Grail concert event coming to FGO the 17th. Hyped for the cute af idol costumes.

It's a bit hit-or-miss for me. Helena, Nitocris, Medb, and Euryale look good, but Ushi and Nero look bad (Nero especially, even setting aside the fact that she didn't need a third costume). The other's I'm neutral on, they're cute in a generic sort of way (though Shuten's looks like it wouldn't be easy to dance in).

That still means Melusine isn't until July or so.

Melusine is probably late June. She has to be before the GSSR at anniversary, or people will throw a fit like they did for the first GSSR when Jack and Mordred weren't on it. And the 6th anniversary event will be around AX, which starts on July 1st this year.

This probably means that the Nerofest rerun will be moved so it isn't in-between the first and second parts of LB6.

Well, that's unfortunate, and also explains why there was no news post regarding the upcoming banners. May actually go back to Blue Archive then, main reason I wasn't playing that much was because it was so similar to Priconne, and I generally preferred Priconne characters and story.

Caster of Nightless City (who is so bad that she's notable memed to be weaker than Phantom of the Opera)

IIRC, Nightless Caster is fine now. She's had two strengthenings and an interlude, and Castoria exists now.

She was bad on release, though the only reason she got meme'd as weaker than Phantom is that most of the Kings people think of immediately are Riders. At this point, out of 79 Kings in the game, only 13 are Riders, while 16 are Assassin/Berserker. She's a decent pick now for anti-King damage, even at neutral.

Anne and Grea also eventually get a duo unit for Prifest down the line, though that's about 3 years away for NA servers, since it was this year in JP.

It's not that hard actually. There's more code present now than there was when the event first ran, and it's likely that some fiddly bit of code for the localization or some other event map transition messed with the map transition code for the Mysteria event.

We like to think of event code as independent modules, but they generally aren't.

Edit: I'm also not sure how much code from old events is actually kept by PriConne. If they delete old events until their rerun, someone could have just forgotten the extra map or transition when loading today's patch.

Small correction: the two new meta supports for this year are Oberon and Koyanskaya of Light. Castoria and Skadi also have banners this year, which could be important for a new player (mainly Castoria, though Skadi is still good if you want to properly support a Quick servant).

I was interested in her after seeing her in the anime, her character was pretty interesting. Is she good?

She's the best of the Friendship Club at least, though that doesn't say much, given that Chloe and Chieru are kind of bad on release. Yuni is similar to MG!Shiori as a physical support, but is generally better (PAtk and PCrit buff for one physical unit, TP regen/magic shield for the party, UB buffs party PAtk and PCrit) since she's not as restrictive. She has some self-debuffs, but they're not anything to worry about.

She's not meta-defining, but still pretty useful.

....I heard it was bugged and did little damage, but when I did it earlier it definitely used its UB. Twice even. Still one shot it due to UB NYarl spam, but only barely (though it would have been low enough I could have cleared it with an additional team anyways).

From what I've heard, this is basically how arena resets are going to be from now on, as this is when JP server started doing the same thing. So no more easy high placements for early risers.

I'm mostly unaffected, since I've never bothered to rush placements, mainly because I can generally place high enough later on. I guess I may end up encountering some of them depending on how many organized groups are in my bracket, but I'll worry about that if it happens.

How good is Princess Peco?

P!Peco is overall good, just not a standout. Does more damage above 50% HP, gets tankier below 50%.

Christina's UE doubles and TP boost buff on her first skill, slightly more than doubles the PAtk buff on the skill, adds a TP charge to the skill, and adds a Crit Damage buff to the skill that lasts for the rest of the round (which means it increases every time she uses her skill 1). The stats on her UE are PAtk and TP Boost.

Overall, it means she spams her UB more, and it gets more powerful the longer the fight takes due to the auto-crit.

Nothing unsuprising. Selector ticket pack comes with a 10-pull ticket that can be used at any time on any gacha that isn't paid-only, and a ticket that lets you pick a 3 star from all of the permanent characters added up to Kaya's release (price TBD, since it varies based on region). It's not a free 3 star, but it should be a better deal than the usual paid gachas if you're willing to spend a little.

The IM@S Cinderella Girls collab units are expected after the summer prize gacha.

Was looking around and actually found an OTK for the C version of the turtle back from JP server:

Not particularly relevant to us, as we don't usually reach C tier (not to mention the differences from the standard recommendations in the guides we use), but I found it amusing that there is still an OTK for a boss so unfavorable for NY!Karyl.

I'm not sure you have enough targeted TP boosts for A1? Wyvern doesn't do any AOE damage worth mentioning, so having Yuuki or Luna seems kind of necessary looking at the database. You can try again now that I have Luna on support. Maybe Luna/NY!Karyl/Neneka/Anne/Yukari?

My trial results with the above comp on full auto:
A1: 5.7m
A2: 5.7m
A3: 1.6m (really bad timings on auto, throwing a lot into the substitute. Managed 2.1m turning auto off during substitute, so I think this is just a really bad boss for this comp. Looking at the database, it seems the only auto high damage NY!Karyl comp forgoes Neneka on this boss)
A4: 3m
A5: 1.9m (turtle has buff wipe. This is a really bad boss for NY!Karyl in general)

It should work OK for the first two bosses at least. 3 and 5 are just annoying for NY!Karyl, and 4 really prefers abusing summons like X!Chika.

