Sanderson has a lot of books in the same Cinematic Universe kind of deal, so maybe just avoiding that altogether and going with something like Skyward would be a good place to start. Avoid the push for "omg everything is connected I have to see it ALL" that has never really worked until MCU started doing it in like, Phase 2-3.

TBF his stuff is mostly connected through easter eggs. There's so far not a single case of you needing to read one series to understand something in another, just additional context

The argument is that while he wasn't intending to cause a riot, he WAS intending to do something explicitly immoral by gathering people up for a giveaway he had no intention to follow through on, breaking multiple laws to do so, and it causing a scene and even a riot given the size and behavior of his fanbase is a reasonable expectation, which is more than enough to charge him for inciting a riot.

Except the Bible is the literary inspiration far more than Gilgamesh is.

This has already been discussed. While I'd definitely be in support of teaching the influences of the bible and other texts, the fact remains the texts themselves are bigger inspirations than what they were based on, even if only because of how widespread and culturally significant they are.

There's absolutely no need to teach religious texts, though, and the tone of lessons should be neutral and descriptive only.

There is a need to at least partly teach them to discuss their relevance to literature, culture, and society.

I did, and I reached out for a copy of it to get the date, they wouldn't send out a copy and I had no place to access it.

Apparently it's because of a miscommunication. They took away any way to view our lease, and we were looking to move out, they said it'd be over in September which I took to mean Aug 30th would be the last day, it's apparently September 30th. They never even sent me a copy of the lease so I had no hard date to look at.

Welp, their mistake, their problem. I'm not paying the last month and they're going to see consequences if they force the issue especially after the scummy shit they did.

Sent them notice of their error, told them to fix it and send us the refund of we're due from our deposit.

If you want to discuss the problems of American history, that's an entirely different discussion that we both agree needs fixing.

A problem completely separate from the idea of insisting America needs religious text taught in school when we already have approx 40% of the country in support of Christianity and no other religion being for forced onto children.

This isn't just about Christianity and doesn't involve religion being forced on kids. Either address the actual topic and suggestions or leave the discussion.

An apartment I lived in a long time ago tried to charge me for water damage caused by a leaking toilet, like months after I'd moved out. If it was leaking it was under the floor or something, cause I never saw anything. Also I am pretty sure the one perk of renting is the owner is responsible for all that, not the tenant, and that's what security deposits are for.

I ignored them and it never mattered.

Honestly if they'd said the damage was enough to demand a payment, that'd be a different thing because one of our old roommates kinda went to town and destroyed his closet door. But they said we should have a ~300 refund if not for charging us for breaking the lease.

I broke my lease at my old apartments, but they tried to charge me for way more than they should have. The ended up renting the apartment out to someone else about 45 days later and I had to go over the math with them like 5 times until they understood they were making a mistake.

This same company tried to screw us over regularly, including telling our new apartment we owed "over and above" a month's rent....the only thing we owed was rent which had been posted hours before they sent that notice

We gave them 30 day notice and there was zero room for doubt we were leaving

But we didn't, we moved out when the lease was up....
