He's not fully consistent, nor is any leaker, but I really don't think he can be written off anymore for Smash Ultimate. Assuming he's the one being referenced. I'm pretty sure one of biggest things going for Vergeben is that he said everyone would be back before E3 happened. You'd have to be pretty dense to think he doesn't have any sources at this point. If there no minecraft or SE content in the DLC then start talking, but even that wouldn't dismiss what he got right as lucky guesses. And Sakurai can say he hasn't started on the DLC yet, maybe that's true, maybe it isn't. Sakurai also said all 5 characters were already decided by Nintendo themselves, so info on those characters could still have been leaked. Vergeben isn't a case of getting a "few" things right and a bunch wrong. He got very specific things right, and as of yet hasn't really gotten anything significant wrong. If the biggest argument is there is no SE or Minecraft stuff, then again wait for DLC and we'll see. --- |

He sounded like he was very familiar with the games and went into details about how he would do it, and iirc, CE was really digging his idea. This is the only acceptable way to do a metroid movie imo. If you start getting too cute with dialogue and plot you end up with other m. Samus literally the only character who should talk the entire movie and it should be mostly to set up the story like she does in the opening of games. Don't fill it with cheesy one liners everytime she does something cool either. If they let a typical Hollywood person do a metroid movie we'd get other m the movie, only a lot worse probably. I'd take this guy in a heartbeat to direct a metroid movie, he at least seems to know the right way to do it. --- |

That's how I always rationalized the existence of God in my head, or at least the Christian version. Otherwise there is too much bad **** happening for it to make any amount of actual sense without resorting to copout answers like "it's part of God's plan and we aren't capable of understanding". Of course I'm not really educated on the bible nor do I particularly care to read it, so maybe there is some stuff in there that makes things more clear. --- |

But 45,000 for 9 months work is better than 45,000 for 12 months work Yeah to make 45k a year you either have to be in one of the top states for teacher pay or you would have to have been teaching for 20+ years most likely to reach that point. I teach in Oklahoma and starting pay is 35k a year now (was the worst in the nation prior to this year). With coaching stipends I'm at about 40k a year, but my take home pay is like 30k. I have to be there at 7:15, and typically get home from practice around 5:30. So I put in about 50 hours a week normally, but when basketball season starts and we have 2 games a week, it's going to be closer to 60 hours a week. So the hours can suck for sure, but it can be an extremely rewarding profession, as well as an extremely frustrating one. I routinely have kids who just don't turn in assignments and then wonder why they have 0's in their grades. I have a handful of students who don't do anything at all in my class, they sleep or sit on their phones all day and have no chance of passing the class because of it. They simply don't care. If you let it get to you it can be tough, but I'm pretty mentally sound so not too many things get to me. On the flip side of that though you have your really good students who excel and enjoy your class. It's very much a ying and yang type of profession IMO. --- |

My district spreads our paychecks out across all 12 months, so I still get income in the summer. Biggest perk for me is the extra time off. Fall break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, and summers off. That's basically 3-4 months off a year, sure you don't really get paid for that time off technically, but I make enough. --- |

Rian Johnson basically took everything that TFA set up plot wise and just tossed it away, for seemingly no other reason then to subvert everyone's expectations in attempt to do something different. I can appreciate taking a risk and doing something different, but the way it was executed was just bad. --- |

The biggest reasons for me to get into teaching were wanting more out of my career then just getting a paycheck, and basically having about 3-4 months vacation every year. Between fall, thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, and summers off it's close to 4 months off. My district spreads paychecks out across all 12 months, so I still get paid in the summer. Not many other jobs where you get that much time off. As a teacher or prospective teacher you're not supposed to say summers off is why you like being a teacher, but every one knows it's a huge incentive. --- |
