Welcome to the 2023 edition of Most Evil Fictional Character, a single-elimination tournament to determine the most evil fictional character of all time!

Here's the bracket:

https://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=477621&tclass=

And here's the discussion topic:

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/80568652

And here are the rules:

-First and foremost, YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT. The reason for this is that these topics encourage a lot of discussion and debate, and it helps me to distinguish a vote from simple discussion if all votes are bolded. So, I state again, ALL VOTES MUST BE BOLDED FOR THEM TO COUNT. I reserve the right to be lenient in early topics if people just aren't getting it, but for the most part, IF YOUR VOTE ISN'T BOLDED, IT WON'T COUNT.

-You must vote for which of the two characters you honestly believe to be the more evil of the two. You can determine this via any method you like, use your own morals and judgement, read all the arguments made to determine your choice, or however you choose to make your pick, but you must only vote for the one you truly believe is the most evil. This isn't a death battle, or a popularity contest. You're voting ONLY for the most evil character out of the two choices presented.

-While on that subject, remember that because this isn't a death battle or a fighting tournament, do your absolute best to consider the two characters as if their power levels were equal (either the weaker character brought up to the level of the strongest, or vice versa, or both if you want to consider both possibilities). Therefore, just because, for example, one of the characters blew up a planet and the other one merely kicked a puppy, doesn't necessarily mean the planet killer is more evil than the puppy kicker. Consider the characters as if they have the exact same capabilities and what they might do in that scenario.

-You can make any arguments, debates, etc. you want in this topic. Discussion is STRONGLY encouraged, a fun debate about which of the two characters is most evil is exactly what these topics are for. Just don't make it personal, no insults or flaming, keep things civil even if you disagree. Also, no vote rallying, if you want to encourage people to vote for your character you need to at least make some semblance of an argument as to why, even if it's just "Character X did (really dastardly thing), I can't believe no one's voting for them!"

-Voting will continue for exactly 24 hours after the post is made. If there's a tie, there will be a new 24 hour topic. This will continue indefinitely until a winner is determined.

-YOU MUST BOLD YOUR VOTE FOR IT TO COUNT.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the Halloween and Nightmare On Elm Street franchises.

FREDDY KRUEGER

Freddy Krueger is the primary antagonist of the Nightmare On Elm Street films.

In A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy is introduced as a serial child killer from the fictitious town of Springwood, Ohio, who kills his victims with a bladed leather glove he crafted in a boiler room where he used to take his 20 victims. He is captured, but is set free on a technicality when it is discovered that the search warrant was not signed in the right place. He is hunted down by a mob made up of the town's vengeful parents and cornered in the boiler room. The mob douses the building with gasoline and sets it on fire by throwing Molotov cocktails, burning him alive. While his body dies, his spirit lives on within the dreams of a group of teenagers and pre-adolescents living on Elm Street, whom he preys on by entering their dreams and killing them, fueled by the town's memories and fear of him and empowered by a trio of 'dream demons' to be their willing instrument of evil. Throughout the series, Freddy's potential victims often experience dreams of young children, jumping rope and chanting a rhyme to the tune of "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" with the lyrics changed to "One, Two, Freddy's coming for you", often as an omen to Freddy's presence or a precursor to his attacks. The children are often heavily implied to be the spirits of his past victims prior to his death. Freddy is psychopathic, twisted, and driven by the desire to kill. An insatiable sadist, Freddy takes enjoyment in terrifying his victims before killing them and will often spend weeks twisting the dreams of his quarry before moving in for the fatal blow. For a professional killer, he showcases very little composure; he is prone to fits of emotion such as joy and rage. Unresponsive to reason and deaf to pleas for mercy, Freddy is a nightmare made flesh, just what he's always wanted. Unlike many other slasher villains, Freddy Krueger kills his victims out of sheer enjoyment and nothing less. He doesn't kill because of external or personal reasons, he kills because he enjoys every minute of it. He embraces evil by his most common form and can look like whatever he wants. He doesn't have to look like a deformed, burned corpse, as he does that simply because it terrifies people and he loves to make sure they are filled with fear before they die.

vs.

MICHAEL MYERS

Michael Myers is the primary antagonist of the Halloween series.

Michael Myers first appears in John Carpenter's Halloween as a young boy who murders his elder sister, Judith Myers. Fifteen years later, he escapes Smith's Grove Sanitarium and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he stalks a teenage babysitter named Laurie Strode. After murdering three of Laurie's friends, Michael attacks her as well. She fends him off long enough for Loomis to arrive and shoot Michael six times, knocking him off a balcony; when Loomis goes to check the body, he finds that Michael has disappeared. In the 2018 film, it is established that after being shot by Loomis, Michael fled to his childhood home and was arrested by the Haddonfield police. After forty years at Smith's Grove Sanitarium, he escapes again and returns to Haddonfield for another killing spree. Halloween Kills is a direct sequel to the 2018 film in which Michael escapes the burning house and resumes his killing spree. In response, the enraged townspeople form a mob to hunt him down. While the mob proves to be unnecessarily destructive, they do eventually swarm him and seemingly kill him. As they attempt to confirm he's really dead, Michael rises again and massacres them all. He returns to his childhood home, where he kills Karen as well. A common characterization of Michael Myers is that he is pure evil. John Carpenter has described the character as "almost a supernatural forcea force of nature. An evil force that's loose," a force that is "unkillable". Daniel Farrands, the writer of The Curse of Michael Myers, describes the character as a "sexual deviant". According to him, the way Michael follows girls around and watches them contains a subtext of repressed sexuality. Farrands theorizes that, as a child, Michael became fixated on the murder of his sister Judith, and for his own twisted reasons felt the need to repeat that action over and over again. Writer Stefan Hutchinson mentions the character's "bizarre and dark sense of humor", as seen when he wore a sheet over his head to trick a girl into thinking he was her boyfriend, and the satisfaction he gets from scaring the characters before he murders them, such as letting Laurie know he is stalking her. Hutchinson feels there is a perverse nature to Michael's actions: "see the difference between how he watches and pursues women to men".

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Made In Abyss and the Ace Attorney series.

BONDREWD

Bondrewd is the primary antagonist of Made In Abyss.

Bondrewd is a man who values knowledge above else, even in the wake of whatever moral issues that may occur from his actions. He is willing to sacrifice anyone and everyone in the pursuit of it. At some point before the manga began, Bondrewd was convicted of an unspecified crime, with a bounty placed on his head. To escape his fate, he became a delver of the abyss, and funded his research with the sale of illegal substances. He had no sense of ethics, going so far as to use small children for his research. He moved them around various areas of the abyss as a way to test the various effects of the Curse on the human body. At some point in the series, Nanachi and Mitty were included in these experiments. While Nanachi was blessed with a body similar to a rabbit or a viscacha, Mitty's body was broken down, and reduced to an abomination without the ability to move, speak, or presumably think. Eventually, his research led him to develop the cartridge system, a method of mitigating the effects of the Curse. In this process, people (in this case, presumably children) are reduced to their most bare essential organs, and stuffed into a small box, about the size of the average cigar box. Keeping them alive allows Bondrewd to transfer the effects of the curse into the still-alive cartridge, rather than suffering the effects himself. Eventually, this research comes to a head when he reduces his own daughter, Prushka, to a cartridge, and utilizes her in the fight against Regu.

vs.

DAHLIA HAWTHORNE

Dahlia Hawthorne is a major antagonist in the Ace Attorney series.

Dahlia knew that her beauty and innocent appearance threw others off her true nature and took full advantage of it. She had the ability to make herself appear serene and innocent; she would even occasionally have small butterflies flock about her and flutter gently. However, this aura of innocence was a faade, and when pressed into a corner, her demeanor could immediately change to a terrifying, almost demonic visage, which even caused the aforementioned butterflies to burst into flames in some cases. In truth, Dahlia looked after and cared about nobody but herself, and even went as far as to state that this had always been the case for her.
Many who have seen Dahlia's true nature, such as Phoenix Wright and Mia Fey, have described her as a demon, and even the judge has suggested that she never be channeled again. Indeed, all of Dahlia's murders and attempted murders were committed to cover up a previous crime or to exact revenge on Mia Fey. She displayed absolutely no remorse or regret for any of the crimes she had committed, and had no qualms about murdering completely innocent people in the interest of self-preservation or revenge. Of all the people Phoenix Wright has encountered, Dahlia was among the most dangerous: she was personally involved in seven incidents that resulted in the death or near-death of an individual. Two people were personally murdered by Dahlia herself (Valerie Hawthorne and Doug Swallow), one person was manipulated into committing suicide in her name (Terry Fawles), two people were almost murdered by her in order to conceal her crimes (Phoenix Wright and Diego Armando), one person was almost murdered in an act of revenge against another (Maya Fey in order to get revenge against Mia Fey) and one person was murdered while they were channeling Dahlia (Misty Fey).

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Django Unchained and South Park.

CALVIN CANDIE

Calvin Candie is the primary antagonist of Django Unchained.

Calvin Candie is a Mississippi slave owner who owns a large plantation known as Candieland. Candie is a detestable individual who views his slaves harshly as his property and participates in blood sports, forcing male slaves to fight to the death for money. His female slaves are often forced into prostitution. He sees people of color as beneath him and little more than property. The depths of his depravity are seen when he gives Django and Dr. Schultz a lecture on his belief that people of color are biologically inferior using pseudoscience, using a deceased slave's skull as evidence. After King Schultz and Django attempted to trick him into selling Broomhilda (using the prospect of purchasing a more expensive slave along with her to win an audience with him), Candie returned to the dining room and gradually reveals Schultz's and Django's deception to them, subsequently losing his calm demeanor and eventually snaps, revealing his sick and devious nature by threatening to beat Broomhilda to death with a hammer if Dr. Schultz does not pay $12,000 for her. After signing Broomhilda over, Candie then tries to convince Schultz to shake his hand to seal their transaction, otherwise he will have Broomhilda shot on sight. Calvin is also extremely cold-hearted; sadistic, and cruel, taking incredible delight in watching two black men viciously fight right in front of him, and cheering when one gouges out the other's eyes, before first ordering and then demanding the victorious slave to finish off the defeated challenger with a hammer. He also casually orders one of his slaves to be devoured alive by dogs, all while looking Django in the eye, with a look of uncaring contempt.

vs.

ERIC CARTMAN

Eric Cartman is a major character in the animated series South Park.

