I'm not sure what more details you want here. He's not suddenly going to become a Democrat, because it would be better for whatever narrative you want to push.

He hated Trump enough to try and kill him. In the current cultural vitriol around Trump from people who hate him, that's enough.

If Democrats are smart, they'll ease back on the existential threat rhetoric now.

There's apparently a video of him saying he hates trump and Republicans.

So could be he registered as a troll move or to push back against a trump nomination
