A retired Detroit fire lieutenant who shot at a Black teen after he stopped at his Rochester Hills home to ask for directions reportedly has his sentence reduced and will be eligible for parole in May.

Jeffrey Zeigler, 56, was resentenced last week to 30 months to 10 years in prison, Fox 2 reports, after the Michigan Court of Appeals determined the now-retired judge who first handled his case exceeded sentencing guidelines without proper explanation. Zeigler was previously not due for release until October 2022 at the earliest, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections website.

Oakland County jurors convicted Zeigler of assault with intent to do great bodily harm for shooting at Brennan Walker, then 14, in 2018 after he knocked on his door to ask for directions to Rochester High School. Home surveillance footage showed Zeigler fire at Walker from his porch with a shotgun as the teen ran away.

Zeigler, who had a previous misdemeanor conviction involving a firearm, said he thought Walker was an intruder. He also refered to him as "colored" when recounting the incident to police, a detective testified.

Walker's mother blasted the lighter punishment in an interview with Fox 2:
"What concerns me the most is the message that was sent a white judge gave a former white firefighter six months for possibly murdering a Black boy on camera and lying about it," said Lisa Wright. "I know hes going to get out in May. I dont think theyre going to listen to my cries. I dont think theyre going to listen to the mental anguish Ive been through."

The new sentence is from Judge Jeffery Matis.

Sakurai never got a chance to make one, since he's worked on Smash for like 10 years straight after Uprising completed development.

He also said there wouldn't be a sequel until 2037, so there's that as well.

If you're going to regret it either way, I'd suggest you go.

It'll open an old wound that will eventually heal, but if you don't go, it'll open a wound that probably won't heal.

The Pokemon Stadium games would be great, but I feel they would also be pointless unless they allowed you to link up with the 3DS VC releases of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 games (and that would honestly make me go download them). ...And I doubt Nintendo would go through the trouble.

Its just gonna be a small handful of specific games instead of the entire library so its basically not even worth discussing

It's not like the N64 had a vast library anyway. It was mainly just Nintendo and Rare titles.

Right? The Gamecube one was a goldmind of funny and quality lines, but now Nintendo wants to make their characters as bland as possible.

Yeah, and another issue I have is the unification of the Mario art style. Back in the 2000's, we had Mario games with a myriad of different promotional art styles; between the main series, Mario & Luigi, Paper Mario, the Super Mario Strikers series, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, they were allowed to give Mario a different flavor.

Now, everything Mario has the same bland 3D artstyle, with the exception of Paper Mario (which is its own issue).

It's not like Nintendo has been strangers to violent exclusives.

See: Bayonetta 2, Eternal Darkness, Devil's Third (even if that last one was garbage). And of course, the No More Heroes games (NMH2 is still Nintendo-exclusive).

I'm not denying that it is. But a 50% boost in both defensive stats is still more lucrative, even if you have to sacrifice the item slot for it (and of course, there's stuff like Knock Off).

Not only does it look stupid compared to the more sleek Rhydon (and I'm not trying to be a Genwunner), but it only gains 10 base stat points in all of its stats except Speed (which gets nothing), and Rhydon's Attack and Defense stats are already pretty damn good as is.

They probably thought that Solid Rock would make up for it, but Solid Rock only reduces damage from Super-effective attacks, and by 25%. Meanwhile, thanks to Rhyperior existing, Rhydon can use Eviolite, which is a full-on 50% defense boost across the board. Rhyperior existing literally makes Rhydon a better Pokemon.
