I have a vague memory of going inside sometime in the mid 90s, but otherwise no. I guess I didn't really think about them much at the time, like I was shopping at the Century 21 right across from the Twin Towers a few days before the attack but I don't recall even looking at the towers.

In retrospect, I wish I would have gone in more often.

did you have to be talented to attend art academies back then?

You needed a recommendation from a master in order to take the entance exam to an academy like L'Ecole des Beaux Arts. You had to also demonstrate talent to get admitted to the master's studio as well.

Today, new academies in a similar vein and tradition have popped up in the past 10 years.

We actually sold some Picassos at our art gallery. There is one we had that we were offering for $24 million. Seeing them in person is fascinating. I was never a true Picasso fan but I would be interested in reading more in depth about his life and work.

I do know that he went to those traditonal art academies so he was indeed proficient at realistic style of drawing and painting.

It was interesting.

so how do you know she was drawing you?

jumping to conclusions, or did you confirm it?

I was able to see some of her sketchpad, then she got off at the same stop as me and I saw again as she walked past me. My exact attire and everything.

Yeah I don't think it's an age thing. It's a human thing, either people are sensitive to these types of events or they're not. Shitty jokes has nothing to do with age.

I'm particularly sensitive to 9/11 tho. I was the first kid in my school to find out and had to tell teachers what was going on. It was weird, I also knew of people who died.

I live in NYC too and I remember that almost no one else in class seemed to know. One kid I know was listening to 1010 Wins (which was surprising) since the teacher was absent and he told me what happened.

Autographs too, as well as the panels on them.

But I like seeing them (and others) in Artists Alley so you can ask for or watch them do drawings. This guy on Youtube in particular goes to all these Cons and records the comic book artists doing drawings.

In the cartoon world the beams stop as soon as it hits someone

They should have curved and kept following him instead of hitting the parademon.

They curve but not instantly. If you time it at the exact moment you can cause them to hit an unintended target. For example, Darkseid shoots Superman once and Wonder Woman blocks it with her bracers even though they'd normally go around her and hit Superman anyway.

Shouldn't they be traveling fast enough to have hit Batman before that moment anyway? I mean here:

dW5jZRW

It looked like super speed was needed to outrun them.

for the purposes of creating a cool looking animation / scene, the beams travel much slower in cartoons than the comics show them to travel. the reverse will also happen, in both comics and animations where superman doesn't dodge things he is clearly able to dodge.

I can understand if they make changes for visual purposes, but it just seems a bit farfetched that Batman can avoid being hit under these circumstances.
