Well, I was going to post about the Sony Press Conference for the PS5 today, but they canceled it because of the protest and riots and looting happening all over the country.

It was the right decision, but I could use some good news today, or this year, but alas the PS5 news has to wait. Stay safe out there everyone.

Still moving, it stinks. I had dead skin removed from my stomach ulcer on Thursday, and as of today it still feels like she's cutting into my flesh right now. Because of the opioid crisis I got zero pain medication for my giant gaping wound, and I can't move to ky left side at all.

How are all of you doing?

At this point in my life I'd rather just stream things than worry about keeping track of DVD's or Blu Ray's, or getting up to change disk every hour or so. I feel like it's being lazy, but it's just more convenient especially if I'm cherry picking episodes like The Simpsons at 3 in the morning.

Oh, my wife does work at a casino. She makes more money dealing with the high roller clients than trying to fix people through a broken system. Plus, she would need her PHD to really make decent money in clinical psychology. Therefore, she deals with rich jerks who pay her very well for minimal contact. (That takes a lot of mental gymnastics too.)

Think of Molly Flynn in Molly's game, but with hotel rooms instead of drugs and high stakes poker games. She books bus tours, flights, and special rooms for the rich guest and the entertainers that come to the casino.

You want Pepsi in your room instead of coke, she is your lady.

Movie was still trash.

I finally watched Joker. Yeah, it wasn't that good in my opinion. Joaquin Phoenix was great and deserved his Oscar, but every other aspect of the film felt shallow. It was as if a freshman psychology major decided to write a film, and add a few comic book elements to please the fanboys.

Spoilers.... just in case.

So Arthur is on 7 different medications, and has a laughing disorder. The funding for his therapy dries up because they need to pay the sanitation workers because of the garbage strike. (Which was never hinted at or resolved.) He can't get his medication through other means? Then he was clearly going crazy before he stopped taking his meds. We also never actually see what medication he's on for all his issues. Don't tell me what he's taking for what's ailing him isn't important if you bring it up a dozen times, and it's the motivation for the final act. It was just a mess. My wife felt the same way, and she's got a masters degree in clinical psychology. It was just surface level crap to justify the big Crime Alley reveal at the end.

End spoilers...

It was a mess. How did the rest of you feel?

I've been so buy with this moving stuff that I have not gotten a chance to finish the Final Fantasy VII remake. I'm on the last chapter, and I just need to take the time to finish the game, but it won't happen until we finish moving mid next week.

Bank Robber is wanting me to download and play Streets of Rage 4 with him once I do finish moving into the new house. The reviews have been stellar and beat em ups hit that nostalgia button for me as I use to play with Oreon and Uzi all the time as kids. The Final Fight games come to mind and all the old Ninja Turtle games bring back memories too. Just one more week once the floors go in, and we have our house. One week!

In the year 20xx, Geeks are forced out of their introverted ways, and back into the cold sterile bosom of, "The World." (Soooo Bright!)

Stores, churches, beaches, and other places of gathering, are reopening forcing Geeks everywhere out of their hobbit holes in the shire of our souls, and out into the swamps of Middle Earth, towards Mt. DOOM!

With a vaccine over a year away, and the world needing them, will Geeks be able to rise to the challenge of our rivals, will us Geeks be the last known Survivor. Or will we be stalked in the night leaving us all wondering, will there even be, "Life After Geeks!"

Opening Question: What game do you regret not finishing?? (As the world may be ending it may be time to reflect upon our past.)

Wrap up from H1Geek1 next...

Bridesmaids was an an average film. Maybe I just don't like Kristen Wigg. She is the reason why I'm worried about Wonder Woman 84 being trash. Heck, the first Wonder Woman movie wasn't that great, but it had enough e enjoyable moments to be passable. Now you're adding in buzz kill Wigg, and it could get bad fast.

Anyway, last post. Thanks for keeping the topic going. 12 years strong this July.

When I first started dating my wife I came over to her apartment, and we were talking about shows and films, just getting to know each other, and I stumbled across The Indiana Jones Trilogy, and The Dark Knight Trilogy on blu Ray.

At that point I knew had to see this woman naked. Plus she went out and bought the first season of Person of Interest on blu Ray for me too that Christmas. I was madly in love by then though.

Pick a topic title folks. I want everyone to be happy with the topic this time around.

