You bring your experience from other games or media in general in with you and make an educated guess on what interests you. You should pick something that looks interesting to you and play THE game and learn it before you start worrying about what is ideal Dude, dont bring a min/max mentality into a game youve never played before. Thats no fault of the game if you go in with that mindset and choose wrong I dont know what the fuck Im getting into when it asks me to choose/create a character in a game like Disco Elysium or Divinity Original Sin. But thats fine! Thats what I want an RPG to be. I want to use a vague understanding of what I know and like and see if I can apply it to this game and have fun. Or maybe try something That normally wouldnt interest me but the fact that it is a choice is enticing. What I dont want is 8 selections and to say eh doesnt really matter. Thats bad game design. --- |

Thats what RPGS have been since their inception. You make choices and build a character. The man can create interesting worlds but he cant write a character or narrative worth shit. Theres a sense of place in the PT thats completely lost in the ST. And Ill echo what I said about Jar Jar in the topic about him. That race had more character development than any other alien race in any of the other movies combined. GL should have penned out the Universe, characters and story and been humble enough to to let someone else fill in the details and flesh it out. People were too enamoured with the idea of Lucas creating a new Star Wars trilogy that no one stopped to ask any questions --- |
