Wasn't it like a week ago DP was talking about how he failed to help someone from killing themselves in front of him and then he went home and drank beer, completely unaffected by his failure.

literally none of that story is accurate and everyone already in this topic was in that original topic? What do you gain from possibly lying about this lol? Its easily accessible from archived websites

the story was that he went to kill his family member, we caught him pulling up to the driveway of that relatives house and he offed himself. Second, I dont drink beer. I hardly even drink alcohol at all, so Im not sure why you even choose to have multiple lies

Edit: just had to clarify the failure. The detective and I saved a young womans life. Im actually getting an award lol

again my point is, is the vehicle owned by the police? Big difference.

so let me get this straight: you think your job description is the following:

an all powerful person who can detain people whenever he feels like it, without needing to show ID, or drive an official vehicle, even off duty, who can do whatever he sees fit, including gruesome bodily injury, who gets to decide who gets their life ruined (eg by going to jail and getting criminal antecedents) or who gets permanently crippled, and who must be obeyed at all times on everything, without questioning or reasoning. This person cannot be touched, approached or even talked back to.

i have a hard time believing that whoever envisioned the police force wanted to create a super class of people who are above the law, who decide what the law is and who can (and often do) decide to ruin somebodys life or who gets to take away and who gets to use a wheelchair and eat from a straw for the rest of their days, we are taking judge, jury, executioner and master all rolled up into one.

that belief that you and others clearly have is why so many people loathe you, and to top it all, you are also so fragile and hyper sensitive that we see videos of cops WEEPING over a fucking McMuffin or we see you blocking half of gamefaqs and marking the posts of the other half (I guess thats all you cant do since you cant beat the shit out of them over the www).

how do you sleep at night, man?

dude youre having some crazy meltdown. I have like 5 posters blocked lol. Thats butthole, mfkbass, fursonanongrata, and vipagts. Some radical extremist trolls. so, as far as you're concerned, if I make a patch that says "Police" and sew it onto a military surplus store jacket, I then get to do all the things you get to do? and, if anyone questions me, I can just walk away from them? and throw some random people in the back of my Subaru Outback?

whats stopping anyone at any point in our history from doing this? Its a nonsense argument.what if I go buy an old black and white car and put a police decal on it. What if I equip a commonly used police car and equip blue lights on it. I mean youre working off hypotheticals based on what a citizen can do

Many of these "violent protests" have escalated directly because of police using unnecessary levels of force. They're creating the very environments that they decry and try to victimize themselves.

Then you have situations like this. It's not justifiable, it's a power grab by this administration.

it really doesnt matter what paint a vehicle has. Its a vehicle. The arresting powers are not in the vehicle. Theyre in the officer. If I saw someone murder somebody off duty at the gym. I can legally arrest that person and hold them in my car if I needed to, depending on the circumstance. I really dont understand why you guys are so fixated on the vehicle for. I think thats a broad and baseless comment to make. I dont fear citizens. But during a protest where people threw Molotov cocktails at us, burnt my partners cars to ashes, pelting us with items. I would say yes, there is weary to be had during these protests

Idk how to explain to you that the militarization of police and treating fellow citizens like enemies of a "mini war" is a bad thing.

I think youre choosing to view that in that perspective. Theres literally violence across the entire country right now. If you think all protesting is just sitting in a circle singing songs youre wrong. If you dont think theres violence against officers youre wrong. If you dont think a situation like this would call for police to be properly equipped youre wrong. My buddy from another department was not militarized. Now hes sitting in rehab paralyzed because he was shot in the head by a protestor. Scared of a uniform is ridiculous

Theres, literally protests that are becoming violent. You are wondering why police are tactically equipped during what is essentially a mini war right now? Im not sure why you guys are so fixated on what theyre wearing during this. What does it matter, the person was calmly taken into custody without any force used. the point is it's indistinguishable from a kidnapping. jfc, just provide identification. you literally have badges that give you special privileges. what's so fucking hard about using them to make sure everything is legitimate?

they had readily identifiable police tag on their uniforms. If you dont believe that, why would a badge that just anyone could get make a difference? Just because a twitter user is outraged? The person was detained lawfully and read Miranda, so it sounds like through the entire thing they were vocal and cooperative with the subject and he was informed what happened through the whole process. Just because the twitter mob was not informed...

1) yes, unmarked impalas. POLICE IMPALAS. You just dont hop into your moms minivan and get ready for some arrests. These are not police vehicles.

there are literally tons of unmarked minivans in my department. Theres even a whole unit that goes after violent offenders in unmarked cars and plain clothes that arent police vehicles. Not all policing is done in black and whites.

i would say in this time OPSEC is important. The violent anti police Protesting is pretty rampant right now

you dont think they track people? During the protest I worked, our cameras and higher ups would point out the agitators and pick them up afterwards or even at their homes the next day for whatever crime they committed

Ive let CEmen stay at my house before lol. For the job, I treat everyone humanely and respectfully. I have 0 complaints in 4 years except the time my buddy lost someones ID that was my prisoner. But it was found and I personally delivered it to his wife at their residence.

i literally have nothing against black people im not even sure why youre bringing them up in this topic anyways lol. Again, like you said, I grew up in south side Chicago where my friends were either black or Hispanic. And I dont know what this minority label is. Its what I am, its not a label lol.

even if he did, he is supposed to be properly arrested, by actual cops in uniform, following procedure.

1) why the f*** was be blindfolded, taken to an undisclosed location and not read his rights?

2) where is the arrest warrant? People can get arrested either when theyre caught in the act, when theyre in hot pursuit after the act or when there is a warrant. Dude did something wrong at some day wont cut it.

3) what keeps groups you guys sympathize with, such as the proud boys, the boogaloo bois or atomwagfen (spelling) from dressing up in paramilitary gear and doing the same to others?

  1. what is properly arrested. There is no properly arrested. Unmarked units make arrests all the time. So do detectives that drive unmarked impalas. Just because you dont have a black and white doesnt make it an unlawful arrest.
  2. id love to get more info on this blindfold thing. If its true, I could see it being due to OPSEC to keep away the protestors from barging in the staging location for arrestees.
  3. you dont need an arrest warrant. Ive arrested someone for probable cause charges 3 months later without a warrant. Probable cause =\= arrest warrant. So yes, it does cut it just because you dont catch someone during the act of the crime doesnt mean it disappears
  4. i or anyone in my department have never sympathized with any political group Or militia . What other officers might have done in other cities is something I would not know or could do anything about