How about, "The Geek After Tomorow 2:"

Then you chaps come up with a clever sub title, as I'm still in the process of moving, and way too busy and tired to come up with at I string of words that make sense.

Also, Ruby Rose quit as Batwoman and will be recast for season 2. I figured this was coming after she nearly became paralyzed on set and has to work like 15 hour days. That's not for everyone, especially when you're three continents away from your home, and you're working long hours and nearly dying.

Let's see who they recast in the role.

The dumbest thing I saw today was a bunch of idiots in North Carolina going to gatherings and parties to intentionally get Covid. Because they didn't believe that covid actually exist.

Then Warner Brothers decided to give Zach Snyder 30 million dollars to finish and release the Snyder cut of Justice League streaming on HBOMAX next year.

I'm going to repeat what I said to Bank Robber earlier today, "Justice League was barely above trash, and this Director's cut is going to be trash adjacent."

The bad news is our dumb ass governor, and the dumb ass Mississippi Gaming Commission has decided to allow casinos to reopen at 50% capacity starting on Thursday, and that means that my wife is going to head back to work soon. I've been busy with getting everything set up at the new house. I need boxes, paint, and new flooring all before we move in next month. Plus, I've been going to wound care twice a week for an ulcer on my tummy, which hurts like a *****! I got an ultrasound which showed no issues underneath, just a pesky sore that is slow in healing.

We also spent the last few days going through twenty years of my mother's stuff, and that lady was a pack rat! She kept everything everyone ever gave her, cards, bears, financial papers, and about twenty different candles. My brother was the same way when he died last year, and so we've been cleaning, and it has been surprisingly fun.

I grew up super poor, and didn't have much, and wanted for everything, and made due with the little I did have. Which is why I don't have a lot of dreams either. When you grow up poor and desperate then you learn to not be a dreamer at a very early age, and learn to focus on the here and now. A lot of times when I did get excited for something it lead to disappointment. I just became a realistic person at an early age.

In fun news, not really, some employee leaked the entire game of, "The Last of Us: Part 2." I guess he or she was upset that Sony and Naughty Dog delayed the game until the pandemic is over, and they weren't going to get bonuses for a while because they're linked to game sales. Therefore, they leaked the game forcing the powers that be to release the already finished product, and get the bonuses sales promised in the contracts immediately when they really need the money.

I see both sides of the argument, but it still seems like a bit of a heel move. Anyway, 51 more days until released now. June 20.

That is odd P.O. because I saw the video of Marc dying, and he was sitting in the street, stationary as well, and this B**** looked like she was on her phone too, and just smoked him. He died from chest trauma and brain trauma, but his face just hada broken nose and he looked so intact.

I always joked that I would never become a motorcycle rider until the ground was made of marshmallow fluff. It was just something I said as a joke motto, but I always liked motorcycles, but will never ride one myself. It's just not something I'm interested in at all as I don't think it's very safe. That's why the "Starving Artist" is a real thing because success and money and adulation create laziness and complacency. Plus age and distraction play a huge role in the quality of work as well. (You could work on your next project, or go to an island with your wife, girlfriend, or mistress.)

I saw a documentary (my wife was watching Reelz on television) and there was one on RDJ, and some former friend of his, from the Less Than Zero coke and near death years, and he said that RDJ was a better actor when he was lingering between life and death.(think Chaplin) Crazy guy blamed his wife keeping him sober for his decline in quality acting.

If anyone has seen Doolittle they can decide for themselves if this theory is true.

I like to think that people are inherently good, but my life experiences tell me otherwise. I guess technically I'm insane because I keep thinking people are good, and all evidence suggest otherwise. Repeated hope is insane.

Thanos in the MCU is just a wounded kid that needs serious mental health help; because he never got over what happened to him as a kid. (Just like Batman)

That's why he didn't find a more useful or permanent solution to his plan once he got the Infinity Gauntlet. He didn't rationally think about how best to use this power, he only thought about how he could best prevent another child from suffering like he did.

Most childhood trauma victims never fully recover from their pain. We just learn to cope, but Thanos never did. I never got over my father attacking my mother as a kid. It's why any time a door opens I wake up ready to fight. My wife just doesn't close the doors in the house anymore. It's not rational, but it happens. It's also why they showed what happened to him as a kid. Clearly he's not thinking rationally, he's in pain.

