Hell, I'd take Sarah Palin as President at this point.

Twice. Didn't get a ticket either time. The first time was my fault, but the second time...

My buddy wasn't feeling well and asked me to drive him home (in his car). So I did. Got pulled over almost immediately. Fucker's tags were like three months expired. And guess what? Even though it was his car, that would have been my fault. Would have been like three points on my license and my insurance would have skyrocketed from that. And no, it's not a fix-it ticket that goes away if you resolve the issue.

It can be if you talk to the judge and get it taken off permanantly. I went and saw my municipal court judge like a month ago and had 2 No Insurance tickets completely and utterly taken off my record. The citation, the fee, the record, all of it

Really? I thought they were especially harsh on no insurance.

Everything I read online said that (in my state) an expired tag ticket was unlikely to be dismissed. Plus, it's still a headache to deal with all of that because I was doing a favor for a friend.

Then please say "most people." It can be dehumanizing to be constantly told that you can't hold meaningful relationships as an asexual.

I don't agree with adjusting vocabularies (1.) for extreme minorities, (2.) when it could be implied they don't mean any offense (3.) if the party in question wasn't so oversensitive.

There's a big difference in discrimination and statistical invisibility. Bisexuals don't get upset when people say "gay or straight", asexuals shouldn't either.

Also, unless said asexual is dating another asexual (odds are a million to one) then the lack of sex will probably cause relationship problems.

Don't misunderstand, if you're a happy asexual, I'm happy for you, but don't look for reasons to be upset.

That's pretty lazy and inconsiderate. It's not hard to do.

@Kisai

Can you please edit your post? That first and second quote isn't from me.

You don't have to label yourself an asexual if you don't want to. I think terms can be useful for understanding yourself. I forced myself to have sex until I really accepted the term "asexual." It allowed me to accept that asexuality is part of who I am and that it's not a sign of me being defective.

Now, I find the people who plaster their labels on their profiles ("Hi, I'm a demigender ace aromantic etc." for a whole paragraph) to be a bit much. They're all valid labels, but it's like people setting their relationship status as "it's complicated." There's a time and place to discuss that, but throwing it right out the gate seems bad taste to me.

That's pretty dumb tbh. If you're not sexually attracted to a specific sex/gender then you can't be in a relationship with that person because sex is too important in a long term serious relationship. You can have a relationship though, aka a friendship which is how people have always done things.

Trust me, I'd much rather be with a dude if we're just going by personality, interests, hobbies, etc. I have much more in common with most men than most women, but unfortunately there's just nothing sexually attractive about the male body to me. It doesn't even have to do with some mindset of "that's a man, that would be gay, I'm not gay" if there was a biological woman that had those features I wouldn't sleep with her either.
And somehow I don't think most gay dudes would appreciate it if I was like "here dress like a woman and don't say anything so I can close my eyes and pretend you're a woman"

Sexuality is important and for a lot of people it is relatively binary, not 100%, but most people are far down one end of the spectrum or the other for the most part.

You can be in a sexfree relationship if you're asexual. It's not important to everyone.

Asexuals are extremely uncommon so I'm not really sure why you're bringing up such a minority. It doesn't change my point or what I ended on at all.
For most people you're either heavily towards one end or the other, and sex is important in a relationship.

Because you said long term serious relationships can't exist without sex. That's just straight up wrong.

Obviously I'm speaking generally and about "normal" people. Sex matters to the overwhelming majority of people and intimacy is the only thing that separates a close friendship from a s/o for most people.

Then please say "most people." It can be dehumanizing to be constantly told that you can't hold meaningful relationships as an asexual.

Does this argument also apply to homosexuality?

It applies to sexuality in general, everyone should entertain the thought of dating either gender. Limiting your options without getting to know people seems unfair and unproductive. I think it's a shame to turn down someone else's affection when you don't have to do anything you don't want to in bed. You could be on top and they could crossdress, or you could just cuddle while playing video games.

I honestly kinda agree with this.

Gender dysphoria is a mental illness that is not being treated correctly.

Before anyone tries to enforce a false dichotomy on me, I'm not saying anyone should be mean or rude to transgender people, they deserve respect and acceptance like everyone else, but I believe our current methods of help are more damaging than helpful.

So out of curiosity, do you think I shouldn't try to look like a girl if I want to be one?

I don't think anyone should care about gender enough to be transgender.

Rather than hormones and surgery, we should figure out why transgenders hate their birth gender. Were they abused, or bullied for being gay? Do they just want to crossdress and fill a different social role? Most don't do surgery afterall, and many care about "passing" more than having self esteem. I'm sure there are more reasons that vary from person to person, but I don't think transitioning is necessary in most cases. Maybe the few who actually want surgery and don't end up regretting it, but the rest need to consider the possibility of having something like an inferiority complex compared to other males, or a dissociative identity disorder instead of dysphoria.

Not all transgender people are gay.

Also, this whole post is insulting and infantilizing.

They didn't know to put a wig on her before that?

She probably liked having red hair. Or maybe someone in charge thought a wig looked too fake. It is pretty obvious when someone's wearing a wig versus their real hair. Now, a high end wig will look almost indistinguishable from real hair, but I sincerely doubt they would devote that kind of budget to a middling tween show on Nickelodeon.

Fun fact: look at the hair of any girl (or guy) who frequently dyes their hair wild colors. I can almost guarantee that it will look like shit. Extremely dried out and straw-like. If Ramona Flowers were a real person, her hair would be failing out from the constant dying.

About the hair:

She used to be on this show called Victorious. Her character in the show had bright red hair. It was her real hair dyed that color. Dying your hair that intensely (she probably bleached it before putting the red on) is damaging. Doing it constantly for several years destroyed her hair (made it thin, frizzy, and frayed). That ultra high and tight ponytail was a good way to hide how damaged the hair was. It's since become her signature look.

If I remember correctly, during the last season of Victorious/entirety of Sam & Cat, she's actually wearing a red wig.

TopicIs the Gender Wage Gap really a myth?
_Rinku_
08/09/17 9:43:04 PM

There is a gap, but it's not quite as dramatic as 25%.

A few factors are things like:

- Women typically don't work as much overtime (itself due to several factors, commonly caring for children)
- Women often stay home to take care of children for the first few years (because the cost of daycare can quickly outpace her wages) and this puts them behind in their careers
- Women are often discriminated against in hiring on the basis that they'll get pregnant immediately and cost the company money in maternity leave/constantly take off for their children

Now, if you compare say two computer programmers, Alex and Alexa, both having worked five years at the same company, you'll see that things are more equal. Typically, Alex will make about 85k while Alexa makes 82k. This is still an issue of sexism because women are often passed over for raises. A woman is often seen as "bossy" when the same behavior in a man is seen as "assertive." That is very much an issue that exists and needs to be addressed.

Related to that: that's why women often have a man accompany them for big purchases (cars, houses, etc.) It's been shown that, even with the same arguments and research backing them up, men consistently get lower prices than women.

There is a gender wage gap, despite the blubbering from the hardcore right wingers. It's not a horrific, debilitating injustice done just for the sake of putting down women like SJWs think it is. It's an issue rooted in deep-seated, but subtle sexism that's hard to undo.
