It doesn't help that there are serious allegations being made against them in this context either:
https://www.bmj.com/content/375/bmj.n2635

Sure, if the data was dependent on that one site, or the three sites that was under Ventavia, you might have something here, but it's not, and you can point to real world data-Billions of vaccines administrated-no side effects. I took Pfizer, I'm still kicking(Note: Not relevant).

My take away from that article is that the FDA seems to be understaffed, and if true, should not be cutting corners like this. Nothing about the potential dangers of the vaccine.

theawesomestevr posted...
It's not as though there's a robust reporting system in place for adverse effects. I'd be interested to know how the CDC's process for handling reports works, but what's being reported here are only the 28 cases the CDC could confirm. That doesn't speak to how many more have been reported but were inconclusive or uninvestigated, nor does it have any way of estimating the number of unreported cases out there.

I'm certainly not suggesting it's some high number, but when we're talking about calculating which of two very low chances is more significant, it helps to not have to extrapolate it from incomplete information, and furthermore Rodgers is concerned about the potential for long term effects. and in particular, he specified how the vaccines may affect fertility. There's a lot of data that we just won't have access to until it's been collected over the course of years.

I'm not saying the calculation he's made here is right, but it's not some clear cut case that he's so totally wrong either.

This is a none point. There are likely non-reported Covid cases and deaths out there too, and the long-term effects of COVID are coming out everyday, while still nothing about vaccines.

The fertility thing has no evidence and is often spouted in anti-vaccination rhetoric.

This is brash of me, but If the whole plan is to "Wait for more data on the vaccine" they are going to be waiting until the die, because they data they are looking for is to vindicate their decision. Rodgers doesn't plan to get vaccinated, he never did. No amount of data is likely to change for people in this mind set.

They also restructured his contract. The way I understand it is that it's heavily incentive based. So more wins equals more money type of thing. So if he keeps losing next year they don't have to do a massive payout, and can fire him.

I jokingly told my family is they are hanging on to him for one more year because no one wants to come to Nebraska any more because the program is a joke, so they don't have any replacements in mind.

For what's worth. The Pokemon official YouTube channel ran a poll of the three original starts last week: "As we near the end of Kanto month, we need to ask the ultimate questionBulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle?"

262k votals. Bulbasaur 31% Charmander 46% Squirtle 24%

Obviously you can't infer too much, but Bulbasaur landing in he middle helps with this projected idea of the very least an attitude of indifference, rather than straight anti-votes.

If you're anything like me, you definitely have not done as much research as Aaron Rodgers on the subject, and even if he was lying about the research he did (which I highly doubt), neither of us have access to the resources and medical professionals he does and has consulted, so it's unclear to me why anyone can be so certain that they're both more and better informed than he is without having at a bare minimum done extensive research.

Because we don't need to. How do you think the vaccine(s) were created? The research has been done by multiple facilities, faculties and medical experts.

As of this article: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/12/health/vaccine-bloodclots-johnson-johnson.html

J&J had a reported whopping 28 cases regarding bloodcots. 22 from woman, and over 9 million doses administrated. He supposedly isn't allergic to this one. While true we do not know what his research entails, we don't need to. That is an insanely low percentage of getting a reaction from it, and like you said he is a 37 year old athlete, he is already doing better than the 12 people who developed the disorder had obesity, 7 had high blood pressure, 3 had diabetes, and 3 were taking estrogen(Granted it says there may not be a definitive link between the two). His risk is even lower.

At the end of the day, it is his personal choice, and I agree. At this point we are almost 2 years in, if you don't want to get don't get it, but his reasoning doesn't add up, and it's based off of fear or ignorance, or both.

He should have just been honest in August, especially if he had an allergy. Idk what convinced him it would be better to try and cover it up

This is what bugs me. Why go the immunization route. If he straight up said he was allergic and was viewing his options at that point it ends the story.

Instead he shifts the blame to woke mob mentality, which also doesnt make sense.

You arent going to be villianized for being allergic to it. Well you could be, by assholes, but he probably deals with assholes all the time anyway, its social media.

Rodgers most likely violated protocol with his Halloween party. There were reportedly more than 4 Packers players there.

The whole story will come out, but the Packers and the NFL absolutely knew his vaccination status. Halloween party was completely reckless on his part. Fines will be sent out, Packers probably loose a draftpick, I don't think Rodgers is getting suspended though.

The fact that you're incapable of making sense and have immediately resorted to feigning moral superiority is disgusting. I mean, I'm not really disgusted by it since this a video game message board and neither of us really know each other, but it's certainly not something someone of high moral character would do.

theawesomestevr posted...
Otherwise, I don't think Rodgers is the moron here.

Is this your thing? Making snide comments?

Vaccine protects lives. This is fact.

If you take issue with my original statement because I'm calling him a moron, fine. I made two blanket statements that don't necessarily hold the same value in contrast to each other. One protects from a disease, the other actively increases your chance at one. Which is the only point I was making.

He already got one disease, time will tell if he goes 2/2.

theawesomestevr posted...
Just finished listening to his interview, and I'm guessing you didn't listen to any of it. This was addressed. As for the Demovsky post, Rodgers again goes into detail in the interview. Maybe Rodgers is outright lying, but an anonymous source giving selective vague details doesn't really directly contradict what Aaron said. I'm sure if the media makes a big deal of this he'll be addressing it in the future.

Sure, at this point it is he said she said. Not saying you can't trust the NFL's word either because it is the NFL, but the fact he was caught this way, and calls the protocols draconian along with a bunch of other popular anti-vax comments/beliefs is iffy. The fact he had a prepared statement if someone questioned his 'immunization' answer is also just bizarre in context because we don't know if this is true or is just mentioning it now because this is how it was found it.

It comes off as deceitful. He made a lot of dumb comments in the interview. If he kept it as "It's just a personal matter" then fine, leave it be.

If the whole story is that he went through unvaccinated protocol, as he should have been, and he just tested positive. Once again, fine. I'm wrong, he did what he had to do and caught the disease anyway.

If I have this straight, he gets paid tens of millions of dollars with the lowest risk of concussions of any position on the field outside of kickers, punters, and probably long snappers, but he hasn't taken a vaccine that has zero possibility of paying him anything... and you think he ought to value these things with equal concern (which doesn't even get into his reason for not taking it that seems perfectly legitimate as far as I can see)?

He should value the one that can save his life, and others around him.

The fact you are putting monetary value on someone else's health, safety and potential life is disgusting.
