Topic | Did you ever go inside the Twin Towers? |
Vol2tex 09/11/17 9:30:49 AM #1 | I have a vague memory of going inside sometime in the mid 90s, but otherwise no. I guess I didn't really think about them much at the time, like I was shopping at the Century 21 right across from the Twin Towers a few days before the attack but I don't recall even looking at the towers. In retrospect, I wish I would have gone in more often. --- |

Vol2tex 09/10/17 7:52:05 PM #15 | boxington posted... did you have to be talented to attend art academies back then? You needed a recommendation from a master in order to take the entance exam to an academy like L'Ecole des Beaux Arts. You had to also demonstrate talent to get admitted to the master's studio as well. Today, new academies in a similar vein and tradition have popped up in the past 10 years. --- |

Vol2tex 09/10/17 2:56:52 PM #10 | We actually sold some Picassos at our art gallery. There is one we had that we were offering for $24 million. Seeing them in person is fascinating. I was never a true Picasso fan but I would be interested in reading more in depth about his life and work. I do know that he went to those traditonal art academies so he was indeed proficient at realistic style of drawing and painting. --- |

Shitty jokes has nothing to do with age. I live in NYC too and I remember that almost no one else in class seemed to know.
