that being said, wine nights are amazing, especially because it gets people out that don't normally drink

vodka is the best (neutral taste) for mixing, whiskey is what i drink on ice when i want to get drunk, but really all hard alcohol just comes down to quality and how much you're willing to pay for it

beer's all right for social events where i want to pretend not to be an alcoholic. there are so many go d damn varieties readily available, so it's interesting to learn about more without breaking the bank

hello everybody

i've been getting back into fiction recently. some coworkers started recommending things to me and I just sort of did it

- finished Kim Stanley Robinson's mars trilogy
- 75% of the way through Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun

some good shit! love when the human/emotional element gets blended in with the hard stuff. too much fiction in my past became, simply, a transcription of events without emotional context. "this happened, then this happened, then this happened..."

oh yeah, someone recommended Hyperion and I hated that

last questions- i'm assuming it's no big deal to catch up a new character from 1 to whatever, so i shouldn't really sweat character choice for a while. is that the case?

also, i guess, best general use of growth eggs / gil / greens / etc

in most other games i've played, the answer is usually "don't worry about it until you're at max level", but just confirming

main party is at around level 30/31, just got the level 50 FFT dude, so should probably integrate him

not sure how to gauge relics. have enough 5 star weapons for most of the party, which seems appropriate for my level (Chocobo Wing, Blitz Sword, Gold Sword, Twin Lance, Werebuster)

they're good enough to carry me through most random encounters right now, then i abuse the roaming warriors on bosses. whenever i start struggling i start spending my mythril and things seem to work themselves out

not sure how to be splitting my stamina/time between realms, dailies, and events

been just sort of slowly creeping up, spending my mithril on relic draws, completing events as much as i can and skipping the dailies
