the super thick skin (yes even after separating and stuffing under it). It's not nearly as satisfying as a crispy roast chicken.

That is how real justice systems work. How you react to the false accusation can be a crime and punished just the same, even after the original accusation is cleared. There's thousands who went down a life of crime after getting charged for now-legalized homosexuality or drug possession, and there's nothing they can do to fix it. Punishment is intentionally destructive and final. You can't get your life back, you can only hope to improve things for the next generation.

To be clear, they will definitely jump to another hysterical populist movement. If the Rs are smart they will ride the wave of that next movement (Q is the obvious one). We've seen it before many times with Bannon leading people from PUAs to GG to Trump. But he and the other strategists are gone now so it might not happen as effectively.

But also that hysterical movement can definitely be liberal. We've seen people like extha and wang switch to Bernie broism. Most young Americans are very liberal inherently so this isn't too surprising. It's just that there wasn't much of a populism among the liberals, until now.

So if 2024 is populism vs populism, there's no chance Trump will win or even get much traction.

Athena's Aid is great since the full bar bonus is massive, and you can use your regular attacks to DPS. If you have low DPS then it won't help, but you shouldn't rely on your aid to DPS anyways. And Athena in your pool is always good.

Virginia is extremely center, it was center right and now it's center left. It's not just nova, it's all cities and even like Roanoke. But the center right can't compete at the state level at all, only Trumpers can. Kinda sad, but they aren't getting anywhere so it's okay. But at the local level all the races are pretty close. Everyone is just so damn center though so it really doesn't matter.