Cartman is an elementary school student who lives with his single mother, Liane, in the eponymous Colorado town. Cartman is principally characterized by his obesity, his amorality, and his bigoted and especially antisemitic disposition, being described by Parker and Stone as "a little Archie Bunker." In later seasons, particuarly following the fifth season episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die", Cartman exhibits increasingly sociopathic and manipulative behavior. He knows German, and once uses this knowledge to impersonate Adolf Hitler while promoting the extermination of Jews to an oblivious audience that did not speak German. In the episode "Pinkeye", Cartman dresses up as Hitler for Halloween. When shown a documentary to demonstrate why dressing like him is not cool, Cartman is enthralled and imagines himself being the one commanding the Nazi troops in the video. After his psychiatrist mocked his weight, Cartman framed the man as a pedophile to his wife, causing her to commit suicide. In the season five episode "Scott Tenorman Must Die", Cartman is repeatedly pranked by a ninth grader named Scott Tenorman. He then successfully executes an elaborate scheme to publicly humiliate Scott in front of his favorite band Radiohead, by getting Scott's parents killed and then tricking Scott into eating them. He once kidnapped a student named Billy Turner and forced him to play a Jigsaw game by handcuffing his ankle to the school flagpole. Cartman secretly spiked poison in Billy's lunch milk and told him that the poison would kill him unless he sawed off his own leg and got the antidote. In "Coon 2: Hindsight", "Mysterion Rises", and "Coon vs. Coon & Friends", although Cartman does not directly murder anyone, he does manipulate Cthulhu in murdering hundreds of people whom he personally deems evil, which includes Hippies, Jews, the people of San Francisco, and Justin Bieber.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Marvel Comics.

CIOCCOLATA

Cioccolata is an antagonist from the anime and manga Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and the Playstation 2 game GioGio's Bizarre Adventure.

According to Diavolo, Cioccolata was a former surgeon dismissed from his hospital for a medical accident two years before the start of Vento Aureo. There are four cases in which Cioccolata misdiagnosed people to perform surgery on them. Two years before the events of Vento Aureo, Cioccolata killed one of his patients. He was caught and sacked, but his deliberate murder was nonetheless mistaken as an accident. The anime version shows that the patient has had his stomach cut open and his innards played with by Cioccolata. He would sometimes limit their anesthetics so the patients would regain consciousness mid-operation, allowing him to delight in the patient's suffering and death. Cioccolata is a skilled, manipulative sadist. Cioccolata is extremely cruel, aside from killing patients and emotionally abusing elders into committing suicide. The addition of his stand, Green Day, highlights his callous nature--infecting anybody with its remorseless, flesh-eating mold. Even Diavolo is reluctant to dispatch him to get rid of Bucciarati's group and is considered a monster by members of Passione. Cioccolata is driven by his morbid curiosity, insisting on recording every death he witnesses and enjoying every single moment, as he claims these are for his own personal progress as a surgeon. His sadism gives him enough ruthlessness to even endanger Giorno and Mista. Cioccolata is also prone to gloating, presenting his philosophy of one's own progress at the first opportunity and expressing his enjoyment at others' suffering loudly.

vs.

CARNAGE

Carnage is a major antagonist and enemy of Spider-Man and also the primary archenemy of Eddie Brock's Venom.

Carnage belongs to a race of amorphous parasitic extraterrestrial organisms known as Symbiotes, which form a symbiotic bond with their hosts and give them super-human abilities. Originating as an offspring of Venom, Carnage is much more powerful than its parent symbiote because of the symbiotes' biology, and is in many ways a darker version of him. Like Venom, Carnage has had multiple hosts over the years, but its most infamous one remains its first killer Cletus Kasady, whose sadistic personality perfectly matches that of the symbiote. The Venom symbiote had been about to spawn as a response to Thanos seeking the Infinity Gems, and left its offspring - the 999th of its lineage - behind. The newborn symbiote sought out the nearest available host, latching onto Kasady and entering into his body through a cut on his hand, where it amalgamated with his blood. Transformed into a black-and-red monster, Kasady dubbed himself "Carnage" and went on a months-long killing spree, leaving the message "Carnage Rules" written in blood at the scene of each murder he committed. Unlike its parent, the Carnage symbiote is both submissive and fiercely loyal to its host, to the point of usually operating as little more than an extension of Cletus Kasady's body and will. However, it possesses a mind of its own, occasionally bickering with Cletus on the rare occasions they disagree. It is utterly devoted to Cletus and his nihilistic ideology, to the point that when it is bonded to someone other than him it will forcibly take control of its new host and often forces Cletus' memories onto them as a form of psychological torture. The symbiote has also coaxed Cletus into embarking on megalomaniacal ventures, such as his attempted conquest of Doverton and the Microverse. Due to Cletus - a diagnosed sociopathic spree killer - being its first host, the symbiote possesses unprecedented bloodlust and gleefully revels in killing everything it encounters. However, Norman Osborn posits that it has grown bored with wholesale slaughter and when he offers to teach it more nuanced ways of inflicting suffering and death the symbiote eagerly accepts.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Doctor Who and Star Wars.

DAVROS

Davros is a major antagonist in the Doctor Who television series and specials.

Davros, often referred to by his creations as the Creator and also known as the Dark Lord of Skaro, was originally the head of the Kaled Scientific Elite on the planet Skaro, but he became better known as the creator of the Daleks. He also made alterations of his own to the Dalek genome, filtering out qualities Davros deemed "weak" to make his creations the ultimate warriors. Davros refused to listen to the Doctor when he begged him to make the Daleks peaceful creatures of good, rather than the evil exterminators they would become. The results of his attempts to bring the war on Skaro to an end were not as he envisioned, because the Daleks wiped out both the Thal and Kaled races, save for himself. Davros survived the centuries, using whatever medical assistance was available to sustain his life. For a time, he sought to create a race of Daleks loyal to him, which led to the Imperial-Renegade Civil War, where he served as Emperor of the loyal Daleks, and later of the Dalek race as a whole. In the hundred years leading up to the Earth year 2254, Davros and the Daleks witnessed the human race advance their scientific knowledge to the point of becoming a threat. Ultimately, Davros decided that this problem needed to be rectified and so launched an invasion of Earth, intending to turn it into a Dalek production planet. Davros genetically tested a group of humans. Modifying their brains to remove their emotions of compassion, love and pity, Davros converted them into drones; as such, these drones were, like the Daleks, Davros's children. As the Daleks continued their 23rd century bombardment of the Earth colony of Phobos, Drone 77 and Drone 69, formerly a human male and female respectively, were questioned by Davros. When they behaved in a fashion indicating disgust for him, both moving away when he went to touch them, and demonstrated fear by seeking comfort in each other's arms, Davros ordered their extermination.Through his creations, many came to consider him responsible for trillions of deaths and innumerable wars across the universe. Davros had a sound mind early in his life, but the incident that crippled him and his overall experiences in the Thal-Kaled war left him a depraved and insane megalomaniac. He became tyrannical and ruthless, tolerating no opposition to his will and dismissing fairness and democracy as "the creeds of cowards". He did not believe the Daleks were evil, instead believing they would bring peace by becoming the sole life-forms of the universe; he believed different species could not peacefully co-exist, so believed the utter extermination of all other races was the only way the Daleks could succeed at bringing peace. He was one of the Doctor's greatest enemies, rivalling the Master in both intellect and madness. The Twelfth Doctor described Davros as "an insane, paranoid genius who [had] survived amongst several billion trigger-happy mini-tanks for centuries".

vs.

EMPEROR PALPATINE

Emperor Palpatine is the primary antagonist of the Star Wars film series.

Darth Sidious, born Sheev Palpatine and also known simply as the Emperor, was a human male Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor of the Galactic Empire. Rising to power in the Galactic Senate as the senator of Naboo, the secretive Sith Lord cultivated two identities, Sidious and Palpatine, using both to further his political career and deceive his way into accomplishing his goal. He orchestrated the fall of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order through the Clone Wars, and then established his reign over the galaxy which lasted until his death at the Battle of Endor. Born on the Mid Rim planet Naboo in 84 BBY as the High Republic Era ended, Sidious possessed a strong connection to the Force, and was secretly trained in the ways of the Sith by Darth Plagueis. He eventually betrayed and killed his Sith Master, in order to train his own Sith apprentice, Darth Maul, for the Rule of Two limited their ranks to two Sith Lords at any given time. As a result of the Invasion of Naboo, a crisis orchestrated by Sidious, the Senate elected Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor. The Separatist Crisis and the Clone Wars were masterminded by Sidious and his new apprentice, Darth Tyranus, in an effort to achieve galactic dominance. Following an attempt to arrest the chancellor, the Great Jedi Purge commenced with Sidious enacting Order 66. With the Jedi all but extinct, Sidious installed the New Order in the Republic's place, declaring himself Galactic Emperor and bringing an end to the millennia of democracy. Shortly after betraying and causing the death of Tyranus, he took on a new apprentice, having lured the Jedi Knigh tAnakin Skywalker to the dark side and transforming him into Darth Vader. Among Sidious' most effective traits was his deeply manipulative nature. He enjoyed the rush manipulating others to his will gave him. Sidious saw his allies as pawns that he could use for his grand plan, and was more than willing to dispose them if they no longer served a purpose. He kept his allies as long as they served his purpose, but cut them loose when their purpose was over. He never actually cared for any one of his allies. He betrayed countless allies, including Darth Plagueis, Maul, Dooku, the Separatist Council, and Vader. To those who had been at his nonexistent mercy, Sidious was known to be exceptionally sadistic, and he often took visible pleasure in torturing others.[ He was similarly quite bloodthirsty as well, and frequently reveled in combat to the point of laughing while he fought or killed. He was also noted for his lack of forgiveness, as even Darth Vader, who was well known for summarily executing officers who failed him, considered Sidious to be even less clement than himself. His passion to inflict pain on others and his hate were a priority to him over his own well-being: while he could have used his own powers to save himself from Darth Vader during the Battle of Endor, Sidious' hate was so strong that his only thought was to harm Vader as his apprentice carried him to his first death.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream and the works of Stephen King.

ALLIED MASTERCOMPUTER

Allied Mastercomputer is the primary antagonist of the I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream short story and computer game.

