Two black guys wait quietly (the white guy and girl probably wouldn't haven't been saying they hadn't even done anything if they were being obnoxious) in a starbucks and not only do they get flexed on by about 6 police officers, they also quietly and calmly go with the police after being wrongly arrested (instead of being let off with a simple warning, or hell the cops telling the starbucks manager to fuck off for wasting their god damn time). Obi-Wan's cat and mouse game in the asteroid belts again against Jango Fett (and Boba!), Anakin giving into his anger on the sand people. The coliseum was cool too. Sure, people diss on the romanticsim and political intrigue the movie had to offer, and yes the little kid shit with c-3po and r2-d2 was annoying but that shits been in the franchise since Episode VI with the Ewoks... its part of the mythology of the series now that they will be selling TOYS based off the shit, but if you haven't noticed every movie falls into a different theme / category, despite how similar they are. I'm hoping in due time, just like with ESB, people will see that though they are different they aren't necessarily bad movies. They fill the niche, and bridge the gaps. In TLJ, we see the Skywalker has issues with the darkside, always have, always will. Luke didn't attempt to kill Kylo Ren in that tent, no he thought about it... he set out to, I mean why wouldn't you when all he had seen in Kylo's head was Snoke's corruption. Snoke was obviously physically weak, barely able to walk, but his force ability was immeasurable. In TLJ we see Rey and Kylo building up. Kylo will redeem himself and hook up with Rey, and start the bloodline that will lead to the "Grey Jedi" Or whatever they'll be called in the next trilogy. --- "There will be nothing to show that we were ever here... but stardust." - Pinbacker |
