Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Halo 2 (XBO)

I enjoyed it more than Combat Evolved, I think. I think I came into Combat Evolved with high expectations which it couldn't fulfill, and I started this one kind of dreading it because I feel like it's the least talked about Halo. I felt the switching between characters was neat (although the story did get convoluted at some point because of it) and I enjoyed that I was pushed to use a wider variety of weapons, rather than just keeping the same gun(s) like I did in CE. I've also mastered the "oh it's a vehicle/Flood level I guess I'll just skip through the entirety of it" trick, which is pretty necessary to have fun in those levels.

All in all, from the Halo I've played so far:

Reach > 2 > CE

Talos clearly indicated he fucked up. I'm pretty sure the other people either weren't aware of the swap and thus trusted Fury implicitly or were Skrull themselves with no real idea what to do.

But yes, it's something that bothered me a lot as well before the reveal.

It looks and sounds a lot like a Dragon Ball opening...Sanji Raid suit, Komurasaki,...so much stuff to hype for!

And yes, an insane amount of spoilers. I feel like generally spoilers in OP openings have been contained to one (big one), like Robin in Hikari E, Luffy vs Usopp in Kokoro no Chizu, Impel Down and Ace in Share the World,... this is just massive spoilers all the way.

I'm not sure if I like it though, I feel like the pacing of the song+animation feels kinda off, especially the end felt very unsynced at abrupt.

You dont seem to understand the issue. The problem is that some Pokmon just plain wont be available to use in Sword and Shield. Period. No until post game. No other caveats.

No, I get it, but again, is that really such a big deal? As far as I can see, it'll shake things up a bit, rather than seeing the same Pokemon for the umpteenth time.

I mean, I can understand this might get abused (can't wait for Pokemon lootboxes!), but as of right now, I don't really see the issue.

Good luck!

I'm currently playing through Halo 2 on the MCC (which I'm enjoying less than Reach but more than CE?). I think with CE I was probably too hyped about playing it, having heard what a good game it is, and I was left underwhelmed. I still enjoyed my time with it, but I definitely remember thinking "I don't get the hype."

I'm gonna get started on Star Wars: Battlefront II soon (the Xbox one, not modern) as well.

I'm also playing through Pokmon HeartGold as well, on my way to Ecruteak with a party of Quilava, Togetic, Poliwag, Aipom, and Sunkern. It's been a lot of fun to go back to playing Pokemon. It's odd but I just enjoy these games way more physically than when I'm using an emulator.

Finally, I'm hunting for achievements in Deus Ex: Human Revolution. On my last one, but it is the "Play through the game on the hardest difficulty" achievement...and I have to snag some DLC ones, including Factory Zero, so that'll probably be tough as well, but it's always nice to come back to this game.

Hey, that Iwobi goal was pretty...eh, yeah, I can't really pretend to have anything.

It is pretty gutting to look at Arsenal these days. Wenger had to leave, but I feel like too many people felt that changing the manager would put us back on top. There are too many average players or players who I feel don't really fit the style that Emery wants to go for. Doesn't help that Kroenke barely knows he has a football team in England either, but it's not like Arsenal has a reputation for spending (except when Laca and Auba were brought in in one season for 120m, lol).

Anyway, sorry to say, but I'm all for Liverpool winning the CL. Klopp deserves something for all he has brought to Liverpool.

I can totally see what they were going for, but it never really hit it for me. I think the tactical parts of the game were not really delved into enough, especially in-game. I guess I'm used to ingame tutorials now rather than going into the game (or the manual lol) to learn how to play the game. Planes were fun, but boats and especially subs were painful to control and aim with. The Sub on Patrol mission is one of the least amounts of fun I've had in a video game in a long time.

There are a bunch of dothraki shown milling about in KL when Jon goes to say goodbye so I guess at least some decided to remain. Since the Unsullied opted not to settle The Reach I suppose there's plenty of room for them.

I'm sure Bronn would happily give part of the Reach to the Dothraki.

