I used to be a manager at Macy's and they have a zero tolerance for anything race related. We once had to fire someone who said the word to another colleague in the non-derogatory sense (she was Mexican, her daughter was half black) because a customer overheard and took offense. That particular incident also occurred after store hours. The customer was still in there because their transaction dragged out and our employee wasn't aware anyone was around. But because the customer complained the zero tolerance had our hands tied. So its kinda weird that "they conducted an investigation" is being used here when that investigation was probably just asking the employee if he said it.

Either way that has nothing to do with the assault. I just keep seeing a lot of people bring up the "investigation".

The only breathing issue I encounter is my glasses will sometimes fog up a little but repositioning they mask a little fixes that. Outside of that I barely even notice its on (unless Im outside and its hot) and I wear a cloth mask.

Why is it that this only seems to happen in America? Even here in Brazil I simply haven't heard of people whining about having to wear masks...

American's are entitled and conservatives like to encourage that entitlement. wearing a mask to prevent disease should not be a political issue, but we've turned it into one and it starts with the idiot in the white house. So when idiot say "don't blame trump! so what if he doesn't wear a mask, show me where he directly told them not to!"...this is what actions lead to.

a protected class is not preferential treatment. Its telling people you can't prefer one over the other. Telling a business they can't fire someone with the reason being "he's black" is not giving that person preferential treatment. If bigots didn't exist we wouldn't need to do it, but they show no signs of going away so here we are.

Its their compromise. They know if they simply tell people to stay inside the moron red hats there will pitch a fit. This is them saying "go head and go out, you won't be able to get drunk". People in that instance are likely to stay in or hold smaller gatherings at home instead of putting all those gatherings together in one building.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Can she not speak up for people of color getting more racially specific acting jobs while also not feeling ashamed? She doesn't sound ashamed or embarrassed. she's just saying "Looking back, i wish that role went to someone of the same race and going forward i hope we can work to change that. sorry for not realizing sooner"...its such a tame "apology" and there is nothing wrong with pushing for more racial diversity in voice acting/character portrayal.

it wasn't. how is taking a step back and saying "ok, its time we let racially specific characters be shaped by actors of that race for awhile"...her statement is the least offensive thing and yet people are upset at this notion for no reason. no one was upset at her for doing the voice. she chose to step up and say this on her own. More people are upset at her for that than doing the voice it seems.

I see no problem with her statement. Its not a big deal that she did that voice, but its also a nice thing that people are wanting to give more people of color roles voicing and shaping characters of their background and culture. Why would anyone take offense to that?

ok but why can't both happen? The easy things are getting done first. Those are things that these companies and networks can do on their own. Police Reform wasn't going to happen overnight, and that's not even factoring in that half the nation (including half the Government) is standing in the way of it. This group isn't acting like this is a replacement for reform. They're just making a move on their own to make a minor change that hurts no one and might make others feel good. No need to attack it.
