I think "fuck that game" is a pretty good attitude to take when a game is released in a poor-quality state. This is a generation where gamers are expected to pay $60 for a single game. These companies are taking your money before the product is done, selling you an unfinished product. It SHOULD be an outrage. And gamers should speak with their wallets and let the companies who are doing this learn a lesson from it. A damaging, expensive lesson that will also speak to other developers and let them know that we, as a market, do not accept half-baked goods and low quality goods. We, as a community, should demand a high-quality, finished product for our dollar.

In terms of legitimately starting off in Kanto, Bulbasaur is the actual best starter while Charmander is the literal worst.

It's just that catching other Pokmon offset that, as well as moveset tweaks that help the little dude.

Not entirely, but he's not entirely correct. Looking on Bulbapedia, (depending on if you count the '3rd' version of a game as a remake or not due to how they're slightly improved) they seemingly remake their games every other year or so.

Oh yeah, Naughty Dog is incredibly guilty on this, don't get me wrong. (But now rereading his post it's clear he didn't deny that Nintendo does it as well)
