I upgrade system is overly convoluted and confusing, I hate the weird crystal lizard rules.

World tendency is a mess. And since I don't play online and dabble with invasions I completely fucked over my world by dying too many times as a human. Trashy, half baked mechanic.

Don't like the bosses here. They're all piss easy but you usually always die at least a few times because they all have some gimmicky mechanic and it takes a few tries to figure out the solution. And the runbacks are abysmal here. 5-1, 2-2 and 1-4 are really bad offenders. I only really liked Old King Allant, Penetrator and the Old Monk here.

Also is the soundtrack here is pretty lame. I played the remake so maybe that has something to do with it.

Also don't like that the world isn't all connected and it's all linear levels.

I get it's unfair to criticise it since it's the first of its time but still thought I'd shout my opinion.

I really like Hallowen Ends. It's a flawed film and you do have to take it out it's context (ignore that it's the final movie of a trilogy and view it as its own thing) but it gets waaay too much hate. It does too many things right and interesting for it to be a steaming trash pile like the majority of horror fans want you to think it is.

I think the ending is what brings it down alot. The last 10 minutes (which is what most people praise in this movie) is some of the most cliche and predictable scenes. It just throws out all of the interesting and cool shit the movie was building up to.

Pizza. Cheap and there's usually leftovers.

On the bright side, if you watch it as an adult, it's kinda funny. I rewatched it like a month ago and thought it was silly. Had some good bits but it has that early 2000's horror movie cheese that makes it goofy.

It's definitely more goofy as an adult..
But I don't know. I watch it last night for the first time in over a decade and afterwards it still made me uneasy walking around my house in the dark.

This movies certainly deserves a second chance. It needs a prequel. To further flesh out Mary Shaw. Preferably sooner than later because Judith Roberts is an old girl and pushing 90.
Her presence stole every scene she was in.

I watched it back in the day as a kid and to this day I still have nightmares about Mary Shaw.

About beating a boss on the first try.

Beating a boss on your first try means fucking nothing. You probably got lucky or you had 50 points in health and tanked everything.

Like Amygdala. I basically deleted it on my first playthrough but everything other subsequent playthrough it kicks my shit in.

So far im learning that all the boss runbacks are absolute bullshit.
It's not that the boss fights are even that hard. It's that you spend 20 minutes getting back to the boss so you're nervous and then you panic and inevitably get one shot and it's the dreaded run back again.

Played through the prison of hope in the Tower of Latria and I guessed right. Rescued Sage Freke, defeated Fools Idol and got a sweet as Soul Ray or whatever it's called.
I missed the saving Rydell. Explored everywhere and I couldn't find a key to his cell. Hopefully it's in the next Latria area.

Decided to tackle Depaved Chasm and I fucking hate this area. My problem with games looking this good is there seem to be a lack of visual clarity. I'm constantly getting confused and falling off the level into my death. And don't get me started about that absolute bullshit 5 hit kombo the enemies here can do.
I got to Leechmonger which doesn't seem like a hard boss but the leechballs basically 2 shot me and dying means I have to run back through what I would arguably call the worst runback in a base souls game.
I really hope Im missing something and the runback isn't this obnoxious.

Best part of the game for me. I wish the Beneviento house and Reservoir were more fleshed out. They just feel like linear set pieces with a few puzzles thrown in.

I would've preferred if the entire game was just playing as Abby and her crew and Joel/Ellie was left out. Then tLoU3 could be another group of characters.

The journey of Joel and Ellie in the first game ended so bitter-sweet and perfect. And it feels as if the sequel just shits all over that

Just beat Phalanx.

This (and Elden Ring) are the two souls games I haven't yet played. I love going back to these primitively designed areas. Boletaria Palace is tightly designed and essential for a newcomer. It's clear how much of a spiritual successor Dark Souls is.

Phalanx went down without much hassle but I can understand how newer players would get absolutely slotted.
But it's necessary because the fight teaches you spacing, precision, timing and using the environment to your advantage. The fact that the game drops shit loads of firebombs and pine resins is a clear clue to be using fire against them.

I'm playing a Mage/melee character so I'm going to hopefully meet a Sorcery teacher soon.
I'm assuming those 3 people that show up in the nexus sell you miracles. My faith is 6 so I take it they won't sell me shit.

My issue with Souls games is you go through the hell to explore some pit of shit only to be rewarded with something you can't even use for your build. So I'm attempted to rectify this by being able to experiment and play with everything.