That aside, I do think that we overhyped NY!Karyl a bit. It seems like a standard thing for Priconne NA community though, similar to overworry about bricking. I'll admit that I'm played into it a bit myself, at least partly because Karyl is my favorite out of the Gourmet Guild.

It can be dependent on what boss you're fighting as well. I was able to hit almost 7m on the fourth boss, which is a first for me (though this is still A bosses).

For now, I've stuck my Luna and NY!Hiyori on support for the CB, to cover both magic and physical support. I can change around a bit if requested though.

My inclination would be 5 star Maho over Misato unless the AOE healing is needed. Misato brings a crit buff while Maho provides TP on her UB. Given NY!Karyl's scaling, the MAtk buffs end up fairly small.

6!Maho obviously provides more TP, but 5 star still provides some. Probably best to trial when CB comes around to check though.

Generally, TP boosters. NY!Karyl wants to spam her UB as often as possible, so you want to have as many TP boosters as possible. Healers as necessary to keep people alive, other mages if necessary to fill out flex slots. So it's somewhat dependent on the boss fight, there's no catch-all that I can think of immediately.

Neneka, Maho (6 star next month IIRC), Yukari, Luna are big partners for her. S!Saren is fine to start the UB chains off, but regular Saren doesn't usually work, because Yukari and Neneka stand closer. Yuki can be used from time to time, though most of his utility is otherwise bad for CB, he's still a TP booster. X!Chika is also a fairly big partner, even ignoring looping comps, though I know you don't have native X!Chika.

If using Luna or Yukari you should probably try to manipulate things so that their first TP boost goes to NY!Karyl.

NY!Karyl recommendation is 14-6 and 3 stars for now, though she's still absurdly good at higher ascensions. So you don't need to spend amulets on her for her to be good.

I'm pretty sure my normal Yui is already completely bricked for CB use because her rank is higher than the ranks mentioned in the gear guide. Mine is at 12-4 and the guide recommends 11-6 or 12-2. Is she still fine to use at max rank (or some specific rank between 12-4 and the max) for other stuff like main story missions, dungeons, or the Tower of Luna? Or is she already beyond salvage and I should get NY Yui instead?

I was going to pull for her whether she was good or not because Peco is best girl. I have so many gems saved up that I could pull for NY Karyl, NY Yui, Princess Peco, and still have plenty left over.

Considering how casual we are here, 12-4 is probably fine for Yui. Chocolate's recommendations are technically general use, but they're slanted towards CB use. Worst case scenario, you end up not being able to use a specific strat because your Yui didn't get TP in time to heal before a boss UB in a high AOE damage situation. For most quest, Luna Tower, and CB stuff, you're likely fine to stay at 12-4.

For casual play in general, bricking is mostly an overblown issue. It specifically refers to a character becoming unusable for max damage timelines, but gets overused because a bunch of the vocal posters on places like Reddit are meta-chasers, and guides tend to be written by people who focus on meta.

As for pulling plans, I mentioned Princess Peco because I assumed you would want to pull for her, but didn't know if you had enough saved for three sparks over 2 months (though P!Peco should get free daily 10 pulls, as per usual for Anniversary).

Edit: To explain a bit further, bricking in 6!Yui's case specifically means her usability in looping comps goes down. I don't think you even have X!Chika (at least you've never mentioned her), and most heavy looping comps even without X!Chika require manual play. I think 12-4 is close enough that it won't significantly matter in general play.

NY!Yui gets an MDef shred from her UE, as well as TP Boost, making her a decent choice for a support in CB. However, strictly as a healer she'll be outclassed by 6!Yui in February. She's still a fairly good pickup for mage support, has a strong niche, and will still probably see decent use for a while, but she's considerably less of a "must-pull" at this point than she was a year ago.

I'd pull based on what else you want to pull in the near future. Notably for you, Princess Peco is due around late January I think (she was the second anniversary Gala unit). Yeah, multiple supports for no mana cost helps, though I'm not sure which support slot is used at the moment (could be event, or it could be story/quest).

Just a heads up for Priconne global. The Kaiser Raid coming up heavily resticts what units you can use for each boss. The restrictions lean heavily into story, which basically means each boss can only be fought by characters (mostly) canonically fighting them in story (collabs are weird). For example, Makoto can only be fielded during the fight against Kaiser herself, not against any of the other bosses in the event.

NA is three years behind JP.

Gacha definitely won't be an issue to get her, but EX characters are resource intensive. 3k memory shards (any combination of characters) and 500k mana to buy, and Mana specifically will require you to have unlocked Karin first.

If you're thinking about coming back specifically for Mana, it would probably be better to have a lot of time to prepare, since the EX characters are designed as endgame excess resource sinks. IIRC you liked Christina, and we have an X!Christina banner for about 2 more days I think? So it might be a good time for you to start a new account if you don't want to pick up your old one (new accounts get Neneka/Muimi/Christina gala for a few days after starting, which is good for rerolls).

Priconne JP is getting playable Mana (aka Kaiser Insight) soon, unlockable using memory shards and mana like Karin is. The timing is especially amusing because NA server should be getting the Kaiser raid event later this month to cap off the first story arc.
