Started playing the first Mother, don't know that I'm feeling it though. I wandered around a bunch and got to Magicant but it doesn't seem like I can do much there until the end of the game. Not sure where else I should be going, most of the overworld looks the same.

Animal Crossing is a big one. It barely does anything to set itself apart from the rest, so if you've played any of those then you've pretty much already played New Horizons. I know that's been a complaint with the series for a while but this being a big new console release, and the first game in eight years, really hammered it in. The big price tag didn't help, either.

Yoshi's Crafted World was okay, better than some of the other games in the series for sure. It was just really short for a 'big' game and relied on a lot of repetition to hide that. The Switch has a fair number of games that are way shorter than they should be, Kirby Star Allies is another one. If you can go back a few generations and get more of an experience for less then there's a problem somewhere.

I think it's fair for people to be a bit skeptical of this given what Nintendo's been putting out recently, and I'm not just taking about Pokemon here. They don't really deserve the same blind faith in their games that they used to earn.

That said this does look great, and it's nice to see this series coming back. But I'm not willing to drop full price for it on day one.

Also Meganium's the best and I'll fight you on this

39. Finish a game that took you at least twenty-five hours to beat

Dark Souls

Don't know when I'll feel up to playing this again but I don't regret going back for a second playthrough. I missed a ton of stuff the first time around, some entire areas even. I got to finish the Artorias DLC and beat Gwyn without just parry spamming him too, so that was nice.

Aria's Story

Indie horror game focused on solving puzzles. Could've used more polish but it wasn't bad.

Dark Souls is going alright. Got past Ornstein and Smough yesterday. I couldn't find a good weapon for them on my first playthrough but all I needed was a regular longsword, apparently.
