Too bad 5ds sucks tho. Motor bikes and a boring looking protag with a lame voice. Also I bet it lacks the Chazz

As far as yugioh goes, 5Ds has the best story and the best duels imo. Yusei is a straight-man Chad while Jack has just as many screw the rules I have money moments as characters like Kaiba and Chazz. The show is very self-aware of that too and plays with it a lot

yusei is the most badass protag tho. Breaks out of jail and beats up a cop. Then he basically does a Slumdog-Millionaire run and clowns the world champion on national TV

This game is a legit disaster. It's a disaster I really like, but disaster nonetheless.

Imo the movie is fairly important because it provides context to some important background lore. The anime is short at least and it does help to start kinda liking the characters already.

The royal pack alone is $15 not on sale, and i think the episodes are $10. You can probably get those at least half off, but imo it you really want that content it's probably cheaper just to get a new copy of royal edition

Voucher. I'm pretty sure the royal disc doesn't even have the day one patch. The game is 90GB+ with all the additional single player stuff, so it wild probably be to be a double disc game.

Note that the royal addition upgrade is $15 which mostly adds features, and the major content updates are separate.

ok cool so I can just keep the regular disc I have now, buy the royal upgrade and download all the free content updates, and Id have the most complete version possible? Does the royal edition include all the previous paid dlc like episode Ignus and Prompto and whatever?

I have the base game and I havent played it yet. Is Royal Edition considered DLC or is it considered a different game? For example, if I were to buy a Royal Edition copy, would the disc itself have different data on it? Or is it just the base game disc with a DLC voucher, like most game of the year editions?

Man, this game really just wants to kick me in the ribs at every opportunity.

focus on the Monster Duelists like Moja and the Tomato dude first and build up DP. Theyre significantly easier than the story mode characters and you can quickly build up enough DP for cards to pump your deck up with. If you beat all of those monster duelists 5 times youll unlock new packs too. Like I said, focus on buying packs of Synchro Awaken and maybe the Worm Invasion one too. Ignore the first couple packs. Once you get some decent cards, revamp your deck and youll find the story mode duels to be a lot easier

Eh thats about all I knew going into the games too. Id reccomend Ultimate Masters 2006 on the GBA too. Smaller cardpool and less mechanics make for a less overwhelming experience while still having tons of strategy etc. 2006 is probably the absolute most polished one imo, the interface is so clean and quick.

anyways, yeah just focus on effect monsters. Card advantage and always having options is important, so monster and spell/trap removal is important, make use of cards that have effects in the graveyard, search cards from the deck, etc. until you get more synergistic decks and whatnot, itll be a game about methodical resource management and maintaining card advantage + more options than your opponent. Once you have access to good combo cards and whatnot its about controlling the field and just rushing your opponent and keeping your thumb on them and foiling their plans to take back momentum

I highly recommend following along with that guide I linked. It highlights good cards in every set, and even touches on historical context of like how this card was good back in 2006 or whatever, or how this super old weak card found new popularity in 2009 because of a new combo etc. Its a fun read and itll really help teach the ropes and it definitely gave me personally a better appreciation of the game. Check our 2006 like I said for a simpler experience too

The faq has you covered on that too, lol. Near the start he gives a modified starter deck that runs pretty well. iirc the starter deck comes with Mobius and Zaborg the monarch cards, right? Add those in, the effects are way better than Frostosauruss slightly higher attack.

buy a lot of the Synchro Awaken! Packs to start off, and the structure decks. Before you have enough resources to construct a good themed deck, I would focus on a deck that just focuses on Special summoning in various ways so that you can Tribute Summon and Synchro Summon some heavy hitters. How familiar are you with yugioh as a whole?

Nice, the gen 5 pokemon games are probably peak Pokemon for me, I liked 6 and 7 enough, and definitely liked the mons from em, but I've been noticing that now that Digimon games are coming back in full force, my desire to play modern pokemon has dropped haha

same, this was my first time replaying B2 ever since it came out. In my mind it was a total 10/10 masterpiece, everything I couldve wanted! After this replay... tbh I was kind of underwhelmed, I think I overhyped it too much in my head. Gen 6 on the other hand I was very unimpressed on my first play through, but I ended up really appreciating it on a second run. Ive played Sun once and thought it was fine. I plan to do a Nuzlocke of UltraSun eventually to really decide how I feel on gen 7
