Dante!

After whittling it down from 100 characters down to just 2, it came down to Dante vs. Pyramid Head. Newcomer Dante ultimately pulled ahead of the dark horse Pyramid Head, and won 16 - 11.

Thanks to everyone for participating this year. I'm definitely planning on doing this again next year. As for my next contest, I'm leaning towards sitcoms, but let me know what you guys want.

Yes, and he's more then just a monster.

Silent Hill 2 spoilers

He represents all of the main character, James, negative traits. his sexual urges he cant act on due to his sick/dying wife, his aggression, his guilt, etc. In many ways, Pyramid Head IS James, just the other side of the coin.

Only in later Silent Hill games do they screw the pooch and bring him back for no fucking reason. He's specifically there as Jame's foil, and he's the main reason Silent Hill 2 is considered one of the greatest games of all time.

Gotta admit, definitely did not expect Snake to go out last round. I felt like it could have gone either way between PH and Dante, but I thought Snake was a shoe-in to win the whole damn thing this time around.

I'm not a Snake fan, but getting exactly third 2 years in a row sucks.

Maybe next year he can go for a Turkey.

We started with 100 characters nominated by CE, and we've now whittled it down to our final 2, Dante from Devil May Cry vs. Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2.

Dante is a newcomer to the competition, but was able to outlive past finalists Joel and Ezio and make it all the way to the finale.

Pyramid Head was in last year's competition, but went out in 28th. A bit of a dark horse, he managed to do much better this year, making it all the way to the finals

FINAL ROUND RULES:
You can save 1 character, that's it. The round will last slightly over 24 hours, and the character with the most saves at the end wins. The round will end at EXACTLY 1:00 AM Central time, July 25th. Any saves made after that time will not be counted.

Hot damn, was not expecting Pyramid Head to make it to the finals. This makes me super fucking happy. I had no interest in either Snake or Dante tbh, don't know who I would have voted for if it had been those 2.

Glad the best character from one of my favorite game series got this far.

Yes, they're offensive jokes. That's... the point. To make you uncomfortable so maybe you'll think about it instead of ignoring the issue, and maybe even get off your ass and do something about it.

Plus, they're also just straight up funny sometimes. There are some jokes that offend me, yeah. You know what I do? I move on with my life, wait for the next joke, and if the comedian overall tells jokes I'm not comfortable with, I don't watch more of their stuff.
