I wanted to like Vestaria Saga but holy hell that game is hot trash.

Production values of a RPG maker game (it was made in a SRPG maker afterall) but has a bunch of "GOT CHA!" moments that force you to reset the stage and start over. You like same turn reinforement garbage? That game is full of bullshit like that. The game was suppose to be free but instead charge $19.99 for the translation. That's too much for what is basically one of those cheap RPG Maker games that is flooded all over Steam.

and started watching her properly a little bit before she released the preview for KOMUGI MAXIMIZER (the 2nd original song). not long after that she had her ver2.5 model reveal as well as her first (and only) part of her Super Mario Sunshine playthrough and that was when i got hooked i suppose.

She had 0 english fans back then and only around 500 subs, but i don't know how popular she was then on iriam so maybe not really that obscure overall

what i do know is she's got near 6k followers on there now which is like, top 1% of the streamers there i think and there's at least several hundred active (many of which have been there for a few years...)

Tsuzurime Higasa was the cute umbrella-wielding vtuber in Paryi's Chucolala group that also had a few other people i posted in the past. I got pretty heavily into watching a lot of its members, and a lot of very surprising things have happened to them in that time (unbelievably, they've actually been more popular than hololive over the past few months thanks to exploding in china). but with all the good news, there was also a pretty sad announcement last month too, that she would be quitting. And so she did, at the end of the year.

A group i've found myself following a LOT more lately is Re:AcT, thanks in a large part to their newer, more active streaming members (paired with others like hano and ribon who grew on me more). The Maruchizu (Round Cheese) trio of Marumochi Tsukimi, Inumochi Tirol and Izumo Meguru are all relatively newer members that had their debuts around the middle of last year, and i was (and kinda still am) of the opinion that they mainly picked them due to a push for more streamers rather than singers in Re:AcT. This cover happened though, and while I'm again not going to pretend it's the best Happy Halloween cover out there (considering almost as many covered it last year as the year before...), it is a decent one.

That Enma Ruri original song happened because of this Botchi Boromaru group (responsible for that BOTCHIBOX album i think i linked some songs from in the past). I didn't notice that they also provided a song for this person around the same time until fairly recently... It's not anything that special, but i'm glad that she actually got a song in the first place. In her 3-person group, one of the members has more than 10 times as many subscribers as her, and the other has a rapidly growing chinese following on Bilibili, whereas she's still regularly streaming games like Dragon Quest 11S and Atelier Ryza 2 to under 10 viewers... I'm not sure how this song happened, but between her and Ruri, my opinion of them is that Botchi Boromaru might as well be saints.

It's got some EDM trappings so this was a little bit of a hard sell to me, but it's grown on me quite a bit since then. I think it plays to her strengths quite well. Ruri's song wasn't what i was most excited by though, this was. ViANKiE got an original song shortly before the release of this album, but it was an atrocious dubstep-filled mistake. I don't know how that one turned out so badly, but fortunately, the stealth release of this song more than made up for that. City pop was Emma Hazy Minami's comfort zone, and for the longest time i was convinced it also had to ViANKiE's... but i never expected she'd actually get such a song.

As Ive said, I do everything through the phone these daysI have only very limited internet for the computer, so downloading something is pretty much out of the question; and my phone flatly doesnt have the space for it. The originals battles were not fun.

Prelude is much better.

the pc version is limited but the ps2 and psp versions had most of prelude's mechanics (and i still liked the pc gameplay despite peak jank)

tbh i kinda prefer older versions of the first game over prelude, but prelude also has a little more content then them and the higher resolutions are pretty worthwhile. (i just miss the old sprite based battles even if it was janky)
