Another thing is that there's a direct point of comparison, Dark Souls 3 is the same engine but plays at 60. These games should feel pretty similar, instead they don't due to frame rate.

It's easier to tolerate old games when they have nothing in common with modern games. But these were 2015 and 2016 releases.

They dont play the same because of entirely different mechanics.

Yeah I was hoping the rest of the dungeons were going to be as in depth as Stormveil. I was blown away by it on my first playthrough.

Same, same, same.

Large interconnected levels with multiple approaches, shortcuts, secrets, bosses, etc. My first play through I probably spent at least 8 hours alone in Stormveil.

Everything else is very straightforward and basic by comparison.

The sword is honestly the last thing I would think about that makes the genesis version better.

Spoilers: I am referring to the Genesis version as being far superior in every way. Its not even close to me. I literally just played them both, its a night and day difference in quality.
