Topic | Question on banking |
Steffenfield 11/10/23 11:57:49 PM #55 | Well that was a mistake. The ATM out on the highway was inside a building that closes at 9pm. Meaning I can't double dip there.... Withdraw just before midnight and then again just slightly after. I would need to make the trek every night. Also, the ATM daily increase I requested was only temp and for a modest $250. Took me three attempts and more than an hour on the phone for that silly amount. I'm not doing it again since that wasn't worth my time. The machine I mentioned was also capped at $300 as well. I remember a story, way back, of someone rushing thru town, hitting every ATM possible, before the banking system was able to update. I might try this and see if it's possible. Right now, I would welcome a stern scolding email or phone call from my bank not to ever do that again. *lol* I just want cash money and I feel so poor at the moment. :/ |

Steffenfield 11/10/23 11:49:46 AM #73 | Is there any extension, setting, proxy or browser that can nuke those CNN video ads on mobile? 30 seconds each and every time just to view a one minute clip is obnoxious. |
Topic | Question on banking |
Steffenfield 11/09/23 2:46:20 PM #53 | He's not my grandfather. Someone asked how old the person was, and I stated he was grandpa old, that's all. It's for a Facebook Marketplace purchase. He has a car listing for sale that is garage stored and never seen snow or has been in the rain. It's super cherry. Probably could easily be sold for three times the amount requested. There's no taxi, Uber, Lyft, Door dash, Grub Hub, or busses in my area. I think I was able to increase my daily ATM limit yesterday. I'll find out later tonight. There's a PNC friendly ATM out on the highway I never knew about. A bit of a hike but might be worth it. And yes, I have no idea how banking works. |
Topic | Question on banking |
Steffenfield 11/09/23 3:29:12 AM #39 | NoMeLx22x posted... Banks don't typically have 10k lying around for any random customer to withdraw on a moments notice. It isn't like the movies. You're better off calling the bank you wanna withdraw it from and ask if they're able to.I've called my bank twice on this already. Both times were with foreign speaking agents that were stupid goobers and didn't help at all. :/ I just would like to turn what I have digitally and be able to somehow hold that in my hand. That online credit union application requires a time stamped selfie, drivers license, scanning their QR code, an agreement for a complete credit history report review, and something something about FBI and a terrorist watch list warning. Times sure have changed since I last remembered. Still think I'll do that though and wire money to the newly created account so I can double dip at the ATMs each day. I've looked online and it seems like there's also a Coinhub and LibertyX Bitcoin ATM tellers in town. Maybe that's a thing I could try. I really have no idea what I'm doing though. I went to public schooling. *lol* |

Steffenfield 11/08/23 7:05:54 PM #35 | archizzy posted... You are reading this wrong. Hes saying them as in the Credit Union where he would be opening his own new account.Yeah, that's what I meant. Sorry for phrasing it weird. archizzy posted... Personally it sounds like you are going through too much trouble opening a 2nd account at a different location when you could simply order checks from your current bank.Checks are not cash. The gentleman won't accept money orders so I'm not even going to bother asking if a check would be okay. I'm surprised some people still live in the dark ages like this guy. *lol* I'm wondering if I could purchase 10 money orders at the post office and make them out to myself then cash them all at the credit union. Would this work at all? My last wire transfer charged me a $225 service fee, so doing that would be far less expensive. |

Steffenfield 11/08/23 6:01:27 PM #23 | Punished_Blinx posted... Do you have a bank you can travel to that has an account that doesn't have fees for what you want to do? If so open an account there, transfer the money from your account to it and then go to the bank and withdraw. I think that would still be the easiest way.Think I'll try this tomorrow. There's a Credit Union about a mile down the street from me. From their website, it looks like I can apply to become a member online. If it all goes well, I'll transfer the amount from my checking account to them and then withdraw it. Hopefully that will work. :) |

Topic | Question on banking |
Steffenfield 11/08/23 4:42:39 PM #5 | I need $10k. ATM daily withdraw limit is just $400 nearby and it costs $5.50 every time I even look at that stupid machine. It would take three weeks on this. Perhaps I can do a money order using my bank card somewhere? Maybe at a gas station? I live in a very remote area so my options aren't looking all that great. |

Steffenfield 11/08/23 4:33:37 PM #1 | Can I go to someone's bank and deposit money into their account using a Visa debit card? I need cash but I've only used cards for the past decade or more. I have PayPal, Chase, Discover, Mastercard, Google Pay, and a PNC bank card. I don't have a checkbook despite my entire life savings is in a checking account. I'm somewhat stupid. *lol* The nearest bank of mine is too far away for travel. Just looking for a way to give someone money who is old school in their ways. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. :) |
