iirc Gacha games make a lot more money than console games, with that mobile Fate game making more money in 4 years than MGS did in 32 and being the most tweeted game in 2019. Of course, those aren't the type of games the boomer console core players of this site's audience are. Although formerly ultra niche games like Persona, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Nier, Atelier etc. have all become a lot more mainstream. I think open sexuality in general is a lot more accepted these days. Western games are also a lot more willing to have sex scenes and even genitals.
