3rd time in the last like 8 games where a mets starter went 7+ sterling IP and then the Mets lost due to defense, bullpen, and/or some combination thereof. When Syndergaard or whoever gives you 7 and no runs , and shitty defense allows runs and the lead is gone..... and that happens THREE TIMES IN A WEEK, theres a chance you may not be as good of a team as you thought... glad we had this crazy cushion but starting to see everything slowly fall apart...

I actually finally began my series replay a bit ago (thus is like my 5th time or so but going to add AAI2 and Layton vs Wright to this for the first time!)

I can claim I now really think 1-3 is a real drag and 1-2 is actually pretty enjoyable. Like the contradictions and stuff are boring but the investigations are interesting necause the story is well presented in that case. 1-4 still one of my favs and 1-5 is still great.

2-1 has some really humorous moments that get overlooked like when phoenix forgets Maya (And Payne) at the end but when you present his biz card I don't think o ever picked the joke answer of "Look at the name" instead of the phone #. And Nick is like "this name is very important. It told me who I am!"

2-2 is more convoluted than I remember and leaves loose ends. Like its never made clear if Gray actually drugged Mimi or not right? And did he just want her dead for the reputation of the hospital cuz that seems kind of weak? Why didn't he just fire her? What purpose does her dead serve him? The whole contradiction with the licence made no sense too. So did Inireally not have a licence? Then why did hotti say she did? Mimi took ini's licence from the burning car body? How did Maya not get shot with the bullet hole in the box? Etc etc. Too many weird questions left unanswered here....

Also. Replay is still broken. After Matheny already used his replay (on the first play of the game no less), when Bruce hit the go ahead HR he asked the umpires to check if Bruce stepped on first or not. Ump initated so didn't count as using a challenge, but how can the umps agree to re-look at something like that??? Does that mean they weren't paying attention initially as he rounded the bases? Why would they agree to look?

You need to put your best defensive OF out there in the 9th with a 1 run game. Jay Bruce with his plantar faciatis foot isn't going to cut it when you have Lagares on the bench. come the fuck on man. And how do you leave Wilmer Flores in to run the bases when I AM FASTER than him. Geez.

I also really hate Callaway "playing the matchups". He's a hypocrite with this too. He won't bat someone Lagares) who is as hot as he'll ever be because he's 0/8 lifetime vs the pitcher. But he's ok batting bruce vs someone else hes 4/28 against. And he'll bring in Blevins to go lefty lefty with Freeman when Freeman is 9/18 lifetime vs him. Bullshit. Pitcher vs Batter is a bullshit stat anyway unless you only look at the last 2-3 years tops. Because career-wise that shit goes way back too far, when both players are likely different kinds of players anyway.

I was really angry when they re-signed him. That asshole should not have a job in baseball. He should legit be in jail. It makes me furious that he's on my team for the 3rd year in a row now. I hate seeing his wifebeating face. I fucking hate that the Wilpons are cheap assholes looking to get a "discount" by signing a shitty player who they are deluded into thinking is a "fan favorite" and is the worst hitter in baseball, whose only asset is slightly above average speed. The dude is fucking slime and can't hit for shit so what the fuck is he even doing here? Why was he signed to a $2 million contract? He's veteran status so you can't send him down, he would need to be straight released (which I beg every day they do). I was not happy or comfortable from day 1 with this guy on my team, mid 2016.

But our dumbass new manager decides to use him to pinch hit in a critical spot, with 2 on and down a run instead of literally going to the best player who was on the bench (don't get me fucking started on the fact that Conforto doesn't start every day), or even literally anyone else you slightly trust to get a hit except for 0/17 Jose Reyes. Callaway has gotten really lucky I think with his moves. I have disagreed with a lot of them, but things keep working out anyway- but that's still not a valid defense of making bad moves and getting lucky. And then after the game today he basically says "Well we gotta get Reyes going". The dude fucking sucks at baseball and even if he didn't suck at it, he still sucks at life and he wouldn't be worth having on the team anyway.

Yes I'm angry. But much more at the fact that I'm finally boiled over on Reyes than the game (which was frustrating in its own right for the 0/9 RISP and letting the Nats run all over us, and score all their runs that way, and for failing to come back from last nights letdown), but Reyes is the top of the shit sundae.

I said it was an awful loss and it was. Don't see why y'all have a problem with that. I'm not allowed to be upset when your team blows a 5 run lead in the 8th inning and loses to your rival competing for the division?

And I only say tomorrow is must win because it's more about the Nats than the Mets. If the Nats win tomorrow I guarantee you they'll spark and get hot and win 15 of their next 20. That's why we need to win now , to stop them from going off. If the Mets lose, there's a god chance they start crashing and play under .500 The next 20 games or so.

They can prevent that by winning tomorrow.
Maybe you all need to cool it more. I didn't even go fucking crazy like I normally would after a loss like that because we have a cushion here.

I'm not complaining about a simple loss. I'm complaining about a horrific loss like that which can spark a lot of negative shit if not immediately nipped in the bud. Trust me. I KNOW. I'VE seen US do it to the Nats. This exact opposite situation happened in 2015 and the Nats completely collapsed and we want on a crazy streak after the reverse of this game happened then.

This is not over the top. It's a legit concern because I saw us do the same thing to them.

Not surprising that the bad thing was going to happen to the Mets admist a good thing happening, as it always does. But, as brutal injuries and "bad Mets things" go, this is relatively manageable. Sucks for Travis who is made of absolute glass

The guy the Mets called up to replace d'Arnaud is prospect Tomas Nido, who has a fantastic arm. It should be nice to have one guy who can hit (maybe) and one who can throw runners out. We'll see.

Feel real bad for Travis though. I've met/talked to him and he's really nice.
