Ariana Grande and Gabrielle Union are just two of the major stars who signed an open letter that calls out and condemns book banning.

LeVar Burton put the letter in motion, and published public advocacy organization and political action committee MoveOn Political Action this week.

In addition to Arianaand Gabrielle, over 175 actors have signed it in support.

According to THR, the letter encourages readers, teachers and more to challenge the banning of books starting at the school level, and called out how the bans demonstrated restrictive behavior which is antithetical to free speech and expression.

We cannot stress enough how these censorious efforts will not end with book bans, it reads. Its only a matter of time before regressive, suppressive ideologues will shift their focus toward other forms of art and entertainment, to further their attacks and efforts to scapegoat marginalized communities, particularly Black, Indigenous, People of Color and LGBTQ+ folks.

The letter adds that the ones who have chosen to sign will continue to refuse to remain silent as one creative field is subjected to oppressive bans.

Mark Ruffalo, Billy Porter, Chelsea Handler, Constance Wu, John Leguizamo, Christie Brinkley, Idina Menzel, Judy Blume, Busy Philipps, Andy Cohen, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Sharon Stone, Judd Apatow, Zooey Deschanel, Patton Oswalt, Natasha Lyonne, are just a handful of the other big names on the list who have signed the letter.

Megan Thee Stallion is sharing new comments about what happened backstage at the MTV VMAs during that moment with Justin Timberlake.

A video went viral during the show as Megan appeared to be yelling at Justin after they ran into each other backstage. However, a source quickly squashed rumors of a feud and explained that there was no fight at all.

I didn't watch the video but, it's possible that the right has an edge on controlling young men because the right makes them feel like they care about them. Topics like men's mental health, double standards when it comes to various social aspects, draft, divorce/custody issues, prison sentence discrepancies, etc. are typically neglected on the left side of conversations. However, the right acts like they care about those things and want to talk about them. Young men who feel they are facing those issues resonate with that and are then drawn to those right wing content creators.

What the left can do to draw more men is basically include them more. Steal the feigned interest from the right and actually take it seriously. The small things that a young guy experiences affects him and he will seek sources that make him feel like he's being noticed.

So, things that can be done are:
* Include men in the body positivity movement
* Condemn 'small dick' jokes
* Take sexual assault and molestation of boys seriously
* Destigmatize being a virgin at 20
* Destigmatize being a nerd
* Breakdown the gender roles still expected of men. While such energy has been put into breaking down women's gender roles, the men's roles have been neglected and are still largely based on conservative principles. Remove those burdens and change what it means to "be a man".
* Put much more energy into men's mental health support. Tackle the suicide rate, loneliness and depression
* Start pushing boys into college again. The discrepancy between boys and girls in college is getting too big.
* Empower boys using liberal messaging. Make boys want to be role models instead of just having good jobs. Start acknowledging International Men's Day as an actual thing for once and make it focus on boys.
* Advocate for ending Selective Service
* Advocate for ending unfair policies like extended sentences based solely on gender and the Duluth model.
* Advocate for including shelters for men and boys dealing with abuse
* Destigmatize men being caretakers of children

Those last bullets aren't things that young 19-20 year-old boys deal with but, the goal is to remove any ammunition they could complain about. It always starts with being a frustrated kid who grows into complaining about all of those other things after all.

Make all of those things left-wing talking points and young men won't gravitate towards right-wingers who act like they care about those boys. They will fill their feeds with progressive content creators instead and stay Democrat because Democrats would be the ones fighting for them.

A day after Lauren Boebert apologized for her behavior at a Sunday show of "Beetlejuice" in Denver, Colorado, a conservative conference announced the representative would speak at their upcoming convention.

The Texas Youth Summit, aimed at children and young adults, allows anyone between 12 and 26 to attend for free.The Summit will be held at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott outside of Houston at the end of the month.

The announcement comes amid controversy surrounding the Boebert's behavior during the theater performance, in which she was escorted out for vaping, groping her date, and bothering other guests.

Chick-fil-A is making another foray into the United Kingdom.

The company said in a press release Thursday that it would open its first store in early 2025, with another four opening over the following two years.

Researchers examined the diets of 55,500 people and found that vegans are responsible for 75 percent less in greenhouse gases than meat-eaters.

People who follow a plant-based diet account for 75 percent less in greenhouse gas emissions than those who eat more than 3.5 ounces of meat a day, and a vegan diet also results in significantly less harm to land, water and biodiversity, according to new research from the University of Oxford.

While the link between animal agriculture and environmental harm is well established, earlier studies used scientific modeling to reach those conclusions. By contrast, the Oxford research drew from the actual diets of 55,500 people vegans, vegetarians, fish-eaters and meat-eaters in the United Kingdom and used data from some 38,000 farms in 119 countries.

The peer-reviewed study, led by Peter Scarborough, a professor of population health at Oxford, was published on Thursday in the journal Nature Food.

If meat eaters in the United Kingdom who consumed more than 3.5 ounces of a meat a day (slightly less than the size of a quarter pound burger) cut their intake to less than 1.7 ounces a day (roughly the amount of a single McDonalds meat patty) it would be the equivalent of taking 8 millions cars off the road, Dr. Scarborough said.

The study found that, compared to meat-heavy diets, vegan diets resulted in 75 percent less land use, 54 percent less water use, and 66 percent less biodiversity loss.

In terms of greenhouse gas emissions, people who ate more than 3.5 ounces of meat daily accounted for 22.5 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a day due to, among other variables, the farming of livestock and land used to grow animal feed.

The study also found that vegans and vegetarians were on average younger than fish and meat eaters.

In the Oxford study, meat was defined as all land animals. Earlier research has found that organic cow, chicken and pig meat production is just as harmful to the climate as conventional livestock farming.

What our work says is even in the worst case scenarios, the environmental footprint of not only vegan diets but low meat diets are much, much better than high meat consuming diets, Dr. Scarborough said.

This reinforces the message that the amount of meat we consume is strongly related with our environmental footprint, Dr. Scarborough said. Small changes from being a high meat eater to a low meat eater can make a huge difference in environmental impact.

Globally, the food system is responsible for about one-third of planet-heating emissions, 70 percent of freshwater use and 78 percent of freshwater pollution. To slow the worst climate effects, the United Nations has called for a drastic reduction in meat consumption.
