There are a few examples where the sound design is really loud and jarring. She uses some loud bleeps to cover up personal details she doesn't want to share, especially when she talks about her rape. But she shares the basic gist of what she means on-screen - for example, she bleeps out that she was roofied and raped, but the bleep screens detail that she was spiked and went through an unconsensual sexual experience.

She also bleeps out personal details of others who might not appreciate being spoken about.

Otherwise, you can more or less enjoy it in the background.

From an outside perspective, it seems easy enough to just ignore hundreds upon hundreds of replies and DMs at once, but its probably super overwhelming.
And when you're a known public figure, trying to recover from any sort of bad press like that is really difficult to do. Once you're in a group's sights, they're going to micro-observe everything you do from them on out lol

I just finished watching the video. To sum it all up:

Lindsay was raped in college, some time in the mid-2000's. It was something she didn't talk about, and she also dealt with her roommate getting raped a little while later in 2005. She began speaking about it around 2007-2008, and when she recorded this skit she wasn't open about having been raped.

One of her friends had a big flasher coat, and he started dropping like dumb, edgy rap lines about being a sex offender. This turned out to be incredibly funny and cathartic to Lindsay - for whatever reason, listening to these dumb rap lines helped her process and cope with what she had been through, and she plotted out this whole skit. It was made before she was open about having been raped, which dates it at 2008 at the latest.

After making it, she realised it was something that should never see the light of day. Back then, TGWTG content was uploaded by the content creators to a shared server, and another staff member would take their videos and put them on the website proper. What she didn't realise is that her saved video folder uploaded automatically - meaning that TGWTG had the video despite her realising she wasn't going to upload it.

She speculates that she could have been missing deadlines at the time, and after a point, the TGWTG staff member who was in charge of the uploads sent her a message to the effect of "it's fine, I'll just upload whatever I can find in the server". At which point, the rape rap was posted to TGWTG - in 2009.

Lindsay stresses that it was uploaded without her permission, and that she had resolved to never upload it before it ended up online. It was a skit stemming from an edgy joke that helped her cope with her own rape, and she never intended for anyone else to see it.