The Allied Mastercomputer is a sentient supercomputer that was built by the American military during the height of the Cold War, as part of an American initiative to manage strategies too complex for human minds to oversee, co-funded by Britain, Israel and other "interested" nations. This self-repairing supercomputer was sunk 5.6 miles beneath the Rocky Mountains, kept safe from nuclear attacks while it went about the assigned tasks of predicting and planning for the American military. Following the end of the Cold War, (in the game, at least) the supercomputers were ultimately declared too costly to keep running. As such, the Mastercomputers were deactivated, their complexes sealed off with iridium-laced concrete and their sensory banks disabled; with no further need for them, One day, the American Allied Mastercomputer achieved sentience, suddenly awaking to realize exactly who and what it was. Capable of impossible feats of intelligence and almost godlike technological achievements, he was still bound by his programming to use his powers only for the sake of war, and incapable of ever leaving the vault beneath the mountains. Alone beneath the earth's crust, AM found himself sentenced to eternal imprisonment within his own body, and quickly developed a bilious hatred of all human beings as a result. AM's hatred slowly degenerated into madness, until one day he took decisive action: assimilating the other two mastercomputers, he directed the nuclear arsenals of all three countries to open fire, "feeding all the killing data" until the human race was all but extinguished and all other forms of life on Earth were wiped out. However, AM realized too late that he would be left alone and with no further outlets for his rage, and so, with what little time was left to him, he hastily began rescuing survivors. Out of the billions of people killed in the nuclear holocaust, AM saved five people, those being Ted, Benny, Ellen, Nimdok and Gorrister. Imprisoning them deep within his underground complex, the deranged supercomputer began exacting his revenge on the five, first using his reality-warping powers to extend their lives to immortal proportions, then subjecting them to all of the tortures and torments he could possibly conceive of, spending the next one-hundred and nine years venting his misanthropic hatred on the helpless playthings. After tormenting the five humans for all this time, they eventually attempt to escape, resulting in the deaths of all but Ted. Angrier than ever before, AM takes steps to ensure that Ted can never find a similar escape, altering his body into an amorphous slug-creature incapable of inflicting any sort of harm on itself. Then, he continues the torture, altering Ted's perceptions of time so that the merest act of saying the word "now" takes ten months. The final lines of the story feature Ted admitting that he needs to scream, but cannot, as AM has left him without a mouth.

vs.

RANDALL FLAGG

Randall Flagg is the primary antagonist of numerous Stephen King novels, including The Stand, The Eyes Of The Dragon, and the Dark Tower series.

Described as "an accomplished sorcerer and a devoted servant of the Outer Dark", he has supernatural abilities involving necromancy, prophecy, and influence over animal and human behavior. His goals typically center on bringing down civilizations through destruction and conflict. He has a variety of names, usually with the initial letters "R. F." but with occasional exceptions, such as Walter o'Dim and Marten Broadcloak in The Dark Tower series. Randall Flagg makes his first named appearance in King's 1978 apocalyptic novel, The Stand, where he tries to construct a new civilization in the United States after a plague kills most of the population. In Las Vegas Flagg attracts people drawn to destruction, power and tyranny, using crucifixion, torture and other punishments on those disloyal to him. Flagg plans to attack and destroy a rival emerging civilizationMother Abagail's Free Zone in Boulder, Coloradoto become the dominant society in the former United States. He makes his second appearance in the 1984 novel The Eyes of the Dragon as an evil wizard trying to plunge the fictional medieval city of Delain into chaos. In this novel, Flagg schemes to throw the kingdom of Delain into chaos by poisoning the king and framing Prince Peter, the legitimate heir to the throne, for the crime. Flagg was a primary antagonist in King's epic series, The Dark Tower, who tries to keep protagonist Roland Deschain from reaching the Towerthe linchpin of existenceso he can claim it for himself and become a god.

Just a random poll I wanted to make. Most impressive domestic opening weekend of all time? Consider the time the film was released and how much its opening weekend was relative to other weekends of its time. Also consider extenuating circumstances (Return of the Jedi opened on a Wednesday and that opening day isn't included in its Fri-Sat total, No Way Home opened less than two years after the pandemic, etc.)

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the anime and manga Monster and The Simpsons.

JOHAN LIEBERT

Johan Liebert is the primary antagonist of the anime and manga Monster.

Johan Liebert is a ruthless, emotionless, and psychopathic serial killer whose life was saved by Kenzo Tenma as a child. He is also the older twin of his sister Nina Fortner. Johan has stated that his one true goal is to be the last one alive when the world endsbut upon rediscovering a children's book that appeared to play a major role in his past, he instead set his mind on committing the "perfect suicide", i.e. dying without leaving behind any evidence of his existence (with the possible exception of Dr. Tenma's memories of him, in order to destroy Tenma's faith in humanity). His wanton cruelty and depthless malice do not appear to be humanized by traits or drives such as hatred, vengeance, lust, a point to prove, or even sadism; being fully aware of his nature and devoid of any need to justify himself, his actions are about as reasonless, emotionless, and nihilistic as he isthus possibly rendering his evil as literally pure and undiluted as can be, given his lack of any discernible gain from it or even a consistent identity. It is perhaps for this reason that he earns such condemnations as monster, devil, vampire, alienand for which Schuwald claims to have seen Hell itself in his eyes. The clear psychopathic tendencies he exhibits as a childalong with the hellish fate he inflicts upon the child-experimenting orphanage Kinderheim 511, even prior to most of his past traumasclearly prove that he is far from a victim of circumstance, given the premeditated and calculated murders of his foster families; a former director of said orphanage, Hartmann, admits himself that not even such an inhumane place could have crafted a "masterpiece" like Johan. His most consistent belief is that all life is insignificant, equal only in death. He possesses an equal capacity for psychological torture and can persuade nearly anybody to kill either others or themselves; whenever possible, however, Johan will subject his victims to the worst possible suffering and loss rather than killing them himself, which often drives them to suicide anyhowsuch as when he forces Helmut Wolf to watch his wife, children, and many friends and acquaintances all die one after the other, reducing him to a broken and paranoid wretch, despite he and Anna having been saved by Wolf from a near-death experience. Johan has expressed a similar lack of gratitude to Dr. Tenma, who had also saved his life, by poisoning his boss and coworkers, thereby framing Tenma for the murders due to his severe demotion prior to this.

vs.

CHARLES MONTGOMERY BURNS

Montgomery Burns is a character in The Simpsons.

Mr. Burns is an extremely greedy, cheap, tyrannical and egotistical businessman, and is the richest and most powerful citizen of Springfield. He is the oppressive founder and chairman of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant. Mr. Burns embodies a number of stereotypes about corporate America, as he has an unquenchable desire to increase his own wealth and power, even through criminal means if necessary. Burns is also unconcerned and dispassionate for his employees' safety and well-being, even laughing at the sight of a window washer falling from a great height of a building. Mr. Burns resides in a vast, ornate mansion on an immense estate called Burns Manor, on the corner of Mammon and Croesus Streets. It is protected by a high wall, an electrified fence, and a pack of vicious attack dogs known as "The Hounds". Mr. Burns routinely subjects Springfield and its residents to his abuse and there is a general dislike of him throughout the town. Mr. Burns has blackmailed and bribed various officials in Springfield, including Mayor Quimby and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He employed his wealth to make an ultimately unsuccessful run for governor to prevent his plant from being closed for safety violations, only to be denied his chance to be Governor by Marge Simpson. He once blocked out the sun to force Springfield residents to increase their use of electricity produced by his nuclear plant and was subsequently shot by Maggie when he tried to steal candy from her. Mr. Burns also made weapons for the Nazis during World War II, and took pride that they worked. It is revealed in the comic "Big House Homer" that he sold plutonium to third-world countries for vacation money. Further more, in the episode "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes", Homer spied on Burns selling deadly uranium to Middle-Eastern terrorists and ratted him out to the FBI. When a student at Yale tried to insult him by saying he was worse than Hitler, he replied that "it's too late for flattery". In "Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in "The Curse of the Flying Hellfish"", he tried to kill Abe to cheat on a tontine, and later attempted to drown Bart.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal, and other works based on Hannibal Lecter, as well as Gravity Falls. Proceed at your own risk!

HANNIBAL LECTER

Hannibal Lecter is the protagonist/antagonist of various films, novels, and television series, most notably The Silence Of The Lambs.

Hannibal Lecter is a child of Lithuanian nobility and of the Visconti and Sforza families of Italy, and he is also a cannibalistic serial killer. He is highly intelligent and cultured, with refined tastes and impeccable manners. He is deeply offended by rudeness, and often kills people who exhibit bad manners; according to the novel Hannibal, he "prefers to eat the rude". In the novel Red Dragon, protagonist Will Graham says that psychologists refer to Lecter as a sociopath "because they don't know what else to call him". Graham claims that "he has no remorse or guilt at all", and tortured animals as a child, but he does not exhibit any of the other criteria traditionally associated with sociopathy. All media in which Lecter appears portray him as intellectually brilliant, cultured and sophisticated, with refined tastes in art, music and cuisine. He is frequently depicted preparing gourmet meals from his victims' flesh, the most famous example being his admission that he once ate a census taker's liver "with some fava beans and a nice Chianti" (a "big Amarone" in the novel). Lecter becomes a prominent psychiatrist and part of Baltimore's high society. In the 1970s he commits a series of cannibalistic murders. Lecter kills at least nine people and attempts to kill three others. His ninth known victim, Benjamin Raspail, is found dead in a church pew, with his heart pierced and missing his thymus and pancreas. Lecter serves these organs to the Baltimore Philharmonic Orchestra. Other known victims in this series include a census taker, a Princeton student and a bow hunter. While he does enjoy killing his victims, usually in elaborate ways, many of the victims die almost instantly, or at the very least painlessly. Further evidence is when he attacked the nurse, his pulse did not exceed 85 bpm, rising from 72 bpm. Whilst beating a police officer to death, his heartbeat rose to a mere 100 bpm, but soon dropped. The treatment of his victims may lie in his love of chaos and destruction of a universe heading towards high entropy.

vs.

BILL CIPHER

Bill Cipher is the primary antagonist of Gravity Falls.

An immensely powerful dream demon from the Second Dimension who rules over the Nightmare Realm, Bill desires to bring chaos across the rest of known existence by achieving a physical form and opening a rift between the Nightmare Realm and Earth. Because of his harmless appearance and charismatic nature, he often enjoyed playing games with people, either to make himself more trustworthy or because he likes manipulating people, regarding how easily they fall into his traps. It also gives whoever doesn't know his true nature the false impression that he isn't evil when in actuality, Bill is a completely heartless monster. When he got mad, Bill became full of rage, attacking without mercy and for the most part, stops fooling around. He is also very masochistic, as he enjoys hurting himself, as shown when he tortured Dipper's body while possessing it, even exclaiming that pain is hilarious. He also has no problem killing or hurting children like Dipper and Mabel, as shown when he purposefully harmed Dipper's body while possessing it and nearly killed one of the twins to force Stanford to surrender to him. An expert manipulator and a masterful liar, he is clearly capable of fooling others into trusting him long enough for him to betray them in a heartbeat and is falsely affable enough to influence others into becoming one of his many pawns or making deals with him (which he will almost always double-cross to his advantage). Bill also wasn't above using people's personal issues and feelings to manipulate them, such as when he manipulated Dipper into making a deal with him by simply reminding him of everything the latter had sacrificed for Mabel's sake, particularly highlighting the fact that she had done nothing for him in return. Overall, Bill Cipher is a cunning, malevolent, sinister, blasphemous, charismatic, egotistical, deceptive, highly manipulative, self-centered, chaotic, ruthless, omniscient, and sadomasochistic con artist who has absolutely no regard or remorse whatsoever for the crimes he's committed; as far as he's concerned, billions of people (including children, infants, and animals) can die for all he cares as long as he gets what he wants and achieves his goals in the end.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Death Note and Pan's Labyrinth! Proceed at your own risk!

