Why are people saying playable champions? I thought it looked incredibly clear that they'll just be NPC fighting alongside Link in a few fights. Each champion having their own dungeon of sorts where they help Link out for a portion of that dungeon.

If I can fight alongside Tulin for more than 5 minutes... :thinking:

Chris was actually a pretty decent Mario but I ain't taking an L on this. There's a TON of faults in the film but it's definitely for super fans who just wanna see all the Easter eggs and stuff.

The pacing was so awful yeah.

I dunno, I feel like I keep seeing that going around and just feel like it's an excuse not to even try.

Take Puss in Boots 2 for example. It's a sequel for a side character from a franchise that died off 10 years ago. It's cute and funny, visually gorgeous... but also had a ton of heart and real messages that people can relate to, as well as character growth.

And then seeing people just say... well that's not what Mario is. Mario should just be stomping... GOOMBAS and Bowser being Bowser.

Why can't we have both?

I'm just trying to understand the argument. Are people saying that there's absolutely no way possible for a Mario Movie to get 95%+ by both critics and audience? I just think that's a lazy way of thinking I guess.

Audience is for sure going to be in the 80-100% range. They just want to see Mario say Wahoo and Bowser go Brrrr whilst having it all look pretty. And that's what they're gonna get.

Do they care if they get anything else worth actual substance? Of course not. Because Illumination doesn't do substance. They do money.

Following the success of the 2022 Shrek spinoff sequel Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Murphy said in January, If [DreamWorks] ever came with another Shrek, Id do it in two seconds. I love Donkey. They did Puss in Boots movies. I was like, They should have done a Donkey movie. Donkey is funnier than Puss in Boots. I mean, I love Puss in Boots, but he aint funny as the Donkey.

I latched onto it since Artemis has a very strong sense of smell and Rosetta, being an alien, just smells "different" to him. So he jokes and calls her stinky.
