You think? I was under the impression he was running under the same ideology as his father which is that if you fix the federal reserve you basically fix the whole country and the dollar rebounds. Omg my dad accidentally signed up to prime and they were charging him for a few months for the membership, i had to go into his account(which was in effing spanish) and figure out how to cancel prime through the computer. It was a nightmare.

Can we at least agree that the cancel button should be on the home page and easily accessible? I feel like psychologically that could do the trick without having to change their practices too much.

Like for real if a $10-15 "unexpected" charge fucks you over you're probably not in a financial situation where you should be subscribing to a service.

It doesn't screw me over, but it is like they practically stole a good meal from me. Any subscription service should have to remind you that it is set to auto renew or have to get your approval for auto renewal and long ass agreements that no one reads should not be an excuse to continually fuck the consumer. We shouldmake business as transparent as possible.

What *would* be nice are simple on off toggles where I can stop start or temporarily pause it. Dollar Shave Club at least has a temp pause option with some decent time frames now.

See that is different. Thatd belike paying for a gym membership for a month but only wanting a daily deduction from your monthly subscription every time you went to the gym. So if your membership is $30 a month or $1 a day, and you go to the gym 2x a week, you are asking to only pay $8 and have the remaining $22 roll over to the next month. I think that is kind of pushing it, these companies would lose at least half their revenue from that and the people would still bebenefitting from the subscription.

A bunch of people here work for subscription services cuz pre enrolled auto renewal without the ability to opt out is absolutely shady business practice.

No one should be ok with this. It is no different than how gyms used to make you write a letter and mail it to them in order to cancel your membership.

I know i have been guilty of subscribing to something and then forgetting to cancel and getting charged the next month. These services should not get the ability to charge me indefinitely unless i unsubscribe. They should have to ask for permission every month imo

Relapsing is no good. Drinking just because you do not want to work on yourself is not a valid excuse to abuse alcohol or any drug for that matter. Just gotta make that clear. Life is about tiny victories. Not consuming the enemies temptations is about as real as it gets when it comes to victories because falling victim to the devil will send you right back on the path you worked so hard to get off of. It is never too late to quit.

After 15 years of binge drinking that ended with 4 ICU stays and a litany of other problems, I gave up the drink 2 years ago. I dont know if Ill stay sober forever but I know Ill stay sober today because the other thing is just darkness for me.

I was somehow able to keep a group of friends through all the bad times even though I was acting like a low life piece of shit, so the thought of breaking the promises Ive made is something that keeps me grounded and motivated to not drink or use.

I hope anyone trying to quit can finally find peace because alcoholism is a lonely fucking disease and there are no answers in that bottle.

It is a damn shame how drugs can ruin lives. A lot of folks read the horror stories and they say that'll never be me, not comprehending that the reason they interprete the story in that manner is because their brain is operating sub optimally. Common sense would tell you to stay away from stuff that literally ruins peoples entire lives. Oh well, you cannot fix everybody.

Respect. I have an associates in fine arts, my counselor tried to get me to go into mathematics but i was too dumb to realize what a blessing that would have been. I have thought about trying out a new career but i dunno, i was thinking of focusing on youtube and starting a relaxing music channel but it sounds too good to be true. I am a decent video editor and all you do is find royalty free music and videos and then make a 1 hour video of that and upload to youtube.

Thank you for your service. If it had not been for weed i also would have joined the military. I basically threw away my 20s partying like a loser. I met a girl 4 years ago and spent all of my savings on trying to impress her and then i ended up in jail then probation. Now i am 30 years old, i do not own a car, i have a bit of money to my name but it is honestly nothing, but at least i have my sobriety and my brain is working better than ever.

I will definitely consider the cold showers. Maybe not freezing cold but def stay away from the hot temperatures. I know once winter hits i will have to shower at the gym.

Thanks man, I live in the TN mountains and I fish at least 3 times a week, generally hike 1 to 3 miles to a good spot on the water, and i've been doing a whole lot more of it since i've cleaned up. It's just been tough, but i'm pushing through. I noticed after bills were paid and everything at the end of July and I wasn't spending $200+ a week on booze that I had a good bit of extra and got some new boots and gear with it. I appreciate the support, I was surprised when I first started going through all of this how many people on CE can be supportive and drop you a PM to let you know they are there if you need it.

