generally you use the drippings from a roast pan to make the gravy. not sure how you'd do it when using a crock pot...

Yeah, no roast pan here, sadly. Just curious if I can use the juices from a crock pot. There is usually a LOT of them.

id make a roux with butter and flour, let it cook and brown until it smells nutty, add the meat liquids and more water if needed, season and spice if needed, meat stock if it isnt flavorful enough from the meat liquid. Then add some cream in the end maybe.

Cooking a roast with some chopped potatoes in a crock pot for about 8 to 10 hours. Generally just add black pepper, salt, garlic powder to the meat, sear until brown, lay on a bed of potatoes, add some water, and cook. I figure I can siphon some of the water into a pan and try to make some gravy but I'm not sure how. Any tips?

Very rarely, too much of a hassle for me. If I really want ketchup, I just put it inside the bun. Most of the time whatever sauce the burger has is good enough.

I eat my burgers plain, sometimes with cheese. Never was a fan of tomatoes and lettuce on a burger. If anything, I'll throw fries or bacon on it.

DarkChozoGhost posted...
In BBQ sometimes, if it's served on the side.

Some advice. Instead of putting ketchup in those little cups, grab a drink lid with a napkin under it and put ketchup in that. It gives you much more dipping space, and room for more ketchup if you need it. I use it for fries.

Holy shit, that's an awesome idea. I'll remember this. Thanks!

I remember I ALWAYS hated hot ketchup. I'm not sure why, but I never liked it. I used to just slather ketchup on my burger and eat it quick when I was younger, because at least then the ketchup wouldn't be hot as hell.

Then one day I forgot to ketchup my burger, but I was too lazy to get up. So I decided to just dip my entire burger in ketchup. And holy shit, it was the best thing ever. Ketchup stays a good temperature, you can pick just how much ketchup you want on that bite...it's awesome.

But I still feel weird. Especially when I try dipping it in those small ass little containers they give at Carl's Jr or somewhere for the ketchup. Those are the worst. I can never fit it in there unless I take a bite first.

I also do the same with hot dogs and...just about everything I eat with ketchup lol.

So, do you dip your burger in ketchup or other condiments?

Do you call it a she or will you call it a toaster?

I bring this up because of the whole Fl4k thing in Borderlands 3 with the moderators modding and hiding posts because users refer to Fl4k as a 'he'. The writer decided the fictional AI/robot character is non-binary so now it's apparently bigoted.

So, if a new toaster was made, and the creator asked for it to be called a she, would you adhere to the creator's whims for their state of the art talking toaster?

no it's not, some girls prefer guys who are pretty or feminine

play to your strengths, take the compliment and don't want to be something you're not, especially if what you have is appealing to other ppl

Maybe so. But if someone doesn't like being called something feminine, should you really call them something feminine, even if it makes them uncomfortable? Like calling a guy who's already insecure about his masculinity girly or something? Some people don't like that sorta stuff. Just take it into account before you say something otherwise it might come off as an insult. Try calling a girl handsome and tell me how they react.

that's their own fault and their own insecurities for feeling insulted

look at guys who are in boybands or even korean pop stars. they're called pretty boys and look effeminiate yet they have millions of fans and they're still attractive to women. just a different kind of attraction, e.g. compared to a bodybuilder

Nothing wrong with it, but you're telling a dude it's fine to be called pretty when he obviously thinks it's whack. Meaning...doesn't like it.

Yeah, but I'd rather not really be called pretty myself. It's like if I met you and said you looked adequate or feminine. No one wants to be considered adequate. Granted there are a lot of doctors that should lose their jobs for malpractice, that doesn't mean that all 500 deaths were due to idiot doctor's misdiagnosing, or just deciding to do unnecessary surgeries.

Influenza is a virus and we have very little control over who it is going to effect annually, I would expect someone with a basic understanding of biology to come to terms with this.

Suicide is influenced by our society and things we can work on, I will give him that.

Car ACCIDENTS, this is the same as medical errors.

Then 40 via homicides to handguns, so he's bringing up that we're torn up about shootings again? Or, is he trying to point out that shootings go on all the time and to get with the times and get used to it?

I feel like Neil came up with this to impress a bunch of dumb relatives when he was visiting his brother Mike Tyson and just decided to post it on the internet to see who else would like it. It's not nearly as insightful or mind blowing as it appears at first.

Honestly? I never liked Tyson. So when he started saying this, I disliked it asap.

Be nice to everyone. Stop alienating others based on what your friends think. It is possible to be nice to everyone in a way that doesn't make you a target. When the day comes, you will be spared.

That is a very ignorant view.

I think of myself as a generally nice person but if someone is bringing a gun to a mall, they aren't gonna care if I'm a good person, I don't think.

OK, then be a ****ing little ***** and be scared to death of the world we live in because you'll never have the balls to get outside of your head. Also, what are you doing at the mall? The employees that work at the malls barely ever even go there.

The mall near me is pretty awesome. Well, it's less a mall and more a shopping center. I call it a mall though, the way it's built reminds me of one. Has an awesome theater, Dave and Busters, rainforest cafe(I was surprised they even existed anymore, I ate at one the first time I finished a chapter book lol), it's great.

Honestly, any crowded area could be a target. People who go on mass shootings, from what I've seen, either pick somewhere that sends a message or somewhere that will be crowded.

I'm nor scared to death of the world. I still function normally, like anyone, but bad thoughts creep into my head and I may get over cautious.

No need to be so angry, friend. You can calm down. We're all fine here. :)

Also you can remove censoring off curse words in your settings menu. So you can curse all you want without worrying about censors. You can do it anyway, but it'll block it for anyone with the censor system on.

This is mostly just for me venting, I guess? I have no interest in politics, I know voting is pretty much meaningless, so I'm not looking to even debate that sorta stuff.

I just got a fear of it. It's a scary thought. And I don't know what I do or what TO do. I'm legitimately scared of the idea of it alone. Or losing someone to it. And I can't exactly hermit myself or anything, I'm not that financially capable for that at this moment in time lol. I hate having to even think this way, and I know there's probably a million things to be more concerned about, but the thought passes in my mind and it just elicits fear. I'm probably stupid enough to try and charge them or something, or maybe I'd cower in fear and hide...I don't know. Idk what to think, or if I should even be considering this sorta stuff.

I loved living in America, honestly, I live in SoCal and my god are the beaches beautiful. Hold so many good memories for me in California. But for the first time in years I wanna move. Maybe to Canada or something, idk. But that wouldn't be years down the line and I don't like maple syrup(jokes hur hur), Idk what Canada is like. What I should be worried about...

Idk. I'm just scared, not enough to disable me from doing activities or going out but enough that I'm up at 3AM thinking about it lol.

Thanks for listening, if you did. Or the memes. Idk lol. Hope whoever reads this has a good day.