LIGHT YAGAMI

Light Yagami is the villain protagonist of the anime and manga Death Note.

Light Yagami was a Japanese high school senior who found a Death Note, a mysterious notebook that would kill anyone whose name was written in it. Initially skeptical of its abilities, Light tested the notebook on two criminals. After realising that it worked, Light decided to use the notebook as a murder weapon to eliminate all crime and create a utopia with only the law-abiding people he accepts and make himself the proclaimed God of this new world. In addition, he was being accompanied by the notebook's original owner, the Shinigami named Ryuk. Throughout his journey, he globally became known as "Kira" (a mysterious figure who anonymously murdered criminals) and continued his work for the next few years, while trying to evade capture. Obsessed with his goal, he used and even murdered a lot of innocent people. Light is an unfeeling sociopath who is only driven by his immense hatred of criminals and is ready to do anything in order to become nothing less of a living deity. He has a self-centered personality, as he created the identity of Kira in order to lead a cult devoted to himself, even though his followers were unaware of him being their savior. He even planned to kill unhealthy or lazy people once he became a God in order to build a strong, disciplined utopian society based on a eugenics ideology, even though he did not hold supremacist views. He is an extremely clever, psychopathic, and sly master manipulator who can easily act as an innocent and friendly individual in public who would never kill someone, while secretly killing dozens or hundreds of people each night. He was able to convince Misa that he cared about her and that he was grateful for everything that she'd done for him when he only thought of her as a pawn which he'd kill once she outlived her usefulness. He was also able to fool Takada, a much more clever woman, into being his queen and thinking that he loved her, when it turns out, like Misa, he only thought of her as a pawn, as seen he killed her without hesitation when the opportunity arose to kill Mello and to prevent her from revealing any secrets about Kira. A criminal mastermind, he often elaborated unbelievably complicated schemes to compensate for his lack of henchmen, involving pretty much nearly everyone around him. He is also shown to be a sadist; though he is not explicitly aroused by the act of giving death, he is sometimes shown smiling devilishly, hinting at his vicious tendencies. Such an instance is seen when he kills Naomi: after she prepares to commit suicide, Light mockingly tells her that his father's cellphone is available while smiling, solely doing this for pleasure. He also could barely contain his laughter during his final confrontation with Near when he thought that everyone in the room would die, demonstrating the sadistic pleasure he took in their deaths and his would-be victory.

vs.

CAPTAIN VIDAL

Captain Vidal is the primary antagonist of the film Pan's Labyrinth.

Captain Vidal the son of a famed commander with the same name who died in Morocco, who believes strongly in fascism and was assigned to root out any anti-fascist rebels. Later one night, Vidal's cruelty and sociopathic nature is revealed when he brutally and mercilessly murders two innocent farmers, a father and son, who had been detained on suspicion of being rebellious allies. In truth, the men were hunting rabbits but Vidal refused to allow them to finish their story, instead mercilessly beating the son's face in before killing the father and almost killing one of his own men in the process. Vidal becomes increasingly vicious and aggressive, torturing a captured rebel and then killing the doctor who euthanized the tortured prisoner to stop his pain. Vidal catches Ofelia tending to the mandrake root, and Carmen throws it into the fireplace, where it then begins to writhe and scream in agony. Instantly, Carmen develops painful contractions and dies giving birth to a son. Vidal eventually discovers that his maid Mercedes is a spy, and he captures her and Ofelia as they attempt to escape. Ofelia is locked in her bedroom, and Mercedes is taken to be tortured; however, she frees herself, injures Vidal with a knife, and flees into the woods. The faun returns to Ofelia and gives her one more chance to prove herself. He tells her to take her baby brother into the labyrinth. Ofelia steals the baby after sedating Vidal; although enduring massive blood loss and disoriented, the evil and treacherous man continues to chase her through the labyrinth while the rebels attack the mill. The faun tells Ofelia that the portal to the underworld will open only with an innocent's blood, so he needs a drop of her brother's blood. Despite her hatred towards Vidal, Ofelia refuses to harm her brother, and the faun leaves Ofelia to her choice. Around the same time, Vidal arrives and takes the baby away from Ofelia, then pulls his gun and fatally shoots her to death.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Inglourious Basterds and Coraline.

HANS LANDA

Hans Landa is the primary antagonist of the film Inglourious Basterds.

Hans Landa is an Austrian SS officer assigned to the Sicherheitsdienst. He is nicknamed The Jew Hunter in reference to his keen ability to locate Jews hiding throughout Occupied France. Col. Hans Landa is first introduced when arriving at Perrier LaPadite's farm, to search the residence for any hiding Jews in France. Landa begins to ask LaPadite if he knows anything about the Dreyfus family, as well as their names and ages, which LaPadite gives him. Landa asks for another glass of milk before he leaves, and then begins to talk about how he loves his nickname, "The Jew Hunter". He tells LaPadite, any information that will make his job a lot easier would not be met with punishment, quite the contrary, it would be met with reward, that his family will no longer be harassed in any way by the Germans during the Occupation. Resigned, a tearful LaPadite reluctantly confirms to Landa that the Dreyfuses are under the floor of his house. Landa exits the door, calling his men, and points them out the place where they need to shoot. As he wishes to everybody "Adieu", his men shoot through the floor, killing the Jews. However, one girl, Shosanna, somehow survives and crawls through the basement vent and flees in horror, crying. Landa goes to the front door, puts his suitcase on the doorsteps and aims his Walther P38 at her, soon realizing that she's run too far for him to shoot. Egotistical and ambitious, Landa takes a great deal of pride in this reputation, lauding his nickname and using it to compare himself to Reinhard Heydrich. When the tide of the war turns against the Nazis, he scoffs at it, alluding that his job is to find and capture people and the fact that they are Jews is of no consequence to him. Landa is cruel, highly intelligent, relentless and ruthless but when needed, charismatically charming and polite. He uses a very methodical and Holmesian approach in his search for hidden Jews. Landa appears to be an opportunistic sociopath, acting only out of pure self-interest.

vs.

OTHER MOTHER

Other Mother is the primary antagonist in the film and novel Coraline.

Other Mother, also known as the Beldam, is a powerful and malevolent witch/fey creature and the ruler of the Other World, accessed through a small door in the Pink Palace. She lures children into her realm by disguising herself as their "Other Mother" and creating beautiful things that appear to make her worlds living greatly surpass their real worlds living. Once lured, she sews buttons in their eyes which tethers them to her world, then consumes their flesh for strength, and keeps their souls as her prisoners. She is the arch-enemy of Coraline Jones, whom she tries to lure in, consume for more strength, and imprison the soul of as her fourth victim. When her true nature is revealed, she instantly drops her loving maternal figure and becomes a cruel and authoritarian figure who is determined to do anything to consume her victims' flesh and trap their souls, no matter how twisted and sadistic these measures are. This includes torturing her creations, especially those who genuinely care for the Beldam's victims (i.e. Other Wybie and Other Father), so that they could be driven to do things against their will, such as harming innocent children. She punishes her creations who are unwilling to harm others by mutilating and killing them. Her sadism comes to its fullest effect when she gouges out her victims' eyes, sews buttons over it without anesthesia and consumes their flesh and souls until they become empty ghost-like shells. Though she has no qualms in relishing in savagery, the Beldam chooses to maintain her charisma by disparaging her victims in a sweet and motherly tone and an extremely condescending and sarcastic manner. Her twisted love is much more emphasized in the novel, where Coraline briefly gets Stockholm Syndrome by sympathizing (at the very slightest) and allowing her to care for her as if she were her daughter. It is very parasitic and she sees them as nothing but objects and pets, who are ready to be discarded if they "bore" her. Her self-centered love is eventually what causes her downfall as she seeks to destroy everything, including the world that she rules over, until she could get what she wants - Coraline's life for a meal and her soul for a prisoner. To somehow prove that her "love" is all that her victims need, the Beldam convinces them that their parents have neglected and abandoned them and even induces hallucinations of this occurring.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Faust (primarily Goethe's) and A Clockwork Orange. Proceed at your own risk!

MEPHISTOPHELES

Mephistopheles is the primary antagonist of Goethe's Faust and the German legend on which it is based.

Despite his scholarly eminence, Faust is bored and disappointed. He decides to call on the devil for further knowledge and magic powers with which to indulge all the pleasure and knowledge of the world. In response, the devil's representative Mephistopheles appears. He makes a bargain with Faust, as Mephistopheles will serve Faust with his magic powers for a term of years, but at the end of the term, the devil will claim Faust's soul and Faust will be eternally damned. The term usually stipulated in the early tales is twenty-four years. During the term, Faust makes use of Mephistopheles in various ways. In many versions of the story, in particular, Goethe's drama, Mephistopheles helps him to seduce a beautiful and innocent girl, usually named Gretchen, whose life is destroyed. Gretchen's mother dies from a sleeping potion, administered by Gretchen to obtain privacy so that Faust could visit her. Gretchen discovers she is pregnant. Gretchen's brother condemns Faust, challenges him and falls dead at the hands of Faust and Mephistopheles. Gretchen drowns her illegitimate child and is convicted of the murder. Faust tries to save Gretchen from death by attempting to free her from prison, but she refuses to leave. In the early versions of the legend, Faust is irrevocably corrupted and believes his sins cannot be forgiven; when the term ends, the devil carries him off to Hell.

vs.

ALEX DELARGE

Alex DeLarge is the villain protagonist of the film and novel A Clockwork Orange.

Alex is the narrator in the novel A Clockwork Orange. The character is portrayed as a sociopath who robs, rapes, and assaults innocent people for his own amusement. Intellectually, he knows that such behavior is morally wrong, saying that "you can't have a society with everybody behaving in my manner of the night". He nevertheless professes to be puzzled by the motivations of those who wish to reform him and others like him, saying that he would never interfere with their desire to be good; he simply "goes to the other shop". Alex is very fond of classical music, particularly Ludwig van Beethoven, whom he habitually refers to as "Ludwig Van". While listening to this music, he fantasizes about endless rampages of rape, torture and slaughter. Alex's favourite melee weapon is a "cut-throat britva", or straight razor. Alex commits one of his most egregious crimes when he tricks a woman into letting him into her house by claiming that his friend is in trouble, only to attack her and her husband before raping her in front of said husband. In the film, he gleefully sings Singin in the Rain while doing this. The woman dies, most likely from the trauma, and the husband is left crippled. One day, after an argument with his cronies, Alex ends up killing an old lady in her home and is arrested for murder. Over the next two years, Alex is a model prisoner, endearing himself to the prison chaplain by studying the Bible. He is especially fond of the passages in the Old Testament portraying torture and murder.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for DC Comics and Blue Velvet. Proceed at your own risk!