Batman is a great parallel to this because going around in tights at night dressing like a bat, and punching other criminally insane people is not sane. They honestly don't go to jail when he does this, and they don't get the help they need either. It's much like me not closing doors, it's not logical, but it makes me feel better. A better use of his money and time would be to use his vast wealth to fund the health care system in Gothan, but it won't personally make him feel better.

In other words, I understand Thanos. I even like and understand what he did. Even if it didn't make sense on a grander scale. It was never about the end results, it was about him selfishly feeling better and not helpless.

I love Spider-man 2099. The comic needs to have another run because it was great, and I still have the comics in my long box in ny hallway closet.

I'm also enjoying Final Fantasy VII Remake. It is a very pretty game, and the combat is fun too. Voice acting isn't too bad, but I would have made a few changes in the ADR, but it's overall a great experience.

The only other problem is my cat, Lord Beerus, keeps attacking me with kisses whenever I play. Something about the game or the music makes him want to jump and kiss my face until I stop playing the game and play with him.

I liked Captain Marvel, but I didn't love it as much as my wife. She's a 90's kid, kind of like most of us in here, and a woman, and a borderline feminist. (I once told her she was too weak to push me up the ramp at my house, and she did it out of spite. I never questioned her strength again, and she never lets me forget it either.)

My point is that clearly the film isn't for us, but I see the target they were aiming for, and it misses for us, but not for her. I think of it like Black Panther. I love that film, it's literally made for a middle aged black man to gush over that film. My very white wife looked at me after the credits in the empty theater and said, "I'm well aware how white I am after watching that film. I would be uncomfortable watching this in a theater without you."

I personally don't like the choices made in Captain Marvel, but I'm not going to call her Captain Msrysue, and be a jerk. It's like calling Black Pnther, "Negro Cat." Let's be better than that.

I started compiling a list of songs my wife said defined her childhood like Starlord. She's 3 years older than I am, and grew up in the country. I'm a city boy, city scum or dweller as she calls it, and our music varies a lot within that 3 year difference. It also varies a lot because obviously I grew up with parents who loved Motown and R&B (I'm Black), and she grew up with more country music and pop/alternative. (She's as pale as a ghost) I didn't grow into my own until I was high school college age.

3 years and a change of scenery makes a huge difference in our musical selection. I'm sure it will change yours a lot too.

I'm going to interrupt this dispute about vocalizing or the written word to say teo things.

1. The Bravely Default 2 demo is up on The Switch. (Damn demo killed my battery.)

2. Starting to hate humanity. (The local government issued a curfew and a closing of non essential businesses on Friday night. People are upset and foaming at the mouth because things are more closed to save lives.)

The longer this pandemic goes on the more hate grows in my heart. Like The Grinch.

Congratulations on getting engaged Shadow. Getting married was the best decision I have ever made.

My only advice is to make sure you talk about and hash out things like religious preferences, child discipline, conflict resolution, and finances. People say that getting married doesn't changed anything, but your whole life is about to change.

Just make sure that the person you're getting married to is the right petqon for you, and that you try to grow together instead of apart. Relationships are ways hard worwork.

In geek news I am very close to finishing Breath of Fire 2. It's basically my dialysis game. I play it 3 times. a week during my painful dialysis treatments, and it helps to pass the time.

I stopped trying to go to sleep at dialysis became if I did the nurses and techs would find a way to wake my happy ass up during treatment anyway. Either to give me medicine, tell me my blood pressure is low, or a few times because I was bleeding to death, and now I just stay awake.
.
The next game on the dialysis playlist is the Grandia HD collection. Grandia still has one of, if not the best, turn based battle systems every created.

Stay safe out there and keep gaming.

My wife and I disagree about a lot of things, and one major sticking point is Faith in Humanity.

I would love to believe that humans are good and will do the right thingwhen pressed.

My wife believes the opposite. She has no faith in humans, and thinks and knows people will not do the right thing.

"The individual is smart, intelligent, and cunning. People are dumb, ignorant, and panicky."

I do not know how this will play out, none of us do, we can just only make guesses, and hope for the best.

My sister and her kids just visited my house, and after they left, I bleached down the door knobs, and the chairs because of the potential of this virus.

Let's be clear, things have changed. And that's all we know for now. Let's just take this one day at a time. But I'm scared. I wish I wasn't, but I'm scared. Every sneeze or cough or loss of breath I'm terrified.

So, we can continue to argue or just be prepared as best we can, and continue to live or lives the best we can considering the dire circumstances.

Please be as kind to each other as possible. It's all I'm asking.
