I would say the progression system is different but battling is the same atb stuff

that's fair but it essentially boils down to the fact that in base ff4 you have no character customisation besides equipment

I always thought the DS remake was kinda ugly

PSP or pixel remaster imo. Feel like pixel remaster is the ultimate most juiced up version of the original snes release, but the psp version has some nice graphical improvements that give a lot more charm and personality to the towns and such

can you please explain why you value some graphical differences over an entirely revamped battle system that actually has depth?

Have you ever felt the rush of pressing up and down on the D pad half a dozen times and then selecting the highlighted piece of text, knowing that you will do 50% extra damage because the enemy's color is the opposite of the color you picked?

it's literally the only way i'm able to feel pleasure

i loved CBC 2002. but cbc 2003 might be even better:
me: And then what about the second contest, in 2003?
ChatGPT:
In the GameFAQs Character Battle Contest of 2003, commonly referred to as C.B.C. 2003, the winning character was Magus from the game Chrono Trigger. Magus, the enigmatic and powerful sorcerer, managed to garner the most votes and emerged as the victor in the second contest. His popularity among fans of Chrono Trigger, known for its captivating storyline and memorable characters, propelled him to claim the title of the most popular video game character in the 2003 GameFAQs contest.

don't know why you guys got dumb chatgpt

me: In the context of old internet lore, do you know what is LUE?
ChatGPT:
Yes, I'm familiar with LUE, also known as the LUEshi Forum. LUEshi (pronounced "loo-eh-shee") was a sub-forum on the popular internet message board GameFAQs back in the early 2000s. LUEshi stood for "Life, the Universe, and Everything" and was inspired by the famous phrase from Douglas Adams' science fiction series "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
LUEshi gained notoriety for its unique culture and bizarre community. The forum had few rules and attracted a large number of users who engaged in random and often nonsensical discussions. The topics ranged from humorous and irreverent to outright absurd, and the community developed its own inside jokes, catchphrases, and distinctive style of posting.
LUEshi became infamous for its "griefing" activities as well, where members would organize raids on other forums or websites for entertainment purposes. This often involved flooding boards with irrelevant or disruptive posts, sparking chaos and irritation among the targeted communities.
The forum was eventually shut down due to the increasing amount of disruptive behavior and the inability to moderate the content effectively. However, LUEshi left a lasting legacy on the internet and is remembered as a unique and somewhat eccentric part of internet lore from that era.

me: And how about the GameFAQs character contests?
ChatGPT:
The GameFAQs character contests were annual popularity contests held on the GameFAQs website. These contests aimed to determine the most popular video game character among the GameFAQs user community.
The most famous and enduring of these contests was the "Character Battle" or "Character Battle Contest" (often abbreviated as C.B.C.). It started in 2002 and became an annual event, typically taking place during the summer months.
During the contest, GameFAQs users could vote for their favorite video game characters in head-to-head matchups. The matchups were organized in a bracket format, similar to a tournament. Each round, users would vote for their preferred character, and the character with the most votes would advance to the next round.
The contests generated a lot of excitement and discussion among the GameFAQs community. Users campaigned for their favorite characters, often creating dedicated threads and posting persuasive arguments to rally support. The contests became known for unexpected upsets, intense rivalries, and passionate debates.
Some of the most iconic characters in video game history, such as Mario, Link, and Cloud, have participated in these contests, along with characters from more niche or lesser-known games. The contests provided a platform for fans to express their enthusiasm for their beloved characters and sparked spirited conversations about the merits of different video game franchises.
It's worth noting that while the GameFAQs character contests were a significant part of internet gaming culture for many years, their popularity has waned in recent times. The contests no longer take place regularly, but they remain a nostalgic memory for those who participated in and followed them.

me: Do you know which character won the first contest?
ChatGPT:

Yes, the first GameFAQs Character Battle Contest, also known as C.B.C. 2002, was won by the character Link from The Legend of Zelda series. Link emerged as the victor after a series of head-to-head matchups against other popular video game characters. The contest featured a bracket format, and Link secured the most votes throughout the competition, ultimately claiming the title of the most popular video game character according to the GameFAQs community in 2002.

I'm intrigued to listen to this album as my dealings with Sabaton involve me and my friends asking 'who are all these people who love sabaton?!' any time we go to mainland europe and find them headlining festivals - for whatever reason they're pretty low profile in the UK but when I went to France or Germany these were enormous. I see that in the time since I fell off power metal, Sabaton became the stalwarts, and are respected for the depths of historical knowledge they bring to their lyrics
