I worked towards a programming degree in college, but eventually decided to switch over to creative writing. I probably can't program much right off the top of my head, however, I took enough classes that I'm fairly certain a quick crash course could bring me back up to where I was before I switched degrees.

Yeah, but they are mostly just a series of dialogue boxes. TC probably just likes books more than movies.

  • World of Final Fantasy over recent mainline FFs.
  • Warriors spinoffs like Dynasty Warriors Gundam over mainline Dynasty Warriors.
  • Saints Row over GTA.

Most likely several others.

Ice is a mineral. It is a naturally occurring, inorganic substance with a consistent chemical composition and solid, crystalline structure. However, this only applies to ice created naturally like in a snow drift and doesn't apply to ice found in a freezer.

those plus Dusk Hotel are the basically only interaction one could have hoped to have had with visual novels in the DS era. all are great, just us vn fans kinda hope others would branch out beyond that, u know

Any text heavy game is a task for me to get through to say the least. I wouldn't mind playing more of them but they would either need to be on console or have really good font size on PC, as well as, be interesting enough for me to put the effort into getting through.

if there were enough adventurers out there killing end game mobs to cause an economic collapse, that would raise even more questions. why were lesser bosses/midbosses along the way so scary and dangerous, when there's so many people out there that can kill them? why aren't *those* people in my party? where were all those people when *my* village was attacked? you get the idea.

Who said anything about endgame mobs? I just have all my party members equipped with accessories that increase the amount of money dropped and kill the enmies with a skill that increases it even further.

Sahuagin posted...
my idea for this is that there should be companies or factions that are interested in securing land or reducing threat levels of certain areas. these factions offer the player contracts for killing certain enemies. then when you go out and fight monsters, you get paid based on all of the active contracts you have.

I guess that could work, but there are some games that have an actual contract/bounty system where you collect quests to kill mobs for rewards yet you can still get money off of enemies without any active quests.

How is it that the last merchant before the point of no return when everyone in the world knows who the hero is, and that he's the chosen one still charge ludicrous prices for the items and gear when the obvious thing to do is give him or her what ever they need to beat the big baddie?

To be fair, you're usually carrying around hundreds of thousands of whatever currency the game world uses. Most of which you got from the "dangerous" monsters. I'm sure those infinitely respawning black wolves that give 22k a kill didn't lead to an economic collapse or anything either...

There was a Youtuber I used to watch that had a pretty great reaction in a Let's Play video of a game called Schoolgirl Zombie Hunter. Unfortunately she deleted all of her videos and left Youtube so I can't link it, but the basic situation was this:

Your friend wants help finding her Kendo stick to fend off the zombies. The second the mission starts your friend opens fire on a horde of zombies with an infinite ammo assault rifle.
Edit: Also, not really related but I do want to mention this part of the video as well. The friend was such an amazing AI partner that the person playing just let her do all the work. It turned into a reverse-escort mission, lol.

Never played gen 4 but if SwSh is anything to go by, i would actually expect that you could steamroll story mode with any old Pokemon? Or was SwSh just ridiculously easy?

While the games have been easier since Gen 6 Pokemon has always been piss easy when it comes to the main titles at least. Soloing the games, especially with starters which are usually semi-decent at worst, isn't difficult unless you go for one of the really bad Pokemon or add other restrictions. The problem I had was that the trainers/leader in Snowpoint kept spamming an ice-type "always goes first" attack. I had zero difficulty with every other part of Gen 4, and if it weren't for that specific move Snowpoint would just be another forgotten town name in the long list of cities with gyms I've beaten.

Also, I soloed both Diamond and Platinum with Torterra and this problem only ocurred in Platinum.

I used to be one of those people who only used their starter to basically solo the whole game up until Platinum. My favorite starter in Gen 4 was turtwig. And then came Snowpoint...there's a reason I remember that town's name and almost none of the others.

Still love you Torterra, but holy shit no ice cream for you. I promise it's for your own good.

I voted Ys earlier just in case your friend doesn't accept neither for an answer. Have't played any Ys game, however, I have played Cold Steel 1 and 2 from the Trails series and wasn't impressed. Although, it seems there's a fairly general consensus that the Cold Steel arc of the series is the weakest part.

Tropical and Wildberry. Found a large bag once that had both of these which was the best thing ever.

On a semi-related note, I tried the Smoothie variant once and only once. They had a bright pink one in the bag, and I just happened across Kill Bill while eating them and channel surfing. Specifically, the part where we get a nice close-up of someone's eye being squished into a somewhat flat, bright pink circular shape. Couldn't finish the rest of the bag after that...