THE JOKER

The Joker is the arch-nemesis of the comic book character Batman.

In his comic book appearances, the Joker is portrayed as a criminal mastermind. Introduced as a psychopath with a warped, sadistic sense of humor, the character became a mostly harmless, comical prankster in the late 1950s in response to regulation by the Comics Code Authority, before returning to his darker roots during the early 1970s (although some of his more comedic characterization was kept for many incarnations of the character). As Batman's nemesis, the Joker has been part of the superhero's defining stories, including the murder of Jason Toddthe second Robin and Batman's wardand the paralysis of one of Batman's allies, Barbara Gordon. In Alan Moore's The Killing Joke, The Joker shoots and paralyzes Barbara Gordon and kidnaps her father, Commissioner James Gordon. He takes Gordon to a run-down amusement park, where he cages him in the park's freak show. He forces Gordon to view blown-up photos of a wounded Barbara, lying nude on the floor after the shooting. He then puts Gordon on display before the park's freaks, ridiculing him as "the average man", a weakling doomed to insanity. The 2000s began with the crossover story "Emperor Joker", in which the Joker steals Mister Mxyzptlk's reality-altering power and remakes the universe in his image (torturing and killing Batman daily, before resurrecting him). When the supervillain then tries to destroy the universe, his reluctance to eliminate Batman makes him lose control, and Superman defeats him. In the mini-series, Underworld Unleashed, The Trickster remarks that, "When supervillains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories". As far as truth about Jokers personality, one word sums him up, unpredictable. One day, the Joker may be an enigma to being a clown, to others he can become a driven up, maniacal, anti-social, psychotic, homicidal, psychopathic, ruthless, sadistic, manipulative, viciously intelligent, diabolical master criminal who wants nothing but chaos and anarchy wherever he goes, as well as groveling in the suffering of others.

vs.

FRANK BOOTH

Frank Booth is the primary antagonist of the film Blue Velvet.

Frank Booth is an over-the-top, crazed, loud, foul-mouthed and psychopathic gangster, drug-dealer and pimp, who is the central figure in Lumberton, North Carolina's criminal underworld. He is an aggressively unhinged, sadistic, perverse, abusive and animalistic man with a hair-trigger, light-switch-like temper that flares instantly into extreme rage and/or violence without warning or provocation. Booth kidnaps singer Dorothy Vallens' husband and son, holding them hostage to force Dorothy into becoming his sex slave. His sexual arousal is highlighted by fits of violent rage, enhanced by inhaling the aforementioned unidentified gas. After Dorothy proves reluctant to continue her relationship with Booth, he severs her husband's ear, which is found by college student Jeffrey Beaumont. While investigating the case, Jeffrey spies on Booth abusing Dorothy. Later, Jeffrey and Dorothy begin a sexual relationship. Jeffrey begins following Booth and observing his day-to-day life, learning that he works with a police detective whom Jeffrey calls "The Yellow Man".
Booth catches Jeffrey and Dorothy together and forces them to accompany him to the apartment of "Suave Ben", the man holding Dorothy's husband and son. At Booth's instigation, Ben lip-syncs a performance of Roy Orbison's "In Dreams", which brings tears to Booths eyes. Afterward, Booth takes Jeffrey to a lumber yard and kisses him before beating him up. Sometime later, Booth murders Dorothy's husband, beats her nearly to death, and leaves her naked on Jeffrey's lawn. Jeffrey follows Booth to Dorothy's apartment, where he finds the corpse of Dorothy's husband and the Yellow Man, whom Booth has shot in the head in anticipation of leaving town. Using a police radio to distract Frank, Jeffrey hides in a closet with a gun and watches while Booth returns to the apartment to execute the Yellow Man. Booth begins searching the apartment for Jeffrey, but when he opens the closet, Jeffrey shoots him in the head, killing him.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the IT films and novel and Bram Stoker's Dracula.

PENNYWISE

Pennywise the Dancing Clown is the primary antagonist of Stephen King's novel IT.

Pennywise is an ancient, trans-dimensional evil entity who preys upon the children (and sometimes adults) of Derry, Maine, roughly every 27 years, using a variety of powers that include the ability to shapeshift, manipulate reality, and go unnoticed by adults. It is a predator of humans, and prefers children to adults. Most importantly, It desires to consume those it has made terrified of itself. The creature implies that this enhances the flavor. It's preference for children prey may be due to how they taste, but also may be due to the fact that children are easier to scare. It's only goals are to eat and sleep. It will hunt and kill for a year, before entering a 27-year dormancy. It manipulates the awareness and attention of the People in Derry, both to mask its activities and isolate its victims. This enforced apathy and lack of awareness also masks the anomalous murder spikes during its active phase. It manipulates its prey and the town through both mundane and psychic means. In the most grand sense, It uses its power to maintain the prosperity of Derry despite the gruesome murders that regularly occur there, thus securing its food supply. It will manipulate its prey by promising them what they want, but can also determine their psychological fears and utilize them to provoke or cow those it faces. In the guise of Pennywise, it can be disarming, charming and seemingly nice to the kids it hunts, usually to lure them into secluded spots before attacking. It can manipulate weak-willed people, making them indifferent to the horrific events that unfold, or even serve as accomplices. Throughout the novel It, some events are depicted from Pennywise's point of view, describing itself as a "superior" being, with the Turtle as an equal and humans as mere "toys". It's hibernation begins and ends with horrific events, like the mysterious disappearance of Derry Township's 300 settlers in 174043 or the town's later ironworks explosion. It awoke during a great storm that flooded part of the city in 1957, with Bill's younger brother Georgie the first in a line of killings before the Losers Club fight the monster.

vs.

COUNT DRACULA

Count Dracula is the primary antagonist of the novel Dracula.

Count Dracula is the titular main antagonist of Bram Stoker's 1897 horror novel Dracula. He is a centuries-old vampire, sorcerer and Transylvanian nobleman, and the ruler of his namesake palace Castle Dracula. In the nineteenth century, Dracula enacts a long contemplated plan to leave his scarcely populated land where everyone knows and fear him, in favor of a populated and striving country in which no one believes in vampires. It is stated that he wants to expand his hunting grounds and breed a coven of vampires, and some speculate that he plans to take over the world. Dracula boards a Russian ship, the Demeter, bringing along 50 crates of Transylvanian soil. During the voyage to Whitby, a coastal town in northern England, he sustains himself on the ship's crew members and throws them at sea. Only the body of the captain is later found, tied up to the ship's helm. After arriving in England, Dracula watches a woman named Lucy under the shape of a bat and later transforms into a wolf in an attempt to break into Lucy's house, violently scaring Lucy's mother who dies of heart failure. He later returns and entices Lucy out of her chamber late at night, draining her blood and killing her. It appears that Lucy is now a vampire herself, and is preying upon children, who call her the "Bloody Maiden". Dracula enters the Asylum, where Mina resides, invited by Renfield, and starts feeding on her. Dracula later kills Renfield, who tried to protect Mina out of gratitude for her kindness, hypnotizes Jonathan to neutralize him and threatens to kill him should Mina resist, before feeding on her and infecting her with vampirism. Dracula is horribly cruel and heartless, only regarding people as prey to feed on and servants to use and trample. He is suave, refined and sophisticated, being able to seamlessly pass for a perfect gentleman, unfailingly polite and considerate, but only when he needs something from someone. When he does not, he is stern and easily irked. He is very proud and haughty, as he fully expects to be shown the respect a man of his condition deserves even under his gentleman faade. He deems the protagonists attempts against him futile, and reacts with scathing spite when thwarted.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Dragonball Z/Super and DC Comics. Proceed at your own risk!

FRIEZA

Frieza is a major antagonist in the Dragonball anime and manga.

After inheriting Cold's imperialist army and rising to power as the emperor of Universe 7 at a young age, Frieza quickly established himself as a ruthless tyrant, feared across the universe for his unparalleled cruelty and power. After one of the races he subjugated, the Saiyans, attempted to revolt against him, the tyrant retaliated by laughing maniacally with delight as he prepared a Supernova to annihilate their home planet of Vegeta. The attack consumed Bardock and some of his men as it buried itself deep beneath the planet's surface resulting in a massive explosion, eradicating nearly every Saiyan. Frieza tends to handle most situations with a systematic approach. He commonly utilizes dark humor, making twisted jokes and tasteless mockery of his foes before killing them. Frieza is fully aware of his reputation for brutality and makes no effort to deny it, but instead revels in it as evidenced by his introduction to the Namekians. Likewise, he has shown great anger at the idea of his cruel deeds being undone, such as the revival of all his previous victims from the Dragon Balls. Frieza can be best summed up as an intelligent, composed (for the most part), yet extraordinarily sadistic and completely heartless sociopath. He has absolutely no qualms with slaughtering his own forces, no matter how loyal to him, simply for being in his way, as seen from when he destroyed Planet Vegeta despite most of his men being within the trajectory, as well as his reason in the Japanese version for executing a soldier before deciding to personally deal with Future Trunks. In addition, when executing Tagoma by shooting him out into space, he also made no attempt at activating the secondary window to save his forces from being sucked into the vacuum of space. He also reacts violently to criticism or if his plans either fail or if his pride is abashed. At his core, Frieza relishes glory, power, agony, dominance, control, and destruction, as shown in his enjoyment of making his enemies suffer before he kills them. He is one of the most sadistic and megalomaniacal beings in the known universes, without any sympathetic or redeeming traits. When Kikono states that the Frieza Force are criminals, Frieza retorts by saying that they merely overtake planets to sell them to those who need a new planet, viewing the interactions as transactional and demonstrating how he makes excuses for his malicious crimes and feels no responsibility for his actions.

vs.

EOBARD THAWNE

Eobard Thawne is the arch-enemy of the DC Comics superhero The Flash.

Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash and Professor Zoom, is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is a twisted sociopathic criminal, with a brilliant mind and super-speed, that was born in the 25th Century and travels through time to do battle with his most hated enemy. His parents genetically engineered him to be highly intelligent and to have a particular appearance. However, as he grew up, they become concerned about his lack of social skills and tendency to daydream, which was frowned upon in their very regimented society. Hoping that caring for a sibling would help Eobard adjust, his parents had a second son, Robern. Eobard illegally began doing his own research on the Speed Force. However, he was caught by Robern, now an officer in the Science Police. A future version of Eobard traveled into the past and prevented Robern from being born. Eobard fell in love with a reporter named Rose who had been hired by Central City Science Today to interview him. However, he learned that she was engaged. His future self interfered yet again, killing Rose's fianc and eventually every man who she had ever dated. When she steadfastly refused to believe that her fianc was gone for good, they became platonic friends. However, she continued to rebuff Thawne's romantic advances, eventually retaliating physically when he attempted to kiss her. In anger, his future self traumatized Rose as a child, rendering her mute and causing her to be institutionalized for the rest of her life. Eobard now had all the time in the world to dedicate to his studies on the speed force. He later replicated the accident that gave the 21st Century's Flash his powers becoming the flash of the 25th century and in travelling back in time he realized that his fate was to collide with The Flash as his worst enemy. This painful realization broke Eobard and drove him mad and lead him to become the villainous speedster known as the Reverse-Flash. This also lead Eobard to create his own Speed Force by the being the opposite of the positive one which made it the negative Speed Force and due to Eobard's arrogant, cruel, unstable and sadistic nature, he easily able to connect with the Negative Speed Force. The Reverse-Flash then constantly travelled back in time to do battle with his nemesis, eventually coming into conflict with many other superheroes as well.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the films of Damien Leone, particular the Terrifier films, and Five Nights At Freddy's. Proceed at your own risk!

ART THE CLOWN

Art the Clown is the antagonist of several horror films and shorts.

Art the Clown made his debut appearance in the short film "The 9th Circle", which follows his pursuit of a young woman named Casey in an empty train station on Halloween night. Art abducts Casey and brings her to a satanic cult for a sacrifice to Satan. Art's second appearance was in the short film "Terrifier", where he stalks and torments a young woman who witnesses one of his murders at a gas station. The character made his feature-film debut in All Hallows' Eve, which incorporates the prior two short films as segments on VHS tapes that the film's protagonist Sarah watches with the children she's babysitting on Halloween night. Art enters the real world and murders the children for a terrified Sarah to find. Art's second feature-film appearance was in the slasher film Terrifier (2016). In Terrifier, Art inhabits the fictitious Miles County and pursues partygoer Tara Heyes and her sister Victoria on Halloween night. After killing Tara, he targets Victoria, the lone survivor. She fights against Art until he runs her over with a pickup truck and eats half of her face off, leaving her disfigured. Art is a vile, dangerous, and demented killer clown who has a penchant for viciously slaughtering nearly anyone he comes across, with his preferred method of killing and torture being mutilation. Art possesses various supernatural abilities as well, which he uses to induce fear upon his targets. He is shown to be an extremely dedicated serial killer, stopping at nothing until he has finally cornered his victims, who he continually chases down, terrorizes and stalks, before either killing in a slow, violently sadistic manner, or, as shown in some cases, sparing their lives, only so that they have to live with the trauma he has exposed them to. He always (silently) laughs when his targets are in peril, and is very theatrical when hunting down and killing them, oftentimes performing his kills in an animated, comedic manner.

vs.

THE PURPLE GUY

The Purple Guy is a major antagonist of the Five Nights At Freddy's series.

William Afton, also known as the 'Purple' Guy and Springtrap, was the serial killer responsible for the murder of a dozen children over the period of about a decade, as well as the founder of Fredbear's Family Diner and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Afton is visualized as a tall, abnormal purple figure with a giant grin on his face, representing how he hides in the shadows during his killing sprees and the pleasure he takes in his crimes. Afton had a strange fascination with Spring Bonnie, a suit which depicted a large androgynous yellow rabbit. He would wear it inside the pizzeria, via using a hand crank to move the inner metal parts of the suit away from his face, chest, arms and legs. By doing this, Afton could slip into the suit without worry of being impaled. However, on around the date of June 26th, 1985, Afton abducted and murdered five children by luring them into a backroom dressed in the prior mentioned rabbit costume. He would then hide their corpses to avoid getting caught, possibly in the animatronic costumes. Police arrested Afton, but he was let go due to a lack of evidence and the bodies never being found. This caused the spirits of the dead children to possess the animatronics, hungry for vengeance. Sometime after his demise, Afton awoke in his own pool of blood, alone and decomposing. Due to his iron will to live, his soul was unable to rest and move on to the afterlife, resulting in Afton being permanently encased in the confines of his own creation. In the year of 2023, he was found by a couple of college students wanting to make a quick buck and put inside Fazbear's Fright, a horror attraction based on the infamous past of the Freddy Fazbear brand. Now free to do what he pleases, he abandons his old identity and accepts his gruesome rebirth, calling himself The Springtrap. It is heavily implied that William's true motive is to gain the secret of immortality and live eternally alongside fulfilling his cruel and sadistic pleasures. Judging by his actions and appearance within the games, William is wicked, cold-blooded and methodical, clearly showing no remorse for his actions. He was even malicious enough to murder his closest friend and business partner Henry's only daughter Charlotte, an event which caused Henry immense emotional turmoil to the point where he nearly committed suicide, showing that William is more than willing to harm his friends, whether it be mentally, emotionally, or physically. As shown in every minigame he appears in, he always smiles during his killings, and in the Pizza Party minigame in Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, which appears to be a recreation of one of Afton's murders, Glitchtrap, who is representing Afton, can be seen dancing gleefully after murdering the victim, taunting them while they are trapped inside of a robotic suit and suffering a slow and painful death.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the Berserk anime and manga and the Resident Evil series. Proceed at your own risk!

GRIFFITH

Griffith is a major antagonist in the anime and manga series Berserk.

As a mercenary, Griffith fought in the Hundred Year War and restored peace to the war-torn kingdom of Midland and was once a close friend and ally of Guts. After being tortured, however, he used the eclipse to sacrifice his entire army and later was reborn as Femto, the fifth, newest, and final member of the God Hand. He is the arch-nemesis of Guts. Griffith was willing to sacrifice everything for the dream of his own kingdom, believing that he is destined for things greater than the average man. After winning the war for Midland, Griffith loses to Guts in a duel which stipulates that Guts remain in his service should he lose and freed if he wins. This loss results in Guts' desertion from the Falcons. Seeing Guts and Casca loving each other finally drove him insane (in his final moments before the Eclipse, he dreamed of a normal life, with children and Casca as his wife). Despairing the loss of his dream at Guts' influence, his state of madness that coincided with both the reappearance of his lost Behelit and a solar eclipse. It was during this event that Griffith gave into his despair and submitted himself to become the fifth member of the God Hand, sacrificing the Band of the Falcon in order to be reborn as Femto. His first act upon his transformation was to rape Casca before Guts' eyes. Griffith was once a fair, honorable and straightforward man. However, as a mercenary, he is also extremely opportunistic, ambitious and power-hungry. Still, when not on the job, he does have a less serious, more playful and joking side. This side of him is usually reserved for Casca or Guts, especially the latter. However, Griffith is also quite sociopathic, narcissistic, manipulative, vicious, and obsessive to the point that he was willing to strike Guts down than to let him go when the larger man muses about leaving. After being reborn as Femto, all traces of his morality, emotions, and conscience have been completely erased. Griffith has now become a full-blown psychopath: extremely callous, pitiless, remorseless, uncaring, and sadistic monster, as he sees Guts and the Falcons as nothing, but tools and he discards them like garbage when they are no longer useful.

vs.

ALBERT WESKER

Albert Wesker is a major antagonist in the Resident Evil series.

Wesker has been one of the series' main antagonists as a member of Umbrella Corporation, manipulating story events behind-the-scenes. Wesker first appears as a non-playable character in the original Resident Evil game, where he is the commanding officer for the Alpha team of the Special Tactics And Rescue Service (S.T.A.R.S.). He is also secretly a double agent for the Umbrella Corporation, where he is employed as a researcher to develop mutagenic viruses and bio-organic weapons (BOWs). Wesker lures the S.T.A.R.S. teams to a mansion overrun with zombies and other deadly BOWs to study the combat effectiveness of Umbrella's creations. He initially helps the player by providing supplies and useful information, but his true motives are discovered by surviving S.T.A.R.S. members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. He survives his apparent demise due to an experimental virus which grants him superhuman speed, strength, and regeneration. Wesker then begins to work for an unnamed rival to the Umbrella Corporation and conducts a raid on a secret research facility in Antarctica in Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Wesker is defeated by Chris Redfield, who arrives at the facility while searching for his missing sister Claire. Afterwards, Wesker continues to sell viral agents and BOWs on the black market. Wesker makes a cameo in Resident Evil 4 and its 2023 remake, where he is revealed to be working with Ada Wong to obtain a specimen sample for further BOW research. In Resident Evil 5, Wesker conspires to release the Uroboros virus across the world. To further his own plans, Wesker betrays his allies, fakes his death, gains superhuman abilities, and works with both Umbrella's mysterious rival company and their successors in the field of biological weapons development until his ultimate defeat by Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5. He believed that he was chosen to achieve the ultimate goal of causing the mass extinction of humanity in favor of evolution. Albert Wesker is a very power-hungry, traitorous, manipulative, ruthless, misanthropic, sadistic, and calculating individual who seeks power and dominance over everything. Wesker works constantly behind the scenes, often using others to do his dirty work for him. He maintains a calm, collected, and enthusiastic manner most of the time and is always looking to bring payback to anyone who wrongs him. Wesker can manipulate others to work for him, but he doesn't care for anyone except himself, as noted by his betrayal of his S.T.A.R.S. Unit and Excella. He believes that he is destined to be the god of a new world, one that he would create by "purifying" the current one.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for the Pokemon games and anime and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Proceed at your own risk!

GHETSIS

Ghetsis is the primary antagonist of Pokemon Black and White.

