Lol I won the mini Maxx C challenge against an Onomat player. I went first, he Maxx C'd me, I was able to get out Gameciel with Kyoutou Waterfront with 5 Tokens, plus Apolloussa with 4 Counters and an Ash in hand, to his 20+ cards in hand. I was able to stifle his next turn leaving him with only 1 monster in attack and discarding like..
10 cards maybe lol. I could've OTK'd but I messed up and left him with 400 LP and I exchanged my Apolloussa for Equimax and Borreload Savage with 4 Counters as well as refresh my Kyoutou Waterfront with 5 more counters. He couldn't get over my negates the next turn so he just surrendered.

Definitely saved the replay lol

Ah okay thanks! Hit the Raye, Save the Day lol. I was trying to outgrind one with my Unchained but I couldnt draw into my DFissures or Ice Dragons Prison or they'd grab their s/t removal and negates too fast lol

i just found out it was a thing last night and watched a youtuber do 1 duel. his opponent took 5 minutes on the first turn and summoned like 10 different monsters. i don't like all this xyz/link/etc summons that slow and complicates the game so much.

i loved duel links early on but then they added in more on top of being pay to win and just quit after awhile. it's the only mobile game i actually put money into to get a bit of a meta deck but then it was just obsolete after they added in more stuff. have a feeling master duel is just gonna be even worse about it. the game just came out but give it a couple months for the meta to develop.

Well Master Duel is supposed to reflect IRL (Idk why the weird banlist and missing sets) as Konami eventually wants to use it as the go to for remote dueling events/tournaments.

The good thing is that they've also said that they're making past/alternate formats official and that they'll be included in the game. It's all about just waiting how and when they decide to implement them.

Yup, having fun with it so far. Almost done with my Sky Striker deck, now working on Salamangreat and Invoked. I am looking forward to the two new Sky Striker cards coming soon: Sky Striker Mobilize Linkage and Strategic Striker H.A.M.P.

I ran into a buncha Sky Striker decks and they always annoy me lol. Death by a thousand pokes. Mind sharing with me when to hit them for optimal results? ;)

They probably are important its just I have not felt the urge to use many of them yet. I have just been recycling cards for archetypes that I know I am never going to use and been getting the cards I want that way

And that's fine but it just goes back to what I said about diminishing returns/resources on rewards. Hoarding gems is cool, just try to get em where you can for now is all I'm saying.

My first deck is Galaxy monsters, I've won like 9 of the first 10 ranked matches I've played but that's because most of them had spent no time deck building (one dude really sat down a vanilla Sparkman and ended his turn I feel so bad lol). My one loss was to a Batteryman deck that had a Utopia the Lightning to overrun my boss monsters.

Working towards building my pendulum pet decks: Pendulum Magicians and Peformapals. Main issue is these guys are ultra dependent on having just the right extra deck so it will be a while before I'm ready to use them. Contrast with Galaxy-Eyes where having Number 62 stacked on Afterglow Dragon will win you the game if the attack goes through.

I was looking up Rank 8 Blue Eyes decks recently and there's a cool little line you can do with the Galaxy-Eyes Cypher line, but you prolly already know it lol

Gems are always important lol. It's Yu-Gi-Oh. You're gonna get the itch to play different decks every so often and a lot of research has shown greatly diminished returns on mission rewards for gems

Also maybe its me but there seems to be no advantage to moving up ranks in competitive. Its seems pretty arbitrary unless they will give out end of season rewards but I dont see anything that indicates such.

Also those 2 card packs they give you after each duel are TRASH

You get gems for each promotion and...yeah. I hear Platinum is a shit show so I'm not really in any rush lol

Yeah Master Duels is kinda unhinged. The banlist is OCG April 2021 or something so crazy shit like Rhongobongo and VFD run rampant. And to curb these combos you need hand traps which the unlimited Maxx C is supposed to do...but the only 1 duel format is shitty because some decks don't care about certain hand traps (coughEldlich) so you can't really side in properly.

It annoys me to no end there are cards that can't be dismantled. Have 4 copies of a card and since it's one of the cards that can't be dismantled I'm stuck with it at 4. It's also an SR, so it's fairly valuable dismantle.

Yeah those legacy pack cards are...a cheap participation trophy reward by Konami.

I fuckin' LOVE virtual worlds so far. I was playing against a ancient gear player and had an awful opening hand. I was able to come back with the True King of Calamities rank 9 dude.

I've been out of the game since 2015 admittedly and had no idea you could control 6 monsters if you synchro/Xyz/Link to the extra zone. I thought it was 5 monsters period. If you use the extra zone, you miss out on one of your zones. Was a huge surprise when I actually pulled off Virtual World City's 4+ ability.

all the grabbing enemies are pointless anti-fun bullshit, they serve absolutely zero purpose but to make you say "fuck i got grabbed" and then hope one of your teammates cares enough to help. i bit the bullet and just committed to using the perk for it indefinitely. you need to be able to break out of things on your own, but the "amazing" community will rip your head off if you criticize the game at all

The Iron Will perk is so fucking clutch and underrated. Just had a match where our entire team went down (Bet-C is no joke), but I managed to pop it before the mission-failed screen, and had just enough time to run over to an ally and revive them before the perk wore off. Just barely ended up winning that one.

It's great especially when paired with the Driller+Cryo Cannon+Vampirism. Pretty much a free revive since healing during Iron Will negates the die again effect

I made an Unchained deck for shits n giggles because it was cheap to make and I'd feel like it's a bit trolly. Put 3 D Fissure, 3 Dark Holes, 3 Torrential. Ran into a weird Gouki warrior deck and I won pretty handily especially since I drew into DFissure after a couple turns. At one point he had a board of 4 monsters including Access code and Phoenix Gearfried to my one unchained lowbie and I just kept floating lol. Reminded me of the mystic tomato/giant rat days

Yeah the potential of this game is unreal. Konami can easily make that komoney and with good faith without feeling too scammy too (besides the p2w gems which have awful return ratios). They just gotta put in some Duel Links-esque pve content, maybe make the PvP rewards a bit better (wtf at random normal 800 atk monsters as rewards), and maybe just in general improve the reward system so that diminishing returns aren't so bad. Seriously hoping they don't screw up because what they have initially is a bit unpolished but great.

I will say this tho. Even tho the game gives a great burst of free stuff in the beginning, be super sure of what you want to build as your first deck, and maybe your second if they're not too material/luck intensive. It's easy to see that the game has diminishing returns for the mission rewards the longer you play it.

What's crafting refer to in this context? You literally gather raw materials together to construct specific cards?

Every card has a rarity. Normal, Rare, Super Rare and Ultra Rare. To craft a card you need 30 mats of said rarity. If you have a card that you don't/won't need, you can break it down into 10 mats of the rarity that that card is. So essentially, 3 trash cards you don't need = a card you do need.

It's free to play and you might need to put in like 6 hours tops to afford enough hidden packs to build a deck. Besides that uh... it's only as much a time sink as you make it.

It depends what deck really. Some are really UR intensive and some not so. Using the crafting system is the way to go.

Damn that's crazy. I guess you can have long duels still lol. Also, the dude shouldn't have forfeited cuz then he gets no rewards from your guys' long ass duel lol.

I faced a nub so instead of full comboing their ass and getting them to uninstall the game, I would summon only 1-2 monsters a turn and give them a false sense of back and forth <__<
