I feel like this is negligence vs someone being an outright bad actor. Like, Musk would absolutely allow genocide to be promoted on his platform. Not only that, he'd probably comment "Interesting" on all of the posts.

I can only hope that all the issues with Twitter means that I no longer have to see "read the entire thread, it's good"

If I could offer a suggestion, it would be to not do all of the things you listed at once.

Start by reducing/cutting sugar, but trying to do too much immediately will make it much harder to keep up. The recommended daily intake for sugar is like 30 g, so keeping that in mind when looking at food/drink is something that can be helpful (eg "Do I really want to spend all of my daily sugar on one soda?")

If he eventually went to Lookout Landing on his own after a certain amount of hours of not finding him, fantastic. But he doesn't. He only appears there after you find him on a path.

I thought it was only the path to the Rito village but I think I've heard others say they found him on different trails. It's also nice if the game moves him closer to you, but I'm not sure that's been proven.

I never found him on a path. He just appeared in Lookout Landing.

Yeah I don't know exactly where you're supposed to encounter him, but I suddenly found him just standing there in Lookout Landing

Which makes me wonder just how long he was there for

I would not expect any worthwhile or nuanced comments to come out of a reddit thread

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the world because while there's more stuff, there's a lot more of the copy/paste design you see in other open world games. In BotW, this was mostly limited to Koroks and the Test of Strength shrines.

I probably need to find a new hat. I'm just using the the one from the Hateno questline, which...is not really my aesthetic

If you live in a one party consent state (I think only Oregon and Connecticut aren't), this is an easy problem to fix.

Assuming you're talking about recording, it's a lot more than just those two that require two-party consent

With BOTW it was "Oh look, another shrine."

With the exception of the test of strength shrines and the shrines that just gave you a reward out right, discovering a shrine felt like its own reward to me. They tended to be fun/unique little challenges. In a weird way they reminded me of special zones in Mario Sunshine where you lose the water pack.

It wouldnt shock me if BotW hasnt held up imcredibly well, especially considering Elden ring has come out since then.

I liked Elden Ring, but I had way more fun with BotW-- I'm pretty sure my opinion would be the same even if I had played them in reverse order.

I think the shrines, traversal, and non-combat portions of BotW kept it fresher for me by comparison. Elden Ring doesn't have that much that isn't just combat (but it does excel at said combat).

That said the Test of Strength shrines sucked.

BotW easily. One of my favorite games.

Odyssey was pretty meh outside of a few highlights.