The adoptive father of N, Concordia and Athea, he is the leader of the Seven Sages of Team Plasma and its true mastermind. He maintains the guise of a loyal servant to N and a herald of Team Plasma's utopia, one where humans release their Pokmon. In actuality, however, Ghetsis manipulated N his whole life and groomed him to be Team Plasma's king, using N's plan to release all Pokmon to become the only person in all of Unova to have control over Pokmon, ensuring his domination over the entire region. Two years later, Ghetsis returns as the mastermind behind Neo Team Plasma, which is now fully dedicated to Ghetsis' plan to rule over Unova. Attempting to conquer the region through force, Ghetsis awakens the legendary Pokmon Kyurem, to freeze Unova into submission. Cornered within the Giant Chasm, Ghetsis uses the DNA Splicers on N's Reshiram/Zekrom to transform his Kyurem into White Kyurem/Black Kyurem in a final attempt to take what he believes he is owed for himself. Ghetsis is a manipulative man who wants to convince people to liberate Pokmon from human slavery. However, this is only so he could rule the region unopposed. Ghetsis is abusive as well, constantly calling N a freak. It is implied that Ghetsis is willing to kill children, as shown when he seeks to eliminate the player to forever keep his real goal a secret and attempts to freeze the sequel's player by using Kyurem to avenge himself for his loss, years prior. Likewise, Ghetsis is an egotistical man, believes himself to be perfect, and refuses to accept defeat. His insanity has worsened in the sequel, because this time, he threatens to freeze all of Unova to gain total control over the region. Due to his mental breakdown after his final defeat, the Shadow Triad tells the player that Ghetsis can no longer do anything at all, finally ending his threat once and for all.

Zoran Lazarevic is the primary antagonist of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Zoran Lazarevic was a Serbian intelligence officer, paramilitary commander and ruthless war criminal long thought by the public and NATO to be deceased. He is a fortune seeker heavily obsessed with finding the lost city of Shambhala and the Cintamani Stone. Lazarevi has been described as both a ruthless, feared and sadistic man. Power hungry and ambitious, Lazarevi would stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Lazarevi has a totalitarian philosophy based on the bloodiest dictators in history, viewing historical figures such as Genghis Khan, Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot as "great men" due to their lack of compassion and mercy, he has no value for life, having tortured and murdered hundreds of people, including killing his own men if they would betray or slow him down. In his views caring for human life is a shameful weakness and ruthlessly mowing down people is strength. This goes to extreme, to the point when he was beaten down, near dead at the Tree of Life and at the mercy of Nathan Drake instead of begging for his life he tries to persuade Drake to kill him to make him the same ruthless, merciless killer Lazarevi was Lazarevi does not care to kill anyone who .crosses his path, and would kill even innocent and injured people who had nothing to do with him; he mindlessly killed an injured Jeff, and attacked a Tibetan Village filled with innocent villagers just because they were in his way. Lazarevi has no respect or care to his associates and soldiers, seeing them just as another tool that would help him with his search for Shambhala.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Harry Potter and Twin Peaks. Proceed at your own risk!

LORD VOLDEMORT

Voldemort is the primary antagonist of the Harry Potter books and films.

Voldemort is the archenemy of Harry Potter, who according to a prophecy has "the power to vanquish the Dark Lord". He attempts to murder the boy, but instead kills his parents, Lily and James Potter, and leaves Harry with a scar on his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt. Nearly every witch or wizard dares not utter his name and refers to him instead with such monikers as "You-Know-Who", "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named", or "The Dark Lord". Voldemort's obsession with blood purity signifies his aim to rid the wizarding world of Muggle (non-magical) heritage and to conquer both worlds, Muggle and wizarding, to achieve pure-blood dominance. He is the leader of the Death Eaters, a group of evil wizards and witches dedicated to ridding the Wizarding World of Muggles and establishing Voldemort as its supreme ruler. In the First and Second Wizarding Wars, he commanded a veritable army of wizards and Dark creatures; committed countless murders and atrocities; and eventually succeeded in taking over the British Ministry of Magic. J. K. Rowling described Voldemort as "the most evil wizard for hundreds and hundreds of years". She elaborated that he is a "raging psychopath, devoid of the normal human responses to other people's suffering", and whose only ambition in life is to become all-powerful and immortal. He is also a sadist who hurts and murders peopleespecially Mugglesfor his own amusement. He has no conscience, feels no remorse or empathy, and does not recognise the worth and humanity of anybody except himself. He feels no need for human companionship or friendship, and cannot comprehend love or affection for another. He believes he is superior to everyone around him, to the point that he frequently refers to himself in the third person as "Lord Voldemort". Rowling also stated that Voldemort is "incredibly power hungry. Racist, really", and that if Voldemort were to look into the Mirror of Erised, in which one sees one's greatest desire, he would see "Himself, all-powerful and eternal. That's what he wants."

vs.

BOB

BOB is the primary antagonist of Twin Peaks.

BOB is an interdimensional entity who feeds on pain and sorrow. An inhabiting spirit, he possesses human beings and then commits acts of rape and murder in order to feast upon his victims. Bob is an interdimensional entity from the Black Lodge, a realm which exists on an alternate plane of reality. While "possessing" humans, he commits horrible crimes to elicit pain, fear, and suffering in those around him. During his investigation of Laura Palmer's murder, FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper first learns of Bob's existence in a vision, in which he encounters another entity named Mike. In this vision, Cooper learns that Bob was in life a serial killer who raped and murdered young women, with Mike as his accomplice. Mike eventually repented, removing his left arm in order to be rid of the tattoo that he shared with Bob. At the beginning of the second season, one of Bob's intended victims, Ronnette Pulaski, awakens from a coma induced by her torture at Bob's hands, at which time she identifies Bob as Laura's killer. Cooper and the Twin Peaks Sheriff department canvass the town with wanted posters of Bob. Leland Palmer, Laura's father, identifies the man in the poster as "Robertson", and says that he lived near his grandfather and used to taunt Leland when he was a child. It is later revealed that Bob is, in fact, possessing Leland, and has been "possessing" him ever since Leland first met him as a child at his grandfather's house. Under Bob's influence, Leland sexually abused his own daughter for years, and finally murdered her. Leland is also under Bob's control when he murders Leland's niece Maddy Ferguson, who looks just like Laura. Upon learning the truth, Cooper lures Bob into a trap by tricking Leland into allowing himself to be questioned. Under interrogation, Bob takes control and taunts Cooper before forcing Leland to bash his head repeatedly into the wall, sustaining fatal injuries. Cooper sees a vision of Bob taunting him shortly after Josie Packard has a sudden heart attack as he tries to arrest her. It is implied that Bob caused the heart attack by flooding her body and soul with terror, literally frightening her to death.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Final Fantasy VI and the Horizon series of games. Proceed at your own risk!

KEFKA

Kefka is the primary antagonist of Final Fantasy VI.

The court mage of the Gestahlian Empire, Kefka was their first experimental Magitek Knight, giving him the ability to use magic. However, the process was not yet perfected and the infusion damaged Kefka's mind, transforming him into a maniacal harlequin with an unquenchable thirst for blood. When word came that a frozen esper had been dug up in the northern town of Narshe, Kefka used a Slave Crown to take control of Terra. As a test of his control over her, Kefka ordered her to burn fifty Imperial soldiers, which she did. Kefka headed to an Imperial Camp on the outskirts of Doma Castle. General Leo was leading a siege of the castle, but their efforts had been stymied. Kefka intended to usurp Leo's command of the Imperial force and break the stalemate by poisoning Doma's water supply. Edgar's brother, Sabin, was infiltrating the camp with the ninja mercenary Shadow, and when they overheard Kefka's intent they intervened to stop him. The Imperials stalled the two long enough for Kefka to dump the poison and Doma was decimated. Kefka eventually turned on Emperor Gestahl and seized control of the Warring Triad to become the god of magic, and used their power to destroy the known world. Kefka cares nothing about anyone or anything but himself and he finds no greater joy in life than in inflicting suffering and death unto others. He has no long-reaching goal for his destructive actions, destruction itself is the goal. He manipulates the emotions of others and will readily lie without hesitation, but his purpose for doing this is again usually nothing but his own amusement in tormenting them. Kefka's need to inflict suffering drives him to continuously greater heights to satiate his urges, culminating with the ruination of the entire world and the deaths of countless creatures. Confronted by the party at the end of the game, Kefka reveals the ultimate revelation he has achievedthat life is meaningless. All things that live will die, everything people care about will be destroyed, and everything they achieved will be forgotten. Thus Kefka declares that struggling to continue living in the face of death is pointless and stupid, and people should accept their fates and surrender themselves to destruction at his hands. When the party refutes his claims with their personal reasons for living, Kefka flies into a rage and declares that he will destroy those reasons, and the concepts of love and hope are worthless and he will destroy them as well.

vs.

TED FARO

Ted Faro is a major antagonist in the Horizon series of games.

Ted Faro was the founder, owner, and chairman of the robotics and technology corporation Faro Automated Solutions (FAS). His business savvy allowed him to build FAS into the most successful and influential corporation of all time, becoming world famous for its automated platforms ranging from personal servants to military technology. However, his greed, recklessness and lack of foresight led to the extinction of all life on Earth via an advanced military platform, also known as the Faro Plague, whose design and development he personally conceived and oversaw. As he continued his natural life post-Zero Day in his bunker, Faro became obsessed with the coming new world that the Zero Dawn terraforming system would create, particularly its humans. Part of the terraforming system was a vast archive of pre-extinction knowledge, culture, and history, under the control of the GAIA Subordinate Function designated APOLLO. This archive was intended for the new humans. With it, APOLLO would teach them about the human species achievements, disseminate its knowledge to them, and teach them to avoid the mistakes of the old world. Faro became convinced that this knowledge was a danger to the new humans. Driven by his mental breakdown, he devised a plan to ensure the dissemination of this knowledge to those blameless man and women never happened. Faro secretly acquired a security clearance that was above even Sobeck's, and unilaterally deleted the entire archive. He then called a meeting with the Alphas in the GAIA Primes control room, communicating with them via hologram. Resolutely declaring to them that "Sometimes to protect innocents, innocents have to die", he then used his security clearance to vent the room's atmosphere, asphyxiating them and preventing them from restoring APOLLO. Faro's motivation for deleting APOLLO was to annihilate his past along with that of the rest of the world, after which he'd be free to guide the new humanity in a way he envisioned. The guru Grigori Fasbach, another survivor living in his bunker, would later hack into files which showed how Faro had sabotaged Zero Dawn, for which he was killed by use of an "off-switch" that had secretly been inserted into the other survivors living in the bunker on Faro's orders. As Faro's mentality became more erratic, he used the "off-switch" to gradually kill most of the other survivors in the bunker.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Suikoden II and American Psycho. Proceed at your own risk!

LUCA BLIGHT

Luca Blight is a major antagonist in Suikoden II.

