Face ID is a cool idea but in practice it can be annoying.

for instance, i mount my phone on my dash when i drive. when i try to unlock it, it asks for my face (retina scanning). obviously, im not going to lean into my phone so i can't use Retina scanning.

or if my phone is on my desk.

i personally like Smart Lock. i set it to not be locked when im at home, or when its connected to my bluetooth in my car.
