They want all the politics and other stuff here because they know there are vast differences of opinions on the subjects. It's so out of touch. Allen refused to ever do this, he recognized that dividing the user base that way would only serve to make people more toxic. His overall rationale was to not use the biggest stick until necessary so that people on average wouldn't push things to their farthest extreme. Seems that's out the window now, though there were hints in some other dead policy decisions that the new admins cbf to look to the past. Why dont they just get it over with and kill the boards entirely? Why wait? Because they're dependent entirely on us. If they kill the boards too soon they know they'll lose users and thus lose money. So they're taking it slow, trimming off the fat, and bidding their time. Every board is on the chopping block, it's just a question of when. For the record this is what Fandom does, they kill sites and move on to the next, as well as resort to AI to fill in guides which give players misinformation.
