I mentioned like two weeks ago that I finally saw the Elvis biopic in theaters.

Country singer Kacey Musgraves did a cover of this classic Elvis song, which was featured in the biopic:

Gustavo Arnal has died.

The 52-year-old Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. chief financial officer fell to his death from the New York skyscraper known as the Jenga Tower on Friday afternoon (September 2), police confirmed to Reuters.

The news comes as the company announced it was closing 150 stores, cutting jobs and overhauling its merchandise strategy amid losses. He sold 55,013 shares in the company last month, based on SEC filings via the news outlet.

Police responded to a 911 call and found a 52-year-old man dead near the building, who appeared to incur injuries from a fall. He was later identified to be Gustavo Arnal. Authorities have not yet provided further details.

The New York City Medical Examiners Office will now determine the cause of the death.

Men are encouraged to see nude female body and be insatiably hungry. If youre not, youre considered a weirdo.

Women are the opposite. If they ogle the male body too much, then they are a slut.

Society plays a huge part in conditioning people to behave certain ways.

I think its definitely changing though. I think women are much less coy these days about admitting what turns them on.

It's fucking garbage and shows they don't have any knowledge at all about trans people but it's precisely because they're so violent and try so hard to remain ignorant that they continue to rage against our very existence while insisting we are just pretending.

Yuck.

Tucker Carlson has come after Maren now:

https://countrynow.com/maren-morris-claps-back-after-tucker-carlson-calls-her-a-lunatic-and-fake-country-music-singer/

Tucker Carlson labeled Maren Morris a lunatic and a fake country music singer and she responded with the launch of a new t-shirt with proceeds benefiting GLAADs Transgender Media Program and Trans Lifeline.

A country music singer called Cassadee Pope accused Aldean of wronging LGBTQ+ people for writing that, and then a lunatic called Maren Morris, some kind of fake country music singer, went all the way Carlson said. And then of course, Brittany Aldean was attacked up and down the American media for telling a transphobic joke, which they never quoted at all. Youd have no idea what she said. They really attacked her and to her great credit shes not backing down.

On Friday morning (Sept. 2), Morris poked fun at Carlsons comments by sharing a #NewProfilePic of herself that resembled a Fox News broadcast.

Hours later, Maren launched a new shirt making light of Carlsons comments:

*ATTN LUNATICS* New shirt in the shop. All proceeds will be split between @translifeline & the @glaad Transgender Media Program.

Whose side are you on?

https://www.etonline.com/maren-morris-and-brittany-aldeans-trans-rights-feud-timeline-breaking-down-their-drama-190039

Country star Maren Morris and Jason Aldean's wife, Brittany Aldean, are at odds after a comment from the latter incited a war of words between them on social media.

From the initial remark to a firestorm of backlash on all sides, celebrities and commenters have weighed in on the debate in recent days.

Brittany posted a seemingly innocuous Instagram video depicting a glam-up, but it was the accompanying caption that sparked drama:

"I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life," she wrote. Her "Trouble With Heartbreak" singer husband replied to the post, "Lmao!! I'm glad they didn't too, cause you and I wouldn't have worked out."

The Voice alum Cassadee Pope, who won season three of the competition series with coach Blake Shelton, addressed Brittany's comment on Twitter first.

"You'd think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging," she wrote. "But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their 'tomboy phase' to someone wanting to transition. Real nice."

Maren did not mince words as she chimed in with a reply.

"Its so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human?" she tweeted. "Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie."

Later that day, Brittany took to her Instagram Story and doubled down on her stance. Her response to Pope's criticism included her claiming that "Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it 'gender affirming care,' is one of the worst evils."

She added, "The other day [son] Memphis wanted to be a dinosaur, and tomorrow [daughter] Navy will want to be a cat. Theyre children.

"Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly, that theyre willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who arent old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions," Brittany continued. "... Thankful my parents allowed me to go through my tom boy phase without changing my gender. Until then, leave children alone!"

"Y'all have been so sweet and supportive today of me and Cassadee," Maren said on her own Instagram Story. "I will say, we can handle this shit, we have dealt with idiots for years saying insanely stupid stuff at us but I would check on your trans friends, check on your gay friends, anyone that is in country music and had to look at that bullshit today and feel subhuman."

She continued to thank her fans again for their love and support, adding, "It was just like, I didn't really think I woke up and chose violence today, I was like, I'm so sick of looking at absolute horseshit on the internet and people getting away with it -- much less being celebrated for it."

Maren and Brittany's respective husbands, Ryan Hurd and Jason Aldean, publicly backed their wives.

For Jason, it was a subtle comment on her Instagram: "MY Barbie," he wrote, referencing Maren's "Insurrection Barbie" label.

Ryan offered a more strongly worded response on Twitter.

"Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isnt something that is brave at all. And Im proud of Maren for sticking up for them. Badge of honor to have CO engage in completely normal discourse, too. Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with," he wrote.

https://people.com/health/arnold-schwarzenegger-has-been-80-plant-based-for-5-years-feels-healthier-and-younger-overall/

Arnold Schwarzenegger has told his carnivorous side that he'll only "be back" occasionally.

The Terminator star, 74, shared in his latest newsletter that he switched to a mostly plant-based diet a few years ago, and rarely eats meat.

"I have been about 80% plant-based for the past five years of my life," Schwarzenegger told fans.

"Even though I still eat meat sometimes, because I can't resist a juicy steak when I have friends over or a crispy wiener schnitzel in Austria, I mostly eat plant-based because it is better for my overall health, and as my friend Jim Cameron taught me, better for the environment because the clearing of forests and the raising of animals for meat causes so much pollution."

And Schwarzenegger said that he's already seeing the health benefits of going mostly meat-free.

"My bad cholesterol number is so low that my doctor thought I might be a different person and [I] feel healthier and younger overall," he said.

Do you think limiting meat consumption can play a part in mitigating climate change?

https://bit.ly/3Rhd1DC

At 92 years old, actor Clint Eastwood has been in the Hollywood spotlight for decades but his newest project, a documentary called Why on Earth, could be one of his most important roles. Created by animal-rights advocate and filmmaker Katie Cleary, the documentary was filmed across five countries and focuses on the way humans have destroyed animal habitats and are ultimately destroying themselves by fueling the climate crisis through unsustainable practices such as deforestation for palm oil production, poaching, shark finning, and animal agriculture.

I am an animal person, Eastwood said in the films trailer. I appreciate the beauty of them. I just want to see everything live.

Eastwoods appearance in the film lends the weight of his fame to the cause of mitigating the climate crisis by making important changes, such as a transition to more sustainable food systems and diets. The plant-based diet should affect positive changes for the well-being of animals and people, he said.

In addition to Clint Eastwood, Why on Earth features other animal-lovers, including NBA legend John Salley; anti-poaching groups in Africa; people working to save orangutans in areas deforested by the palm oil industry; and groups such as Animal Recovery Mission (ARM) working to expose the cruelty of the animal agriculture industry. The best thing we can do is manage the beautiful things we have and animals fit right into that category, Clint Eastwood says at the end of the films trailer.

In 2018, an Oxford study published in the journal Science found that following a plant-based diet is the single biggest way to slow environmental destruction. This comprehensive study was based on five years of research and data from nearly 40,000 farms in 119 countries. To come to this conclusion, researchers examined the environmental impact of producing 40 foodswhich amount to 90 percent of all food eaten on earth. Led by Joseph Poore, the researchers found that the meat and dairy industries are responsible for 60 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions and that if individuals removed animal products from their diets, they would reduce their carbon footprint by 73 percent. The researchers also found that if meat and dairy production were to cease, global farmland use would be reduced by 75 percent.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/30/texas-reports-what-may-be-the-first-us-death-from-monkeypox.html

Texas health officials said Tuesday that a patient diagnosed with monkeypox died in what may be the nations first-known fatality from the virus.

The patient was an adult with a severely compromised immune system who lived in the Houston area, health officials said. The case is under investigation to determine what role monkeypox played in the individuals death, officials said.

Monkeypox is generally not life threatening, but people with compromised immune systems are at higher risk of severe disease. Patients typically develop lesions that often look similar to pimples or blisters and cause excruciating pain.

The outbreak in the U.S. is disproportionately affecting Black and Hispanic men. About 30% of monkeypox patients are white, 32% are Hispanic and 33% are Black, according to CDC data. Whites make up about 59% of the U.S. population while Hispanics and Blacks account for 19% and 13%, respectively.

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky on Friday said health officials are optimistic the spread of the virus may be slowing as new cases fall in major cities.

Were watching this with cautious optimism, and really hopeful that many of our harm-reduction messages and our vaccines are getting out there and working, Walensky told reporters Friday.

Good news is that the spread is slowing down.

https://people.com/health/kim-kardashian-says-plant-based-diet-helps-her-psoriasis/

Kim Kardashian is praising the benefits of her plant-based lifestyle.

On Thursday, the 41-year-old entrepreneur shared on her sister Kourtney's Poosh lifestyle blog that a plant-based diet has been key in keeping her psoriasis at bay - and particularly her vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free tacos.

"I eat them at least once a week," said Kardashian, who has long been open about her struggle with the skin condition, which can cause visible red and scaly patches on the skin, both on social media and Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

"I try to eat as many anti-inflammatory and antioxidant foods as possible," she added.

Focusing on a plant-based diet has not only helped Kardashian's skin condition but also other areas of her life as well. "It's made me more mindful about how what I put in my body affects me, not just psoriasis but also my mood, my stress levels, my energy, everything," she shared.
