Imagine actually denigrating people who want to defend their property though. What kind of scumbag actually tells people to lie their and let people steal their stuff?

Murder was an exaggeration, of course, but it would be considered manslaughter where I live unless there's a direct threat to your life. You can scare them off, you can shoot to wound, but you cannot shoot to kill (though it's thankfully very hard to get your hands on guns here in any case).

Defending your property is not considered reason enough to apply deadly force, and that's how it should be in a civilized society.

Yeah, because it's a completely reasonable and proportionate response to murder someone who's stealing your stuff.
