I was help staff on FurryMUCK, one of the oldest MU* games still in existence. Technically I'm still on the help staff, but I don't log in nearly as often as I used to, and there aren't as many players as there used to be. I guess TS doesn't have the appeal it once had.

It's funny that the more I've done stuff myself on my car, I've been less likely to do it myself outside of brakes and other really simple jobs in the future. I've changed a radiator, multiple serpentine belts, idler pulley, u joint, starter, fuel filter, probably others I'm forgetting. Now I just remember how much a lot of those jobs sucked and I'm like "Yeah I'll just pay someone" lol

I must say, the serpentine belt on my 95 Caprice is one of the easiest things I've ever done on a car. It has dual electric fans so there's nothing at all between the engine and the radiator, and the Caprice has a HUGE engine bay so there's plenty of space everywhere. Just stick a long ass wrench on the tensioner, pull it the other way, and pop off the belt. The hardest part is just figuring out how the damn thing winds back and forth to put it back on.

The alternator was also super simple to replace, just remove the belt, disconnect the wiring harness and ground wire, then unbolt it.

I wouldn't even try to do the spark plugs myself on the Caprice; several of them can only be reached from underneath. And I wouldn't even think of trying to replace the cap & rotor, since the OptiSpark unit is mounted underneath the water pump. I love my Caprice, but that's one of the dumbest things Chevy ever did (besides discontinuing the B-body).

I'm still waiting for the 1099-INT from the bank. I opened a couple CDs last year and made enough interest to be reportable.

I'm closing out my CDs and transferring my money into Treasury Bills. They pay better interest and only have a 4 week minimum term instead of 6 months like the CDs. That means I can get my money back in a month if I need it. They also have a $100 minimum, so anybody can start saving money. I changed my own spark plugs one time. I got really lucky; it was a Ford Triton V8 and they literally had a 14 page TSB on how to change the plugs. The original plugs had a design flaw and would break off inside the engine if you weren't careful, and the previous owner had never changed the plugs so my car still had the defective plugs. I didn't know this when I started, otherwise I'd have taken it to a mechanic.

I had to pour carb cleaner into the hole for the spark plug, let it soak for half an hour, then gently remove the plugs which were STUCK. I used a torque wrench to make sure I didn't use too much force.

Those were some NASTY plugs.

I get my oil changed at a local car wash. It costs about $75 with tax for full synthetic oil, and they throw in a full service wash which normally runs $35.

I get President's Day off, so it's a real holiday. I don't get the other days off, so they're fake, just like Flag Day or Grandparent's Day.

I tried running Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator on my new 24-core i9 computer with 128 GB of RAM and a 24 GB Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card, pitting 100,000 WWII American soldiers fighting 100,000 Germans.

It slowed my computer down to about 8 frames per second despite bleeding edge hardware.

1 billion characters would be completely unplayable.
