Honestly after he murders L the world doesn't end up too bad.

The entire show should have led to the humans being unable to make peace with each other and succumbing to the real overarching threat. Dany and Cersei fight each other, humanity is fractured, they simply aren't prepared for the army of the dead and they lose.

Instead we get Arya teleporting behind the NK and deleting them in one episode and forgotten about by the next. 10 years of buildup down the fucking drain.

Agreed with all of this post. This is the same show that set up Stannis' attempted siege and hyped it up for an entire season. You could feel the looming threat build up, characters were allowed to breathe and grow as the plot progressed organically

S7 and S8 feel like somebody used the wikipedia plot summary as a script "Dany goes to Dragonstone, Dany becomes allies with Elarria Sand, Ellaria is captured by Euron, Euron brings Ellaria to Cersei as a prisoner to win favor. I don't feel like these are deep characters with personalities living in Westeros, these are just actors portraying characters going from Scene A to Scene B to Scene C.

Somehow the expansive world and lore has been narrowed down to just a few characters acting along rails towards some Hollywood type plotline. It's boring, it doesn't make me want to become invested in the show.

Light was more justified than Dany was and actually did get some postive results for the world from his evil actions. I can see a very Utilitarian person think his actions are overall good for the collective though abhor his God complex.

How was an 18 year old with little life experience justified in killing suspected criminals and then a few episodes later just going for killing anyone standing in his way...same as Dany to me

Light is defined as an absolute fucking genius that excels at everything he does. He has intelligence on par with L who is the greatest living detective on the planet. Light says multiple times that the Death Note is a dangerous power but he deludes himself into believing that it was his destiny to receive the book and become a god.

When in actuality he just happened to be at the right place at the right time.

Overqualified is a tough one to dispute. Best way is to show extra interest in the job and company and clearly articulate why you want to transition. Of course, that's a little tougher to do so when they don't voice their concerns during the interview?

My job rehired a former engineer back on as a manager. He's a Type A dude that dislikes me because I'm not some happy-go-lucky work obsessed freak.

Was it an associate or entry level job? If so, that could play a role why you over qualified. An old private accounting firm I used to work in had me interview candidates entry level auditors. There was a guy who knocked the whole interview out of the park, so when I was in a meeting to pick out who will be the best for the job, they didn't pick my guy because they felt that he was the type of guy that would only work with us for 1-2 years and then leave to go work at a different place with all the knowledge and training we gave him. They were looking for someone that will retain a higher return on investment, someone who will stay with us but also wouldn't cost too much. I disagreed with them entirely and our boss kept on getting angry when our new accountants would constantly screw up.

It was a job that required 5-6 years basic CAD experience, so somebody that knew what they were doing but it was a non-engineering role. I made it pretty clear that the work involved interested me and that if they had performance reviews and hired their department project managers from within I'd be eager to take on the role.

I mean shit I said I'd be willing to take a paycut to join, if that doesn't say willingness to work hard I don't know what does.

I guess some people like MGS for ultra-different reasons from me. I like it when it's cinematic to some degree. MGSV hates being cinematic after the intro and seems to actively avoid cool moments.

Whoa hey slowdown there buddy MGS2 is my favorite game of all time. I just recognize that MGSV is a departure from 1-4 but I enjoy it all the same. Gameplay wise it is objectively superior, but I do understand the frustration from a narrative standpoint. Kiefer Sutherland had like three lines, most of the plot is explain on tapes, and there isn't even a real fucking ending.

Still though, it has its flaws but it truly shines in some aspects. Hopefully Death Stranding overcomes the faults MGSV had.

Yeah the story is like not present at all but I didn't give a shit because I was rocking out to ABBA and having fun.

Yeah something about riding in on a helicopter with guns blazing rocking out to "Take On Me" was great.

The game is unique for sure.

MGSV gameplay wise is 10/10

Unfortunately the game falls apart after the first chapter and there's no real resolution.

Just try to enjoy the journey itself I guess