Anyway, as a stand-alone episode, it was easily the best episode of the season for me. As a season finale, let alone a series finale though, it fell flat, ineffective, rushed, and easy. I was glad they went where I thought they would go and destroyed the Iron Throne. I don't understand however, why they then felt the need to still have one king for all Seven Kingdoms. Oh wait, Six, because the North doesn't give a fuck, even though they get a Stark king and all the other houses had to deal with all that shit as well yet happily kneel once more? (as a plot hole, I thought it was pretty funny how both Arryn and Royce got a vote, even though we all know they're just there to represent the Vale, meaning they get two votes).

I actually thought the episode was really good until Dany's death (which I didn't hate or anything), but every scene after that just felt so much like a bowtie ribbon around the plot. I genuinely want to hit the dude who wrote "A Song of Ice and Fire, y'know, book reference teeeheeee" as well.

Also every Arya scene post episode 3 was a tremendous waste of time and actually, considering how her story ends, her entire character "arc" might've been a waste of time. Her entire story leads to her killing the Night King. That's it.

I do wish there'd been a shot of Drogon and Dany's corpse near Asshai, but I guess nobody would've understood it anyway, although they could've had Sam finish his sentence and all the book readers could've gone "Oooooooh".

Spec Ops: The Line (PS3)

I can understand that people say the gameplay is nothing amazing, but considering how long it has been since I've played a (cover-based) third-person shooter, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I played it on Normal, and was pretty surprised with how tough it was. Can't imagine what it's like on the hardest difficulty level.

Story-wise...I don't know. I can understand what they were going for, but it never really hit home to me. Maybe it was because the gaps between play sessions were too big, but most of the story notes kinda went over my head and I didn't really have a clue what I was doing. Maybe that was the point? In that case, I feel like the point probably could have been made a bit better. I liked the choice aspect of it though; more games should do this. You don't need a huge dialog wheel or something; just the occasional choice to give you a feeling of interactivity with your character.

Good lord this season is absolute poop. VERY clear at this point that Benioff and Weiss needed to be done with this, rather than just wanted it. So many weird choices throughout. I'm going to assume that "Euron and Cersei forgot you could launch multiple bolts at a flying dragon" will be one of the reasons they give for Drogon's annihilation of the scorpions, followed by "Dany forgot that she could have just scorched the Red Keep", followed by "We forgot we could have had Dany destroy the Red Keep, destroying many buildings and killing innocents nearby while setting off a chain reaction of wildfire, so we could keep the Mad Queen a possibility rather than a total fact."

I guess next week we'll get Arya killing Dany (and hopefully Jon destroying the Iron Throne, allowing all the nations to rule themselves) and then I can finally be done wasting an hour and a half of my monday nights on this crap.

The absolute nothing end to Jaime and Cersei (and Bleuhron)'s story is also just...why?

Blonde Daisy is just aghdjkvnigjvndsinsdjisdnivsnisvnisniuusrgnvjksodscp. That guy getting leglocked is the luckiest dude in the universe. I mean, sure, it was probably a stunt person doing the leglock but in that universe, you know?!

Aside from that, I really enjoyed the first episode. It hooked me much more than the start of season five. I'm a bit sad that there's no snap, because I think it would be such a great setting for a TV-show, but I can also understand why they don't do it, because it would probably also be quite dark. Also a bit annoyed with another 'Fitz off to the sidelines' plot, but well, we'll see how it develops.

Yeah, Daisy looks awesome. But on the other side, Simmons looks pretty bad. Those bangs are ugly and do not work for her.

I think this is just a mirror to where they are as people. Daisy is living her best life; she's an Avengers-level character who has mastered her powers and is a known threat in the universe. Simmons is disheveled, because she's desperate to find Fitz and can't be bothered to do anything other than completely focus every bit of her energy into finding him.

Kind of hard to go back to these games...it's hard to fathom there was a time that I loved playing jRPGs like these but nowadays...the random encounters, coupled with the sense of "yeah you find out where you need to be going bruh" just made it a chore at times. It also didn't help that I didn't really feel the combat system was very interesting, neither in combat system or the build of characters.

Props to their attempt to give all the NPCs characters and accents. Props to the idea of giving all the party members their own chapter to develop their own character (although this is kinda made undone by none of the characters really doing anything at all once you get the Hero). Props to the technical aspects of this game. But I don't think I'd ever replay it, or do post-game content.

How paralyzingly dull, boring and tedious!
