The irony of this being that Yorkshire pudding is traditionally a lunch for miners, given the high caloric density. It's about as working-class as food gets, if you look just at the history. It's even managed to resist the trend of poor people food becoming rich people food (lobster being the best-known example) because it's made from relatively cheap staples, though it has definitely made its way onto expensive plates.

Don't get me started on why the French translation for Shepherd's pie is "Pat chinois." I mean, since we're on historical food stuff.

I'd say that review is very fair and on point.

I always found Fable to be over-hyped, it wasn't bad, but it was so generic it felt meh. Fable II and III were both unadulterated garbage.

Like others have said, modern companies don't care about optimization. Also, many people are idiots and just buy ram that simply isn't a good match for their CPU, effectively losing performance.

I never had those sorts of dreams when I was in school, but I occasionally do now.

Really wish I understood why that is so. You'd think at one point that one's self-consciousness would realize that the scenario is not possible and just let go. I can feel those dreams causing anxiety, which I don't approve of.

As long as she's not a commie who screams about how awful society is because she made poor choices in life (the usual lack of accountability).

That is oddly specific.

Long story short, just had another nightmare where I had an assignment to hand over and I was a day late. Back when I was in school, it meant losing 10% of the assignment possible total grade for each day the assignment was late.

I've been done with school in quite a while, but I just keep having nightmares, about once a month, about being late for either an exam/class/assignment, and those dreams are always very realistic, unlike some of the more garbage dreams.

Really wish it would stop since I can kind of feel myself being stress even when sleeping.

And yet, much like homelessness, most of the available resources are for women victims, shocking nobody.

That is the issue with most video games. You either are a goody two shoes helping out every stray beggar with thier problems or you are burning down the orphanages while twirling your mustache. Not too much middle ground.

KOTOR II made a few interesting deconstruction of the good guy scenario with Kreia. There is a point where you can help a refugee by giving him money and she immediately chastise you for giving something to someone who hasn't earned it, and is not capable of hanging on to it, which will eventually cause misery for them and others. And the worst part? She's right, because while she's preaching you, you can see a cutscene where the guy you just gave money to is accosted by other refugees/thugs who noticed he had cash, and he's immediately mugged/killed. There is also a quest where a mother is looking for her child or something, and if you decide to resolve it by basically saying "good luck, I am sure you'll find her," instead of actively helping her, Kreia is very pleased that you let her solve her own problems.

I tried doing a Renegade run after beating it as Paragon and quickly lost interest in the game because it just wasn't fun to be a dick for no reason like that. It can sometimes be entertaining to not be the good guy, but so much of that was just like "Hello! How are you?" "Eat shit and die.", which is so absurdly exaggerated that it's just kinda dumb.

Pretty much. I just want companies to realize that a "evil" option does not necessarily means that your character HAS to be an asshole to everyone. You can have a villain that is a nice person to most people, but is so dangerously pragmatic that his ability to empathize goes out the window the moment that the ends justifies the means. Tactics Ogre let us cling together actually does a good job of putting your character in a situation where he HAS to a villain to succeed no matter what; the circumstances in which his country is in basically forces him to. He's not a bad person, per se, but just being nice would never get the job done.

Cry, I really love anime that involves being in a game/leveling etc. I was hoping this would be a good one I missed. I'll give the first season a shot but I'm reading Dungeon Crawler Carl series right now which rocks, so even a good anime would only get some of my attention.

I think I heard another season of Of Grimnar and Ash is going to come out soon, I need to look that back up, also never did finish Orc Slayer, so I guess I can slake my thirst a bit on that.

Don't really have the energy to actually play an MMO anymore....I know..that is really sad.....but instead I like reading litrpgs or watching anime about em.

Want to know the saddest thing about Log Horizon? They actually nailed the MMO aspect of it. What they say is not contrived or dumb, it's normal mmo shit that makes sense. The problem is the Gary Stu protag, the rest of the generic cast, the story, and the utter lack of urgency.

As far as Grimgar of Fantasy and ash, is a good isekai with a good manga and anime adaptation that really nails the mmo element as well as the emotional and social aspect that would happen in a group of people that not only are out of place, experience constant failure, and who really do not work really well together... initially. As someone who loves to heal in mmo's it really connected to me on a spiritual level...

Also, Barbara is best girl.

It's very much like Overlord. I mean, in Overlord, the protagonist and his npc's are so ridiculously overpowered that the only actual threat that happened was when one of them was turned against them. But at least Overlord had somewhat interesting characters, unlike Log Horizon which is basically the definition of generic garbage. Every single time I gave it a chance it felt like FINALLY they might be going somewhere only to end up in a big fat NOPE within 2 episodes.

But hey, do give it a fair chance, people have different tastes.

Not gonna spoil, but long story short: there are very, very little stakes... in anything. Whenever something big and bad happens, it's handwaved away like nothing even faster than the time it took to set it up. The main protagonist is basically a Gary Stu.

People do that all the time. Any game which gives you a choice between being "good" vs more "evil", people tend to choose good in the overwhelming majority of times because they don't want to play a character that's an ass. Didn't like 90% of players picked paragon for their runs of Mass Effect? Pretty sure most people also picked NCR in Fallout: NV over Ceasar's Legion, which I could actually understand even from a gameplay perspective since CL route was almost unfinished.

I dunno... I actually bought Trigun and every time I watched it... I can't explain it. I just don't see the hype. I don't understand why people think it's that good. I mean, it's not bad by any means, and I understand people have different taste, but it just seems bland? Nicholas D. Wolfwood was the only thing I enjoyed about the thing.

Did he see it coming?

That's the key point. Forgiving people that are willing to condemn their past behaviour and have since made amends is reasonable. Forgiving people that refuse to admit they've done anything wrong and insist that nobody should have a problem with their behaviour, less so.

Except for the part where every single time someone has been confronted with such action, they've always apologized, and yet the crazies don't forgive them like they did Trudeau. Trudeau got a free pass, much like he got a free pass for the rest of his more shady actions while being PM and prior to.
