All of the stage themes went together, and because the Past themes were hardcoded into the game itself, they were left alone while all the other tracks were changes, which must have been jarring for kids when the Past themes sounded nothing like the rest of the music on their respective stages.

There's no reason for the old one to stick around anymore, as it'd just confuse potential buyers. Plus, if you always have the old version and need to redownload it for some reason, you still can.

Seems like just about all of them--or at least the major ones--are pretty scummy now. In older Dragon Ball media, such as in DBZ filler and in GT, the two of them got along rather well, and teamed up at least twice to accomplish some goal.