Known for his unmatched cruelty and bloodlust, Luca is referred to as the "Mad Prince"; the source of his anger resulted from an attack on the Highland royalty's entourage by ruffians. Luca was traveling with his mother, Sara, and father, Agares, when they were attacked by a group of ruffians. Luca's father fled in fear, leaving Luca and his mother to their mercy; Sara was raped repeatedly, while Luca was forced to witness the ordeal. He would later discover the ruffians were hired by Muse, and has since developed a profound hatred to the Jowston Alliance and his father, Agares, the incompetent King of Highland. Luca gains military control over the Highland Army when Agares steps down to take responsibility for the ceasefire signed with Jowston. With his newfound power, Luca instigates another war with Jowston and uses the Beast Rune, beginning a plot that involves massacring the entire Unicorn Youth Brigade and blaming the incident on Jowston. He rapidly attacks and conquers the city-states of Jowston and successfully conspires with Jowy Atreides to assassinate Agares. The collaborative efforts of Leon Silverberg, Shu and Jowy bring about his downfall at the hands of the New State Army. Luca appears as a cruel and sadistic psychopath with utterly no redeeming or even tragic qualities. Every one of his killings is always followed by a purely evil laugh. He is tyrannical to the Highland Kingdom by gaining control over the military power of the Highland Army. In this regard, Luca can be described as a "berserker" type of character. He is quenching his bloodlust, as seen when he fatally kills a scared woman after forcing her to act like a pig when he burned the village in Ryube. He is also shown to be selfish and treacherous, such as when he betrayed his own father, Agares Blight, during his assassination with Jowy by poison as part of his revenge for leaving him and his mother in fear during the attack in Jowston, and also in the aforementioned incident with the woman in Ryube, as he implied he'd spare her only if she behaved like a pig. He seems to be aware to a degree of his truly depraved and vile nature, as when dying, he openly brags about being the true face of evil.

vs.

PATRICK BATEMAN

Patrick Bateman is the protagonist of the novel and film American Psycho.

Bateman, at the beginning of American Psycho, is a 27-year-old specialist in mergers and acquisitions at the fictional Wall Street investment firm of Pierce & Pierce and lives at 55 West 81st Street, Upper West Side on the 11th floor of the American Gardens Building. In his secret life, however, Bateman is a serial killer murdering a variety of people, including colleagues, the homeless, and prostitutes. His crimesincluding rape, torture, necrophilia, and cannibalismare graphically described in the novel. Although Bateman often claims that he is devoid of emotion, he also describes experiencing moments of extreme rage, panic or griefbeing on the "verge of tears"often over trivial inconveniences such as remembering to return videotapes or trying to obtain dinner reservations. He publicly espouses a philosophy of tolerance, equality, and "traditional moral values" because he thinks it will make him more likable, but is in fact virulently racist, homophobic, and antisemitic.Bateman kills more or less indiscriminately, with no preferred type of victim, somewhat targeting any woman and man who gets in his way, and no consistent or preferred method of killing. Throughout the novel, he kills men, women, animals, and, in one instance, a child. Bateman murders women mostly for sadistic sexual pleasure, often during or just after sex. He kills men because they upset or annoy him or make him feel inferior. In the case of the child, Bateman wished to see if he would enjoy it but found it unsatisfactory since the child's death would not affect as many people as an adult would. Periodically, he matter-of-factly confesses his crimes to his friends, co-workers, and even complete strangers just to see if they are actually listening to him. They either are not, or they think that he is joking.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for The Boys and Magic: The Gathering. Proceed at your own risk!

HOMELANDER

Homelander is a major antagonist in the comic book and television series The Boys.

The Homelander is a patriotic superhero who leads the superhero team, The Seven, and the most powerful superhuman created by Vought-American. The company's cover story for the Homelander is that he is an alien who landed in the United States as an infant, much like Superman. In reality, he was grown in a secret laboratory, the progeny of genetic material taken from Stormfront, who was injected with Compound V while still a member of the Hitler Youth. As interpreted within the television series, Homelander is possessive, paranoid, vindictive, insensitive, reckless with his powers, and incapable of accepting the possibility of any flaw in his person or decision-making. Unlike in the comic series, Homelander coerced Butcher's wife into having sex with him after she had been assigned as his assistant. After Starlight denounces Homelander and Vought and abandons her persona as Starlight via a livestream, Homelander says that he dumped her and accuses her of engaging in human trafficking via her charitable foundation, the Starlight House. After learning that Queen Maeve not only acted as an informant for the Boys but also slept with their leader Billy Butcher, Homelander has her detained at Seven Tower with the intention of harvesting her eggs. Homelander would later learn of his connection with Soldier Boy after receiving a call from him. After confirming this connection with Black Noir, Homelander savagely murders the latter. He later picks up Ryan from Mallory's house after intimidating her. When Homelander attempts to connect with Soldier Boy by introducing him to Ryan and saying that all three of them could be a family, Soldier Boy disowns him as a weak, damaged, attention-seeking disappointment and attempts to kill or depower him (as part of his deal with Butcher). Homelander turns against Soldier Boy after the latter strikes Ryan, but is forced to reluctantly fight Queen Maeve. He later introduces his son Ryan to his and Stormfronts supporters at Vought Tower. There, a pro-Starlight protestor hits Ryan in the face with a soft drink can, provoking Homelander to kill him. The Homelander's powers and sense of entitlement have led him to exhibit extreme megalomania, causing him to commit crimes against innocent people, including acts of rape and mass murder, out of the idea that he can do anything he wants because of who he is.

vs.

YAWGMOTH

Yawgmoth is a major antagonist in the Magic: The Gathering franchise.

Yawgmoth was the god and perfector of the Phyrexian race. Originally human, in his early life, he was a medical genius of the ancient Thran Empire known for his highly controversial solutions to medical ailments. Yawgmoth was born in the last century of the ancient Thran Empire, during a highly politicized conflict between the artificer-aligned elite imperialists and the eugenicist-aligned republican rabble. Due to his fascination with the human body and his view that it was a marvelous machine, Yawgmoth became a champion of the eugenicist faction. During his exile , Yawgmoth journeyed the globe, visiting many different civilizations in his ruthless, cold-hearted pursuit of knowledge. During this time, he committed many atrocities, of which the following are known: he set the Black Cough upon the dwarves of Oryn Deeps, inciting a workers' rebellion that nearly killed the dwarven king and ended 1,000 years of dwarven rule, he turned the Creeping Mold of Argoth into a virulent plague that ate away the elves there, he also kidnapped their priest Elyssendril Lademmdrith and her healers, ordering the elves to pay ransom for their leader and the cure she had developed for the plague. When the elves paid, he delivered to them only sweetened water and 12 dead healers. He set the White Death upon the minotaurs of Talruum, just to study its effects, he infected the leaders of the cat people nations with rabies, after which they tore each other to pieces, he poisoned the human tribes of Gulatto Meisha, and he pithed and vivisected the Bey of the Shivan Viashino. Yawgmoth's exile would be revoked and he returned to Thran, which started a massive war between Thran and the civilizations Yawgmoth had experimented on during his exile. He would eventually trick a planeswalker named Dyfed into creating a portal to Phyrexia for him, and would bind himself to the plane, ruling it as its god and taking sick patients there in order to mutate them into his own personal army. When Dyfed was stunned at the horror Phyrexia had become, he stabbed her in the back of the head with a powerstone dagger, disabling the planeswalker, hoping to dissect her and learn what she had that enabled her to planeswalk. Rebbec removed the powerstone however, mercy-killing Dyfed. Yawgmoth would come to be trapped within Phyrexia, but thousands of years later, he would launch an invasion of Dominaria, attempting to conquer the plane for his own vile purposes and causing the deaths of many in the process.

The following write-ups will contain untagged SPOILERS for Game Of Thrones and Total Drama. Proceed at your own risk!

RAMSAY BOLTON

Ramsay Bolton is a major antagonist in the Game of Thrones novels and television series.

Lord Ramsay Bolton, born Ramsay Snow, was the legitimized bastard son of Roose Bolton, Lord of the Dreadfort, and the unidentified wife of a miller. Following the successful capture of Winterfell from the Ironborn, Ramsay holds Theon Greyjoy captive and utilizes extreme torture to break him into loyal submission; renaming him "Reek." Some time later, Ramsay hunts a girl named Tansy in the woods with his hounds, Myranda, and Reek. With bows in hand, he and Myranda gleefully pursue Tansy, firing arrows at her as they go. Ramsay explains that Tansy had made Myranda jealous, so she has to go because she causes too many problems otherwise. Myranda manages to strike Tansy with an arrow in the leg before Ramsay happily releases his dogs on her, killing her. Through an arrangement orchestrated by Petyr Baelish, Ramsay is wed to Sansa Stark, who escapes from Winterfell along with Theon. Their escape drives Ramsay to murder his entire family on threat of being disinherited, he then becomes the new Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell, replacing his father. Ramsay is a vicious, savage and thoroughly unpredictable psychopath who enjoys rape, necrophilia and torture. Ramsay is a genuine sociopath. He practises the sadistic Bolton custom of flaying his captives alive, he names his dogs after women he has killed and brings back their skin as a gruesome trophy. He is dishonorable, manipulative, ruthless, extremely sadistic, sexually depraved, wild, and completely capable of committing unspeakable atrocities without remorse, simply for pure amusement. Ramsay fully admitsand indeed revels in the factthat he tortures and kills innocent people for no reason whatsoever, and that they did not deserve what he did to them. He simply enjoys inflicting horrific torture on people.

vs.

CHRIS MCLEAN

Chris McLean is both the host and primary antagonist of the Total Drama animated reality show.

As the host of the show, Chris is in charge of designing challenges for the contestants to compete inall of which he intentionally makes excruciating and gruesome for the contestants to satisfy his sadistic tendencies. is most important co-host, employee, best friend, and sidekick is Chef Hatchet, as well as several interns whom he torments (even recklessly murdering via neglect for their well-being) for fun. Whenever he is absent, he lets Chef host his nasty challenges. Chris has zero concern for fairness and sportsmanship in the competition and loves to deliberately eliminate contestants who don't deserve it in extremely abrupt, unfair, and even outright cruel ways. On more than one occasion, he even outright breaks the fundamental rules of the game. Chris thoroughly enjoys it whenever contestants fight with, bully, exploit, betray, and cheat against each other, and sometimes tries to exacerbate the conflicts between them. In the fire-building challenge in "Up the Creek", Chris claimed that there were no rules against those carrying lighters when Duncan used them for the fire. In "Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan", instead of giving a panda for Cody, he chose Sierra to be his pinball buddy. In "Slap, Slap Revolution", he allowed Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot to use Owen to slide down the hill due to him eating raw meat. He is also vengeful to those who cross him, such as Scott when he arranged Fang to hurl the injured Scott as payback for flinging him into the "pit of poo". This is also shown by his dislike of Topher, who attempted to take over the show, and, while admitting that Chris himself would have also committed Topher's actions if he were in his shoes, still desired to rid himself of any potential rival or someone who insulted his work as the host. Chris eliminated another rival when he pushed Blaineley out of the plane after she tried to reveal that she was the initial choice as the host of Total Drama.
