I always had a soft spot for Slender. I think it's genius in its simplicity.

It was super original at the time too, especially as the mainstream horror game franchises were all switching to straight-up action at the same time. For many years it was scarce to get AAA survival horror experiences so indie games like Amnesia and Slender really helped carry the horror torch.

I would personally say either Amnesia or Five Nights at Freddy's are the most influential horror games of the past decade but yeah Slender's definitely up there too. I just think about how now there's so many short horror games like it in the indie space through itch.io / Steam, these short visceral experiences built around atmosphere and jumps - efficient and to the point, no excess. I understand their criticisms but as digestible, in 'n' out horror experiences - they're usually well done from my point of view.

I'll gladly join the minority (so far). Such a tense little horror-survival episode. Love the black-and-white, it adds such a creepy layer to the whole affair. Hard to look at those robot dogs irl the same way now too.

In addition there's at least two movies announced! They are really going all in with the Silent Hill brand.

I have zero excitement for this beyond Bawkbasoup hopefully streaming it (don't see why he wouldn't unless it's not allowed or something)

Nothing about this screams "Silent Hill" to me. It looks like some generic Dark Pictures Anthology-level trash. Beyond that, it's still terribly confusing how they're going to be handling choices and how that changes things going forward. I think I would've just preferred if they put effort into a straight-up animated series or something. Very unappealing to me.

It showed up at TGS a couple weeks ago, and they just showed the same trailer again with no update or new info at all.

Nice little dark-as-hell thriller though not really much going on beyond just seeing how depraved Mia can get as the episode goes on.
