Bernie Bros was absolutely a propaganda term like "Obama boys" before it. Tony is correct on this.

Also if I recall correctly, "PUMA" was coined by the people who it described. Bernie supporters were not calling themselves Bernie Bros.

It definitely felt like part of the strategy in the Clinton camp was to paint Bernie supporters as a boys' club-- see the Gloria Steinem and Madeline Albright comments, for example.

I just played through this and beat it for the first time a few weeks ago. It didn't click with me at first either, but I definitely started getting much more into it toward the end.

The gameplay really doesn't evolve much, and I have some real complaints about some gameplay elements, but I'd say it does get better. Probably not enough to overcome any fundamental dislike you feel toward the game though.

Yeah, I've only played Scythe once, but I ended up using combat to get two stars right at the end and come back with a win that no one was expecting. Other than that, the most valuable thing seemed to be chasing down encounter cards-- the ability to get a mech essentially from those seemed almost too good.

I thought there were a few designs I saw that I disliked enough to have immediately eliminated that person if I were judging them. Haven't had a look at the majority, but I do have to question the judging in some respects.

Though Alex Werner's skewed my opinion. He had a super confusing planeswalker, and a creature with an ETB 'discard a card at random' except spelled out terribly.

Yeah, what the hell is this:

Naila and Hrun, Fused (mythic rare)
2GGWW
Planeswalker Naila-and-Hrun
2
+2: Find the lowest number greater than zero such that you control no creatures with that power. Create a green and white elemental creature token with power and toughness equal to that number. Then repeat this process.
-X: You may choose a Naila planeswalker card and a Hrun planeswalker card you own from outside the game. If you choose both, and their combined converted mana cost is X or less, put them onto the battlefield, then sacrifice CARDNAME.

Although to be fair, the ETB effect you mentioned isn't the same as random discard-- it's quite different, in fact.

Two collectibles can absolutely be the BEGINNING of one, particularly since it was also the first time they required a full set of collectibles to get to the true final boss and ending.

Wait, you didn't need to get everything to get the true ending in DKC2? I thought you did.

How does the burger measure up against the burger at Gramercy Tavern? If it's better I'll have to check it out next time I'm in NYC.

I didn't understand how it was like Zelda at first...then I got to the first dungeon, where I got the boomerang and used it and some bomb flowers to kill the boss. Which then rewarded me with the equivalent of a heart container.

Pretty fun game so far, though.

I'm still in college living with my parents, and I'm only working 4 hours every week as a musician at a damn Potbelly sandwich shop, so I'm not really in a position to speak about having extra money but

I would always save a ton of the extra money I made. Sometimes, I'd probably even force myself into a smaller budget than normal just so I could save more money. But I also would probably indulge myself a little bit sometimes and go get some good shit for dinner. I've been eating the same fast food that my mom brings home for a long time and the same 5 home cooked recipes for forever. I always love when I get to eat something a little more exquisite or tasteful. So, while I personally would want to save most of my extra money, I can't deny the allure of getting some nice, expensive meals here and there.

Nice, expensive meal doesn't equal $250 a person for a meal to me.

I think there is like only one place in pittsburgh that charges half that much and that's McCormick's at like $120 a steak dinner.

The most expensive restaurant in SF is like $600 per person.

(It's also incredible, but not a place I can justify going to regularly at all)

Saison is like $1000 for two if you both drink water

Unless you're not talking about Saison

I was talking about Saison. Isn't it around $600 with tax and 20% gratuity?

So, if you've already reached the cap, be aware that $18,500 in a Roth account is worth more than $18,500 in a traditional account.

But with traditional, you have some extra money sitting in your bank via the tax break traditional gets you. Be sure to invest that money!

So put it all into cryptocurrency? Got it

Legend has it that each character's entire arc was written by a different scenario planner. If that is true then FFVI broke ground in the literal art of storytelling, not just gaming.

I actually liked the split party dungeons in FF6.

I think what's so good about FF6 is that there's a lot there. It's like the team had a lot of different ideas and they went with all of them. So you get wide variety of characters and scenarios, some of which are more thought out than others.

instead of worrying about roth vs. traditional, just make sure to be putting in as much as you can afford

the cap is $18,500 per year for a 401k. until you're hitting that cap, the best thing you can do is simply put more in

then, if you somehow reach that, put $5,000 per year into an IRA

difference between traditional and roth is not going to be so huge

I'm hitting the cap, which is why I asked. Although I don't yet have an IRA.

I think the argument I've heard for not investing in a Roth 401k is that effective income after retirement is generally lower, and thus you'll usually fall into a lower tax bracket unless you have some moneymaking investments.

Still, I guess I'll keep my current Roth contribution and maybe consider going back to 50:50

I figure someone here is probably knowledgeable enough about this.

Does it make sense to put some percentage of my contribution into a Roth 401k? At some point I was splitting it 50/50 because I didn't care enough to figure this out, but it seems from what I've read that most people advise others to go either fully traditional with an optional Roth IRA, or mostly traditional with a very small percentage Roth 401k.

Is a Roth 401k only worth it if I plan to have large amounts of income from investments after retirement?
