It doesn't really matter what you call it but it's funny to me that ice dancing is an Olympic sport. Why don't they have regular dancing too? Do they have like ballroom dancing in the summer games? There's no way of knowing.

The last book I read was a Japanese crime novel called "Six Four" by Hideo Yokoyama. It was good.

I think baseball might not be the worst option for just scoring a single run. We'd get absolutely annihilated by their offense but we could luckily get one run in 9 innings. I'd take those odds over getting buckets.

It would be sweet to see Shaun White go out and get like a 99 on his last run. But him getting beat by like a 19 year old is also cool in its own way.

Also here is my defense of FF12. The gameplay isn't about the moment to moment action, it's about the satisfaction of maximizing your team's effectiveness and then managing problems as they come up. It's like a strategy game on a micro level. And having to press X through that game would have been a nightmare. I also really like the story in it and about half of the characters. Vaan is probably the worst character in the history of time but Basch, Balthier and Ashe are pretty cool. Tidus would be a contender for worst ever if the whole game was just the first half but he becomes tolerable by the end in a way Vaan never does.

I started off ranking 2D and 3D separately but then I realized just ranking them normally separated them on its own. I'll always be something of an apologist for the DS games, but I'll also never play them or anything below them again, so I guess I can't offer much of a defense.

This was much harder for me than the FF ranking, and I'm much more likely to change this ranking in a future post than I was with FF. But here's how I feel as of this moment:

I haven't beaten 1, 3 or 13 but I played them enough to know how I feel about them. Both your rankings and your Yu Darvish theorizing are perfectly acceptable.

Those are dope paintings. I just wish the artist had actually beheaded white people rather than just depicting it but nobody's perfect.

People who don't watch a lot of sports are the kind of people who get really into the Olympics. It's also a weird source of patriotism for people who (rightfully) never care about that kind of stuff otherwise. It's like a spell is cast on the normies of the world for a few weeks every couple of years.

There's no doubt that the Olympics are a horrible thing thrust upon whatever city is foolish enough to fall for it. The IOC is so brazenly corrupt that it's a wonder they're still getting away with it. That's capitalism, baby!!!

They should definitely go away forever. But as long as they're here, summer is better.

I also think the summer Olympics are way way more watchable than winter. You can put it on and have a good chance of watching something at least decent.

Man the winter Olympics are so bad.

Look, they get a place to stay in the land of opportunity. The least they can do is till soil until they pass out every day.

Co-op sounds interesting but this game is so damn long I can't imagine playing it again. How is it even supposed work? Something asynchronous where you can sign on whenever would be cool (obviously they'd probably have to tweak the time mechanic), but if you can only do it playing at the same time that sounds like too much effort.

From what I've read I think one person is the "main" farmer and can play whenever they want, but you can have up to 3 farmhands living in cottages on your farm and they can join the game when the main person is playing. They say the farmhands can do almost everything a regular character can do including get married (also, somewhat bizarrely, you can marry a fellow player character) but the main guy decides when to end a day and some other stuff.

They prescribed me what is basically a big dose of Advil.

It wasn't kidney stones. They can't pinpoint anything as the cause. But the good news is they don't think it's serious so they sent me home and I was only there for 8 and a half hours.

Still waiting. Almost posted a selfie on Instagram but decided against it because I don't want to leave a footprint of this visit in case I can get a day off work for it that I find strictly need.

I'm still waiting to get looked at by a doctor. I felt like taking a poop but before I sat down I realized I probably don't want to sit down on a toilet here if I can avoid it. So now I have to poop. Will keep you posted.