Oh yeah you aren't just going to be saving money, now with that extra money you will be able to make it work for you by being able to invest it into education or investments like cryptocurrency or an index fund and then your money problems will be gone shortly. Then you will see also begin to see things differently. Man i live in illinois so it is mostly all planes here, last year i hiked almost all the state parks in illinois and lost 40lbs but i started eating junk food in the winter and put it all back on. Its sad, i used to be a personal trainer and now i need a trainer. You are on the right path bro. Movement + sobriety = bliss

I drank fairly heavily for close to 15 years straight after I turned 21.

I had some great times while drunk. Went on trips to meet people I have would have done otherwise. Felt free to be anything I wanted. Felt free to say anything I wanted. I managed to buy a home and do whatever while drunk the whole time.

And I also had some horrible times. I lost a lot of people who would have been life long friends. Burnt a lot of bridges that can never be rebuilt. After a rock bottom point I stopped drinking completely for over 3 years. Since everyone I hung out with drank, I lost all my friends, but kept at it. Because people said it would make things better.

Now I'm to the point where I don't give a fuck about any of it. Sobriety didn't solve any of my problems. It left me isolated and just as depressed as ever.

So now I drink again. If it kills me it kills me. None of us will live forever.

But I digress, good for you TC if it's working.

I was hoping your story would have a happy ending. Instead it was like you gave up after you made it on the yellow brick road after years of being side tracked and confused on what path to go on. I will be honest it aint all sunshine and rainbows being sober. I substituted smoking weed with eating food in order to feel good and now weigh 285lbs at 5'10. It is hard to tie my own shoes and it takes energy to even get up to go piss, but i am working on myself. My friends are not very good ones, if i stopped texting them first they likely would never hit me up, but i do not mind being the initiator. I know that as long as i continue to work on myself, surround myself with winners(even if it costs me $$$) i will end up on the right path.

Dude you can find happiness again, you do not need alcohol to get by. Yesterday i watched a clip of this korean women talking about the horrors of north korea, bro we have it so good in this country. You could do so much man, i hope you decide to become sober again and tackle life with the intentions to thrive. Find a pastor who win make you his disciple and learn about christ. I appreciate the positivity. Coming from someone who has been sober a month, after years of being drunk daily, sometimes a 5th a day and a 6 pack of beer, i'm still trying to find any kind of enjoyment in sobriety and it kind of sucks. Maybe further down the road things will get better.

I dropped soda like 5 years ago, get a taste for flavored seltzer water. If you aren't used to it, at first you probably will hate it, and think it's bitter, but eventually when you aren't intaking all that sugar, it gets a lot better and becomes a viable replacement for soda imo.

Nice! It'll take some time for your nervous system to adjust to being sober. If you have a car i recommend going to every state park & botanical garden close to you and walking. I helped a friend of mine cut back on his drinking and now he has saved up 30k it is crazy how much money he was spending drinking, but not just that, the time he spent drinking was also being wasted. So now by cutting his drinking significantly he has an extra 20-30 hours to put into a side gig.

I know exactly how you feel. You know what you gotta do? Work on yourself. Exercise, study, build things, make art etc.

Good job quitting drinking. Take it one day at a time. Even if you relapse one day and get drunk but went sober 3 weeks, start the next day and continue from 3 weeks and fix what caused you to relapse. You got thisbro.

The only reason i can think of is because the virus originated from china but even so they should still be transparent with their numbers so that the rest of the world can understand how big of a threat this virus is. They are making things worse by not disclosing their true case numbers and deaths.

Covid is turning into an episode of south park. I am waiting for the headlines to be "covid makes your dick fly off".

Long story short i worked with this total douche who showed me what he did for a living. He recently started this business where he basically finds clients that require digital services like logos, social media marketing, website creation and maintenance, app creation and maintenance etc. So he finds clients that need these services/products and then he outsources the work to people on fiverr and other contacts he has and pays them a percentage of the sale.

So i was thinking of just copying him, the guy started out clueless about tech and he was turning a decent profit before the pandemic.

Seems like really easy work honestly and high earning potential.

What do you guys think? Should i steal this dudes idea?
